Convenientemente situado fuera de I64 y directamente entre Richmond y Williamsburg, Moss Side Cottage es una casa recientemente remodelada que se encuentra justo al lado de Moss Side Manor (VRBO lista # 684301). Country Charm

This home and space is exceptionally outfitted for a large family. My children and dog had plenty of space indoors and outdoors to roam. 4 beds and 3 full baths make this space efficient for a large group. Communication and response to any question is rapid. The home is well maintained, updated appliances, and a 2 car garage. This home is very accommodating. My family cannot wait to come back and stay here again for a visit to Virginia.

Wonderful property

Well maintained, well equipped rental property. Many small details that you do not see in many rentals. The owner understands that the little things sometimes makes the difference from hand soap at all sinks to coffee pods in the Kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped even though some pots need to be replaced. We really enjoyed our stay.

The place was perfect! Very well stocked kitchen, laundry room, and bathroom essentials. Beautiful property! Very clean! My brother lives in New Kent, and my family will stay here from now when we come to visit. Loved the place!

Quiet, relaxing and beautiful views!

My friend from out of the country, her kids, my kid and I all stayed here. The view on the back deck was gorgeous, the house was spacious and spotless. I was impressed when the 3 kids all took a shower at the same time with my friend and I showering after them. 5 showers, 3 of which were at the same time and we never ran out of hot water. We had everything we needed to cook, there was laundry detergent and multiple washers and dryers which made quick work of the wet clothes and towels from our visit to the water park and Busch Gardens. Chloe even checked in with us after our first night to make sure our first night was seamless. There was no long list of things to do before leaving and the peace and quiet after long days out were exactly what we needed. We even had access to the garage which was amazing for loading and unloading the car. I would recommend the Moss Cottage to anyone and will definitely plan to stay again, if the need arises.

Just as good as the first time

House is great. Very quiet neighborhood. This would be the second time at this location. Would be great if we could utilize the fire place though. Overall, love this house.

Clean and comfortable

We loved our stay!! The home was warm and comfortable with a fireplace! The home had lovely views of the pasture and woods and was very quiet (no city noises). The stars were so bright and we enjoyed sitting on the deck beside the fire table! I would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.

Wonderful location to all the attractions

Nice quiet location and convenient to all the attractions in Williamsburg and Richmond. The property was very clean. It was open, airy, and we really enjoyed having 3 bathrooms. The only downside, for us, was only having one TV in the house and it was streaming service. We had a couple older people with us that stay back while we enjoy the attractions. They had a hard time with the steaming service and don't like watching the same things. This is probably not a problem for most. Other than that there were no complaints. The owner communicated well with us and checked to see if we needed anything. We are hoping to come back and stay in the future.

Wedding weekend

My granddaughter got married at Historic Jasmine this weekend and we were fortunate enough to have found Moss Cabin for our family. It is a wonderful place-cozy and comfortable and so clean. The surroundings were lovely and relaxing. I’m hoping that we get a chance to stay there again soon!! Chloe was wonderful to deal with and was responsive to any questions we had!!!

Beautiful home in fantastic location

This was our second time staying here, the first being pre-pandemic in 2019. Nothing has changed, other than our neighbors going from the brown cow variety to a herd of "Oreo Cookie" cattle... it was wonderful interacting with them over a cup of coffee at sunrise. Beautiful three bedroom, three full bathroom home that is tastefully decorated. Halfway between Richmond and Williamsburg, we had no issues even traveling as far away as VA Beach (about 75 minutes) and it was conveniently close to Williamsburg (30 minutes) and other spots of interest such as Newport News and Norfolk (45 minutes to an hour). The property manager Chloe was an absolute pleasure to deal with and we will definitely try to stay here on our next excursion to southern VA.

Most relaxing and peaceful stay

My wife and I absolutely enjoyed this cottage. We look forward to revisiting this place as soon as possible. The host was fantastic. The place was clean and relaxing. We have never stayed at a better place when going through VRBO. The views the sounds and the atmosphere just one of the most peaceful and relaxing places we have ever visited. I would recommend this place to anybody that wants to visit this area.

Perfect Holiday Getaway

The house was perfect for our two-night stay during our Christmas Town visit. The area is quaint and only 30 minutes to Williamsburg. The yard backed to a farm / farmette and we were able to see the neighboring cows. Quiet area and easy access to highway.

Great stay

The Moss Side Cottage was beautifully appointed and very comfortable and clean. We felt right at home. Our dog, Jesse loved running around the property. We had the pleasure of meeting Clyde and discussing the history of the property and New Kent County. We look forward to a return visit.

Pristine Cottage close to amenities

Our family of five and our dogs thoroughly enjoyed staying at this pristine cottage! We were centrally located between Williamsburg and Richmond which suited our needs perfectly. We stayed for a week and were very comfortable , just like being at home. We will definitely be back!

The current property owner, John Poindexter, an entrepreneur as well as a land and building preservationist, is a native Texan. He currently resides in Houston while considering New Kent, Virginia his second home.

With family roots in New Kent dating to the late 1600's, John began a property acquisition and restoration effort in 2013. By 2014 it included 2500 acres of rural property situated near Williamsburg, VA. The acquired properties are once again becoming farming acreage and managed forests, characteristic of the colonial era.
Unlike most entrepreneurs whose interest New Kent has captured, his intentions have been to protect and preserve.

Moss Side Cottage, part of the Moss Side Manor Estate was in disrepair when purchased in 2014. With the guidance of local craftsmen and talented advisers, the property was revitalized and updated. Moss Side's acres were once in the Poindexter family, from which it was purchased and operated for generations by the Christian family. The Christian family still lives in New Kent and remains close neighbors and friends. The Christian's were pleased to witness the masterful renovation and to see their beloved family homeplace (Moss Side Manor) restored to its original elegance.
