Great location and a beautiful, peaceful setting! We loved seeing wildlife right from the property, and the family had a blast using the game room, hot tub, and fire pit.We rated our stay a 3/5 due to some cleanliness and maintenance items. We had to spend time cleaning the grill, kitchenware, and linens before use, and one blanket had a bad odor. Also, the water pump runs quite loud during showers and flushes, and the kitchen faucet sprays in bursts, which may just be part of mountain well-water living, but is helpful for future guests to know. It’s a wonderful home that just needs a bit more attention to housekeeping to be absolutely perfect.
This house is in a very quiet area, with wildlife trolling through the property, elk and deer. My perception is the house has been empty recently, not a lot of renting going on. It was dusty with cobwebs and such, This seemed like it is owned by a company and not an individual, there were no personal touches, other than a few coffee pods. The game room is well equipped as well as kitchen equipment. The layout was awesome, with huge views of the sky and valley below. The king-size bed on the main level needs a cushioned mattress pad, it is incredibly firm.We weren't disappointed staying here, but we have stayed in better, for the same dollars.
My family and I recently stayed 4 nights at Moose Ridge Lodge. The house had a great central location to everything we wanted to do. It was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed ending each day in the hot tub. We will definitely be returning here for another stay in Fairplay.

The previous review summarized well our experience also, I wish we had seen it before booking. The property location was beautiful and the layout of the house worked really well for two families with young kids. We got to see a mama moose and her babies run out back and that was really special.Unfortunately the house needs a serious deep clean and refresh. There were a lot of bugs (dead and alive) inside, broken screens/window locks, a lot of dust and questionable detritus on windowsills and other surfaces. The showers had mold and no one felt comfortable using them. The downstairs bedding was stained and had a foul odor. The hot tub was overfilled so that the filter came apart and was sitting at the bottom, lots of bugs and dirt floating around. There were exposed screws on the deck and posts broken off. The property has a lot of potential but did not meet our standards and was expensive for what we got.
Had a wonderful stay with our family!Cabin is very kid friendly with multiple places for kids to go have fun (carpeted loft area with smart TV, basement playroom with foosball table, bunk bed room in basement, great outdoor space to explore and kids loved the playground). Our kids didn't want to leave!Well stocked with everything you need which is such a nice experience. Kitchen was stocked and easy to use, plenty of laundry supplies, etc. When issues or questions did come up the property manager was super responsive and great to work with. Our favorite bit - location, location, location! We came for fall color viewing and were pleasantly surprised to find that the drive in to the neighborhood, and straight outside the cabin, was full of stunning Aspen views! (Our photos below have the views on the property)The only knock, literally, was the boiler is a bit old and the pipes knocked when it kicked on. Sounds like it should be fixed soon, but if you're a light sleeper you might bring earplugs.Beautiful location and cozy setup for anyone, but definitely our best travel experience we've had with small kids. We will definitely stay again if we're back in the area.
