About a 4 block walk or ride from the house to the beach!

This house has 1000 sf, with 3 upstairs bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms (1 with a deep Jacuzzi upstairs), living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, and a 2 unit laundry area. You'll be all set to enjoy your vacation in a house that offers enough room to spread out and relax while not feeling cramped. We wanted this to feel like a 'home away from home' and I think we've succeeded. This is a kid and dog friendly home and will accommodate a large gathering of adults as well.

Large parties who are staying overnight, may also wish to rent the trailer that is located at the far end of the driveway. It is fully functional for sleeping and has three different sleeping surfaces and restroom facilities. Cost for trailer is $50.00 cleaning fee and $30.00 per night rental rate.

Our main living area was designed with an open feeling. We have installed a three piece sectional and have two recliners for your comfort. We understand that sometimes folks just like to stay connected, we have Wifi and a computer set-up in the living room along with a color printer for your use. We have installed a stair lift to the second floor for our mobility challenged guests for comfortable bedroom access.

The living room, dining room, and kitchen all flow together but are also distinctly separate rooms. The dining room has a large table with 8 chairs for those really large family meals and games. We have a supply of card and board games for your use as well as a library of over 200 movies. The house has internet capability so you can use your Netflix account or others like Hulu to view your movie choices.

The house has central air heating and a pellet stove, if you desire to have a more romantic evening in front of the 43 inch HD television. We also have a stereo system there along with DVD and VHS players and a library of items for your use.

The house has a 50 gallon hot water heater and an additional 300 gallon water tank, so plan accordingly if you have additional visitors. The closet downstairs and the upstairs bathroom have plenty of extra towels and bedding for your use. We do not supply beach towels, so if you wish those for your beach trip, please bring from home.

Our kitchen is fully equipped with an electric range/oven, George Forman grill, microwave, sink (with filtered water), refrigerator, and dishwasher. It also has pots/pans, baking dishes, waffle iron, crock pot, toaster, blender, milk shake maker, vacuum sealer and coffee maker. We don't miss a beat when we cook in this kitchen and we're sure you won't either.

There is a large storage closet where we house extra blankets, towels and supplies for the bedrooms.

Upstairs, there is a bedroom that has a queen sized bed with 24" television with a DVD player and an android TV box and is located next to the master bath with Jacuzzi. You will also find portable heaters, fans and plenty of room for hanging up your clothes.

Right next door is the king size bedroom which also has the toddler bed which can be used as a surface for storing luggage if you don't have a toddler. This room also has a 24" television with a DVD player and an android TV box. The closet in this room has additional blankets for your use.

Both of these bedrooms have recliners for relaxing in solitude if you brought a book and wanted to bet away to read.

The loft bedroom has a Posturepedic pillow tops in the XL single over and queen under bed along with a desk area for the children to sit at. This room also has a 42 inch screen and VHS capability with an android TV box to access all of your streaming content including Kodi service.

Additionally, (we have a library of over 200 movies of which approximately 100 children's items you may use) and many games for the children to enjoy. Games are located in the stairs to the XL bed on top.

We do have two additional, single mattresses, plus two folding camping pads that we throw on the floor for those times when we have 'extra' kids/guests. I am not sure that happens to you, but it happens to us all the time! The upstairs bathroom is stocked with additional sheets for all of the beds.

The attached garage has a half bath, bar-b-que, clam tubes, children's toys, kites and a chest freezer for your “catch of the day” as well as a utility area that has two washers and two dryers for those times you get a little wetter at the beach than you had planned. . . . . . . .

Outside, in the front is a covered porch with a fenced front yard for those times you wish to just sit out and enjoy the solitude. There are chairs and tables on each side for relaxing outdoors or if you wish to eat outside in a covered area. (Total of 4 chairs & 2 tables) with additional chairs in the garage for your use.

We have installed a separate smoking/fish hut with running water and a fish/clam cleaning station for your convenience as well as an external shower nozzle where you can wash the sand off your feet before entering the house.

We have placed a fixed ashtray in there by the seats for those that wish to light up. An additional receptacle is located near the garage door to keep cigarette butts from being deposited in the driveway gravel.

The extra wide graveled driveway has ample parking accommodations for multiple vehicles and an RV!! We have power and water available for your RV guests and the RV unit that is on-site is available for rental as an additional sleeping space as well. There is also a wheelchair friendly ramp which leads to the entry door of the house.

When entering the house, be sure to shake any sand off of your shoes on the floor grate at the front door, otherwise, we recommend sweeping daily as the sand finds it's way in on a regular basis.

GOOGLE MAPS PICTURES ARE AT LEAST 10 YEARS OLD!!! OUR MAPS ARE ACCURATE.

The large back yard has two separate fire pits and picnic tables with plenty of outside seating space and we have another picnic table under the car port for your use or to sit out and be covered during rainy weather.

There is also a horse shoe pit for your use. Horse shoes are located in the garage next to the dart board. Foam covers have been placed on each one of the horse shoe rings to insure that no one hurts themselves. We ask that you replace these when you are done playing to insure the safety for all.

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in this house for Rod Run weekend 4 years in a row & every year it seems to get Better & better . The house is well equipped always clean . There were eight of this year 3 of the guys could not make it so we had lots of room . The fire pit in the back yard is always ready for a fire. There is plenty of parking. This year we showed three cars & had seven cars there altogether. We look forward to our stay each year.

Adequate

  • 2 of 5

My first impression, what a dump and wished I had reservations elsewhere. Let me explain. Upon entering the house you will notice a dimly lit kitchen/livingroom. Then you notice the wornout sectional. The fridge had a full shelf of condimenrs from pasr customers. Same in the shower, a full shelf of old shampoo on the caddie. The freezer in the garage was 1/2 full of freezer burnt costco sized spuds+. I worried the 500 gallon water system contained in the garage but stained dark brown on the inside would run dark brown water in the house. The pump on the water system kept a guest awake at night due to the motor turning off and on. There are indeed 3 bathrooms. One is sink/toilet and found in the garage. There is one full with a stained shower and one with a stained jaccuzi=like tub that did not interest us. We wondered if the bed sheets had been washed? There was laundry left in the dryer for us to fold and dishes left in the dishwasher. The dishwasher somehow works as the door has been screwed together.

Not a total loss. Some visitors may enjoy the tons of kid games, the supply of chairs in the garage or the ton of white towels or the extra mattresses in the closet. We left feeling like the house reminded me of a cluttered, dirty home.

Instant improvements may include; a new sectional, toss extra items on shower shelf & kitchen.

We left feeling this home was adequate and kind of grows on you, but we likely would not return.

Owner's Response: I am so sorry that you were not happy with your stay. I would like to address your issues, some have merit for sure. Our cleaner is now removing the used soaps and items. Often times, our guests forget theirs and they have the option of using or not, that which was left previously. The same with the condiments, it is all a matter of choice and the majority have not had an issue. She has cleaned out the freezer in the garage, this is for the use of the clients and apparently some items have been left over. As to the water system, the house is on a well, the water comes into the holder and runs through a carbon micron filter to clean the iron out of the water before it enters the house and goes through the faucets. I am sure you noted that the water coming out of the faucets was not tinted. As to the shower and the jacuzzi tub having iron streaks, these were there when we took over the property and we insure that while their may be a stain, they are thoroughly cleaned before each tenant arrives. We are sorry that things were left in the dryer and dishwasher, when we have fast turn-arounds, in order to insure that they are clean, she does them. Sorry that it was a problem for you to deal with these. The dishwasher was damaged by a prior client and we fixed it the best way we could to insure usage of the dishwasher by future clients. As to the sound coming from the water system, we have taken steps to create a room around the system with egg crate insulation to insure this does not happen again. As to the living room sofa, that was put in place this summer as a result of damage done by previous clients to the ones we had before. We do not see the need to place new items up there in a hurry, but we do insure that the items are usable. Not sure what your issue was other than it had been used before. As far as I know, the recliners still worked and the leather was not torn open. We generally change the lighting as you enter the house as well as the music. We will investigate having more lighting as you enter. I wish you luck in finding a place you are happier with on your future visit to the beach. Regards, Darlene

Not as clean as we'd like to have

  • 2 of 5

Based on the other rave reviews they may have had an issue with the cleaning service. There was food from other visitors on the kitchen counters when we arrived, a bowl of spaghetti sauce or salsa still in the fridge. Soap containers were empty. Lots of old shampoos and soaps from previous stays in the bathrooms. There was sand in the master bedroom blankets that got into the sheets and a puddle of sand under the pillow in the top bunk. The queen bedroom didn't have any sheets on the bed and late at night we had to go search for some, we found them in a tangled pile in one of the closets and had to pull out a bunch to find the right size. These things the first night spoiled the rest of the stay as we were wondering "what next". If we had been truly using it for a family reunion and hauling in our own sand we would have been more relaxed about it, but we were at a family reunion at another location in Ocean Park and just used it for sleeping. On the other hand, if you are looking for a house that fits lots of people, this is it. We knew what we were getting from the photos, that the furniture was old and weren't expecting the Ritz, but the cleaning could have been better.
