Overview

About the property

Accommodations: The TreeHouse is a spacious two bedroom stilt home with a king size bed in the master bedroom with a ½ bath and two additional single beds in the second bedroom. It sleeps 4 to 5 comfortably with a roll away tucked under one of the single beds in case you need it. This property has a nicely done kitchen, a shower for two in the main bath, and is very airy and light. The Kitchen is ready to use with complete sets of dishes, pots and pans, silverware, stove, microwave, coffee pot and utensils and a local grocery store can provide what you need. A washer and dryer combo is in the kitchen. Linens and towels are provided also. Cable is provided as well as Wi-Fi. Two porches look out over the water and the front porch was literally built around two oak trees, hence the name TreeHouse.

Spectacular views of the gulf, especially at sunset are seen from both the dining and living rooms or enjoy it from the front porch while sitting in one of two canvas swing chairs or laying in the relaxing canvas hammock which hangs from the ceiling. A boat dock out back on the canal allows fisherman to keep their boats in the water, but watch the tides to ensure enough water flow to get out to the gulf when ready to fish. This property is located on a commercial fishing/clamming canal in the back as well as the Gulf of Mexico in the front making it a unique property in a one-of-a-kind town. Like to fish but didn’t bring a boat, you can fish and crab right from our dock or join others on the new huge fishing dock downtown. Crab traps are on the dock, just remember to bring them in from the water when you go! We are also pet friendly with a small extra fee to accommodate your best friend. Covered parking is available under the second porch and the property can handle multiple cars.

The walk to town and the city’s beach is a leisurely 20 minutes along picturesque streets. Some guests rent golf carts in town to explore the entire island. The natural beauty of Cedar key and its slow pace allow visitors to feel what old Florida must have been like years ago allowing for very restful vacations. Whether you are here to just relax, sit and read a book, kayak, fish or just to enjoy the diverse wildlife, The TreeHouse can accommodate you comfortably.

Cedar Key hosts several festivals during the year so get your reservations early if you plan to attend one as the town fills up fast on those weekends. Special events include the Seafood Festival in October, the Art Festival in April, the Small Craft Boat Festival, the ClamAmerica celebration on the 4th of July and a kayak festival in September.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I was going to e-mail you and tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. The town was interesting, the seafood was delicious and the neighbors were friendly. And your house was beautifully equipped and was very comfortable.

Thanks for working hard to make our stay wonderful.

Wonderful place, very relaxing

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful place! Very quiet, beautiful views. The house is impeccable and much closer to town than what we thought.

We did have a problem with the grass as it had these "prickly" plants in it but Bill sent someone over right away to rectify the situation.

We hope to go back again.

Great family fun 5 July days

  • 5 of 5

We took the boat out every day. Saw big turtles around snake key and regular dolphin shows. Used a chum bag anchored in channels out of the way behind islands, to shark fish. Wow what a hoot. It was our first time shark fishing we will do it again but not any time soon. One of those things that's great to do once in a while. Some type of shade a must in July, Big hat at a minimum.

July at the Treehouse Great Fun.

Nice house with more accommodations than the average rental

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our weekend getaway here at the Treehouse. We brought our kayaks and had fun exploring the nearby islands. This town was very nice and we plan to come back again. Oh yeah, this house has a double headed shower and made for a nice surprise.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

The house was nice and very clean. The kids loved fishing off the dock at the back of the house. They even caught a fish. The house is in a nice town. Over all a nice homey feeling to the entire stay. Didn't want to go back to reality.
