Appalachian Lady Bug is a 17-year-old home built by local craftsmen. The cabin is adorned with reclaimed barn wood, handcrafted metal work, masonry and woodwork. The result is a true taste of Appalachia, yet it hosts all the conveniences of a modern home. The amount of artistic detail and variety of wood and stone used in the construction of the cabin give it a purely “one of a kind” feel. The cabin is newly renovated and decorated in folk art from the area. This property is uniquely nestled in the National Forest which can be observed from the covered porch and an outdoor kitchen area which opens into a large patio and fire pit.

About Sarah Reynolds
Hi folks! Thank you for your interest in my cabin. A bit about me... I am a native Georgia girl, a mom, a wife and a librarian (no bun and glasses for me, though!) My husband and I live 30 minutes from the cabin with our 2 children and our crazy dog Mangus.
Sarah Reynolds purchased this Cabin in 1999
Why Sarah Reynolds chose Dahlonega
This house is near and dear to me, and I lived here for 12 years. After re-marrying, my husband and I wanted to keep the place and thought it would be great to fix it up and share it with others. It is one of those places that just makes you feel good. While the inside is lovely, I have probably spent more hours on the porch just 'being' than anywhere else. It is cool in the summer, lush in the spring, glorious in fall, and as cozy as can be in the winter.

Very nice, hideaway in the mountains
Cabin was very cute with the nicest decor that remind me of "old" times. House is really high up the mountain, about 20 minutes from "town" but so peaceful. We enjoyed the stay, only negative was one of the beds squeaked really bad and was uncomfortable and the grill was too filthy to use. The fire pit was enjoyable, we made smores. Hike up to see one of the many waterfalls around the area. I've recommended this place to family and friends already.
Great for family
We found the property serene and full of character, yet perfect for our little family. G
The kids lived sleeping in the lofts, eating on the porch, and the selection of Disney movies on those strange tape things (VHS tapes!). Not to mention it was a good location to access many of the hiking places in the area.
Quaint and quiet!
We loved this cottage! The pictures on VRBO really do not do it justice. Gorgeous woodwork, eclectic art throughout, and nestled in the woods. We had an excellent stay and will definitely be back. Just about a 20 minute drive to downtown Dahlonega and 50 minutes or so to Helen.
eclectic cabin in the woods so peaceful & relaxing. Huge deck & covered porch.
We felt at home at 1st site and the dogs too. We saw all kinds of wildlife. Turtle, a king snake, butterflies. A wren had a nest in the tree by the porch. We mostly stayed at the cabin but ventured to Helen one day with the dogs. It was great!!! Our last night me & my hubby went to Dahlonega square in the old town near the University. We walked around, bought chocolates and ate at Spirit Tavern. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip.
Charmingly comfortable with unique local flair.
This was the third visit for my sister and me. We love hiking at Amaicolola Falls and the town of Dahlonega. The cabin is just perfect with two separate bedrooms and baths. The weather was perfect and to be surrounded by nature was very relaxing. We will be back next year for the 4th.
Peace and quiet
I spent a truly peaceful and marvelous weekend with my 3 sisters at this precious hideaway as we celebrated my birthday. What a great spot! The deck was so wonderfully spacious and the lower level with the fire-pit was perfect! Couldn't ask for a more perfect weekend! Even the weather cooperated although rain was predicted at 80%!! Don't hesitate to stay here even though is out from town a wee bit. The short drive is lovely!
The location of the cabin offers seclusion, yet is easily accessible to active vacationers. It is located only 4 miles from Amicolola State Park, 12 miles from Dahlonega, and 15 miles from Dawsonville. The immediate area offers a myriad of outdoor activities including hiking, hunting, horseback riding, and fishing, but is also a great place to just sit and read a book.
