Overview

About the property

4 Bedroom, 4 Baths, Fireplace, 360 Degree Spacious Lounging Deck

The main benefits of “Hodge Lodge” are LOCATION and VIEW.

LOCATION: Our house is about 1 mile from stores and restaurants. It borders Tonto National Forest at the end of Pine View Dr. on the eastern slope of Strawberry Mountain. The area is secluded and peaceful with lots of wildlife.

VIEW: The view is really nice. You see the whole valley and have a clear view of the Mogollon Rim. When you are on the upper deck you are nearly at tree top level and nothing will block your view. The night sky and stars are breathtaking.

The house has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms that will sleep 8 in beds and for additional sleep options we have a futon in the fireplace room and sleeping pads in the loft.

The fourth bedroom is the apartment which has a private access from the back of the house with the following amenities. King size bed, bathroom with shower, microwave, refrigerator, private patio, WiFi, 42 inch flat screen with satellite TV, and two recliner chairs

.

This spacious chalet has (2500 sq. ft.) of living space and almost 2000 sq. ft. of outside decking nestled in the forest. It is a very relaxing and peaceful place. Everything you would need to prepare meals or just relax is furnished.

This house is located at the end of a well maintained gravel road. It is one of the highest locations in Pine situated on the east slope of Strawberry Mountain. The view is spectacular. The upper level deck raps around the house for 360 degree view of the area. Our living room is within feet of the Tonto national forest. You would be totally surrounded by tall Ponderosa pines. There is lots of wildlife small and large to view. (Elk, Deer, Coyotes and a variety of small game)

We are within walking distance to antique shops, restaurants, bars, library, community center and playground. Pine/Strawberry host several seasonal arts and crafts festivals, rodeos and other special events. There are many hiking, mountain biking and riding trails. Go horseback riding, golfing, fishing or swimming in the creeks/rivers. Pine has much to offer such as antique shops, restaurants, specialty stores, arts and craft festivals and other special events.

You would be 90 minutes north of Phoenix

157 miles hours from the Grand Canyon

5 miles for the north side of the Mogollon Rim

13 miles from Payson which has golf, airport, Restaurants, Movies, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and lots of locally owned shops.

88 miles to Snow Bowl ski resort, Flagstaff, AZ.

7 miles to The Tonto Natural Bridge is a must see

Just steps away are many trails in the national forest

40 miles to great fishing in the many rim lakes

20 miles to swimming in Fossil Creek

5 miles to horseback riding

Cozy home in the heart of Pine with great views

  • 5 of 5

My family had a wonderful time at this house. My son and his cousin (both 3 year olds) loved the sandbox and the playroom. I highly recommend this vrbo to anyone with young children who can handle stairs. Just be sure to supervise out on the deck, which was also a wonderful place to sit any time of day. Great kitchen amenities also.

Enjoyed the property wonderful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our family reunion, the views are beautiful, hiking right out their back door. Many levels to the house to spread out and enjoy reading playing games, bird watching, elk spotting, nice to recharge your batteries.

Great views from 360 degree balconies

  • 3 of 5

Our family of 10 included seven adults and three under the age of 20. This property would be more suitable for four adults and six children. The apartment which is accessible from outside is two staircases from the living area. The advertised entrance stairs is not safe and the garage exit stairs is difficult for older adults. The property could use some TLC, but for the price it is a good deal. We enjoyed our stay in Pine which is a quaint little town with plenty to do within a few hours. The pizza at the Old Country Inn is some of the best we have ever eaten.

Owner's Response: Hello Martha, Thank you for the review. Because the house is built on the side of Strawberry Mountain and has four levels steps are numerous. We strive to keep the house in good repair and have added hand rails to all stairs to improve safety. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay and experienced the beautiful scenery the house's location provides. Kind regards, Ken and Karen

A peaceful and serene retreat

  • 4 of 5

We came with a group of friends who planned various activities together. The house is spacious and allows for individuals or couples to have their own space while offering ample opportunity for subgroups to come together and socialize. The view is breath taking, one is surrounded by trees and can see wildlife such as birds and squirrels, or stars in the night. It is a beautiful place.

Thank you to the owners for opening their vacation home to others to enjoy.

Exceeded all expectations!

  • 5 of 5

My Wife, 3.5 year old son and my self stayed at here and where blown away by its location. Views for days, Huge wrap around Deck with many different view points. Very spacious and comfortable! Beyond Kid friendly!!! The kid room in loft and Sand box blew our kiddos mind. He cried his eyes out when we left. Still talks about the Cabin in Pine. The owners are more than professional & responsive. We have stayed in VRBOs all over the country and this is def been the top 3 we have been too. If we do not end up buying a cabin in Pine we will be staying here every trip up.

Owner's Response: Hi Matthew, Thank you for the great review. There are two things about the house that sets it apart and you have touched on both of them. The view is breath taking and the house has many places so the guest can spread out to have their own space to relax. We would love to have you return anytime. Our grand kids and border collie also object when they have to come home. Ken
