Take pleasure in our condo on the banks of the San Miguel River! This unit is located on the third (top) floor which affords views of the San Miguel River, the box canyon, Bear Creek trail, and Telluride ski area. Also, enjoy music events from Town Park. All from the large corner balcony and wall of east-facing windows.

Relax in our quiet condo with a queen pillow top bed, leather couch (converts to a queen bed), flat screen televisions, and corner balcony. Skiers/boarders, as well as mountain bikers and hikers have lift access 4 blocks away. Hikers and bikers also have access to trails right from the property. About Kristin

We came to Telluride in 2000 for our honeymoon and fell in love with this place. We now reside in Durango, but have been frequenting the Telluride area for several years now. We love to ski, snowboard, kite ski, xc ski, hike, mountain and road bike. This is definitely such a great place to do all of these things and more!

Kristin purchased this condo in 2013

Why Kristin chose Telluride Area

Because, if you don't stay with us, you'll wish you did!

What makes this condo unique

This location is perfect for all seasons. We enjoy falling asleep to the sound of the river on summer nights. The balcony provides beautiful views of the changing Aspen in the fall. During the winter we enjoy the close proximity of the chairlift. In the spring, when the water is flowing fast, we take in views of several waterfalls in the canyon. Finally, we love leaving the car parked for a week at a time, since we can walk or ride our bikes everywhere!

We loved the views, the deck, the hot tub, and most of all the convenience to town. Easy walk to shopping and food. Very well kept, clean and updated place. Would stay here again!

Spectacular Views and Cozy Comfort

  • 5 of 5

We celebrated our anniversary in Telluride and truly enjoyed our stay in Kristin's Muscatel Flat unit. The views from the livng room and kitchen are amazing. The deck is a perfect place to relax after a day on the slopes. The unit is just steps away from the park, shopping, restaurants and the gondola.

Middle class nirvana

  • 5 of 5

In my next life I'm going to be a trust fund baby or a movie star who can afford to live in Telluride. Until that happens staying at Kristin's place at Muscatel Flats will do just fine. The view out the many large windows from the living room and kitchen is world class and sitting on the deck overlooking the wetlands and mountains is worth the price of admission. We were there on a non-festival weekend so noise in the adjoining park was manageable. We had a few questions and Kristin answered them immediately so we didn't feel adrift.

The unit is tastefully appointed and reflects the Telluride outdoor aesthetic, kudos to the owners for giving the place personality. Enjoyed the hot tub and never had to share it in the week we were there. Prefer this unit to Kristin's other place at Viking Lodge as it seems larger and is better located with better views. Overall we had a great week despite a lot of rain and will rent this place again unless we get lucky and win the lotto.

A bit noisy in the summer, but v. nice nonetheless

  • 4 of 5

What other reviewers have said about Muscatel Flats is true. So why not five stars? A minor annoyance, explained below—it mattered to me; it might not to you, depending on when you visit and how your plan your daytime activities.

The unit, a condo on the top floor of a little complex beside the Telluride post office, is comfortable, well maintained and well appointed. My spouse and I cooked in, for example, two of the nights we stayed here and found all the kitchen gear we needed for a basic meal. The unit is also walking distance from pretty much anything you need in town (except the Telluride Brewing Co., which is a few miles away in a little industrial park between Telluride and Mountain Village). And the views from its windows and back deck are a salve for the soul. The complex sits beside the San Miguel River, and there’s a town park on the opposite bank. So the unit’s many windows have unobstructed sight lines to the mountains.

What was the problem? We found the unit noisy in the afternoon. A stretch of the riverbank just outside the unit—I’d be surprised if it’s 100 feet away—seems to serve as a local swimming hole. The three days we stayed here, groups gathered by the river each afternoon, and hubbub ensued. One day, it was teens, shouting and shrieking. The next, it was families with kids, who were quieter than the teens, but they brought their dogs, which weren’t. The third day wasn’t as bad, though still too noisy to nap, which we like to do in the afternoon after we’ve returned from hiking or biking. If you’ll be out all afternoon, you’ll have no worries—the unit was quiet in the morning, and in the evening, it gets a little noise from the ball fields in the park, but nothing bothersome.

If you don’t mind some (summer) noise, I suspect you’ll like this place. Sitting on the deck in the morning with a coffee and taking it the view will likely make you forget about your worries at home. We'd rent it again (though I'd make sure to bring earplugs).

Our condo is very uniquely located adjacent to Town Park, thus making it a great location to enjoy the summer festivals. The gondola and Lift 8 are also just a short walk in the winter.
