About Gisele Plouffe
Hi! We are Gisele Plouffe and Guy Keller and are the owners of this property. We also live on the premises. Gisele is a local real estate agent at Sotheby's International Realty in Los Feliz, and Guy is a General Contractor. Silver Lake has been our home for about 15 years and we love it here. Gisele is an LA native and Guy is a mid-west transplant of 30 years, which makes him a native as well. The other resident of the property is our cat 'Pepi le pew'. He can be seen roaming the property. The two of us have restored many property's back to their original glory. Dahlia Lodge is just one of them. It is our passion to bring these old residences back to life!

Why Gisele Plouffe chose Silver Lake
Los Angeles as well as Silver Lake is our home. We LOVE it here! We chose this area because it has a great diversity of people, architecture, history, art, cafes, restaurants, and nature. We are close to downtown, midtown and the beach. We can be in the desert in a couple of hours, any local beaches or skiing on snow in the same amount of time. We have it all here along with great weather.
What makes this Lodge unique
When we first bought this property, everyone that walked into the Lodge said 'WOW'. It has that 'WOW' factor! We bought it from a mature lady who had let the lodge run down, Guy & I lovingly restored it back to its original glory. It is surrounded by windows on all sides and the sunset views are beautiful from there. We know anyone staying there will enjoy it and return to stay.

Cute place to stay for a weekend!
We loved staying at the Lodge. It was equipped with everything we needed for a long weekend. Walking distance to downtown Silver Lake. The one con was walking back up those hills :) . Great little studio to stay in. Highly reccomend!
I am a returning guest and, as always, this extremely unique quiet lodge is my favorite LA stay. There is absolutely nothing that is not provided,
the place is retro chic and charming.
Will of course be back soon!
Cozy Bungalow With Drawbacks
This property is in a great neighborhood, close to good restaurants and easy access to the city of LA. The bungalow is a bit too cozy and funky, with poor lighting -- if you like to read. The steps down to the property are dangerous, with plants jutting out and uneven cement. The VRBO ad does not mention the credit card service fee that the owner charges; one finds this fee when the owner will not agree to one renting unless that is paid. I have never encountered this before and it seems a bit greedy.
Thank you for staying at the lodge. The lodge has built in wall sconces, overhead lighting, floor lamps and table top lamps. Sorry if you felt there was not enough light to read.
As for the credit card charge, I take offense at being called greedy! VRBO has a third party that collects credit card payments. This way neither the owner or the website have your credit card information. This third party charges a 2.5% credit card fee to use their services. You as the traveler pay the fee to use your credit card. I do not pay this fee for guests, nor do I collect the nominal fee for my pocket. This is a standard VRBO fee. Perhaps you could have asked me about the fee instead of insulting me?

Very cute little Cottage, convenient to everything.
The cottage is well-equipped and very private. 15 minutes to Dodger Stadium and 15 minutes to the Greek Theater.

This home is located in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles. Silver Lake is in the East Hollywood Hills area of LA. Forbes magazine called Silver Lake number one of 'America's Best Hipster neighborhoods'. Celebrated modernist as well as varied architecture, local farmers markets, shops and cafes are everywhere. A multicultural blend of residents with electric professionals and a booming arts scene. The Lake (which is a reservoir in City terms) has a walking path surrounding it, with a dog park and recreation center at the South end. Local attractions include the Hollywood Sign, Griffith Observatory, LA Zoo, Greek Theater, Hollywood walk of fame, and Hollywood & Highland. Silver Lake is also Downtown LA close, for the many attractions to be seen there. The owners live on the property as well, and are available to recommend good eating spots and many local must sees! The home is situated North of Sunset Boulevard in a lovely residential neighborhood. It is walking distance to the farmers market, as well as cafe's, eateries and bars.

Rental rates may increase on Holiday weekends (i.e. Labor day, Memorial, Thanksgiving ...) Seasonal rental rates may apply from Dec. 19-Jan. 7, 2014. Please ask owner for a quote.
