Set on a private 9-acre estate with a river shoreline, Silver Heron House is 30 minutes from the North Shore’s white sand beaches and national park trails. It’s also close to world-class golf courses and is Canada Select approved.

Perched on York Point Cove, this vacation rental is perfect for families or romantic getaways. It features a river-view swimming pool with a deck and private cove beach access just a 3-minute walk away. Enjoy beachcombing, birdwatching (including Great Blue Herons, blue jays, and hummingbirds), and stunning views from the BBQ deck.

This unique two-story home is set on expansive grounds with gardens and located down a private, tree-lined lane. With cathedral ceiling and a full kitchen, it offers three bedrooms (2 on the main floor and a large master suite upstairs), two bathrooms, and a living room with a sandstone fireplace. Amazing and cozy!

This fun and funky house feels like the kind of house you should stay in if you travel to Prince Edward Island. Comfy beds, a pool, a sauna, cool antiques and beautiful art. What more could you ask for?! Highly recommend. We asked to build a fire one night and they brought over all that we would need. So kind. Have fun!

My husband and I and our dog had the best time. We loved the house and the location. We had the beach ,lawn, and pool all to ourselves. The pool was so wonderful and the house was lovely. What a lovely experience we had on PEI

Fantastic cottage near Cornwall

Stayed for one week with my wife, two friends, and a small dog. Perfect for a group this size as the larger bedroom is upstairs which allows for some separation/privacy. Beautiful patio with a shaded pergola that overlooks the pool, which was also a treat on a hot day. The cottage provided some pool noodles, lots of towels, and there's a "pool roomba" that helps clean it up day to day that's easy to use. Kitchen was pretty well stocked - we rarely needed something they didn't have but as with all rentals if you have a specific thing/need you should ask. As some previous reviews mentioned negatives I thought I'd address some - 1) Bugs/mosquitoes: Yes, at various times of day the lawn has mosquitoes but it's a cottage, I'm not sure what people expect? Once we applied bug spray we had zero issues. 2) TV/Netflix: There is cable TV but you can't log in to netflix/prime. Again, you're renting a cottage so go for a walk, play a board game, or read, BUT if you have kids and "need" this I'd suggest bringing your own iPad (wifi was great). 3) Heat: Someone previously complained it was hot and we arrived on a seriously hot/humid day but were totally fine with the windows all open and fans on. Plus there is a pool! It typically cooled off in evenings, even on hot days. To be clear - none of these were our issues, just things I read in previous reviews that I thought others could benefit from another perspective. We loved the place and will almost certainly rebook! Thank you!

The Silver Heron house was a perfect place to stay for our week exploring beautiful PEI. The house was clean, welcoming, comfortable and well appointed. The pool was great as we seemed to pick the hottest week of the summer to visit! We were sad to leave this beautiful home.

Loved the location and the house and the yard and little beach area on the river/cove. I do think somewhere in the listing it says AC but I don't think there is AC? It was not an issue for us but it is a little confusing. Teenagers/young adults in family loved the property as well. Peaceful and relaxing spot!

Perfect Peaceful Vacation

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Silver Heron House. The house is located close to Charlottetown with just a short drive but is peaceful and quiet. We loved sitting outside under the pergola and swimming in the pool after a busy day of sightseeing.

Perfect oasis with charming backyard

We (5 adults and a dog), loved the silver heron. The kitchen was well equipped. We bought local seafood, fish and PEI potatoes and our chefs prepared two incredible dinners. The pool was perfect. We didn’t want to leave!

awesome spot

the house is secluded yet conveniently located. It's a huge property and connects directly to the water. My dogs loved being off leash the entire time we were there. I was looking for relaxation and some quiet time and this property was perfect for it. Charlottetown is just 20 min drive away and has lots of shops, restaurants and museums. The property manager was very helpful and very responsive to any questions I had.

PEI Retreat

Nice stay.

Nice quiet location close to Charlottetown. Beautiful grounds. We did take day trips everyday. Love this island. Bathrooms need updates but a very comfortable place yo stay. Our dogs loved it too.

This place is fantastic!

We really needed a “getaway “ to unwind and relax and this place was more than we even thought we could get. The property itself with 9 acres with privacy and lawn stretches right down to the shore. There’s a beautiful water view at the end of a very long lush law. (Say that fast )😜 Between the pool and sauna along with the wood burning fireplace at night it was perfect. We ended up staying an extra night we idiot want to leave. We will be back next summer for sure to take our family with us next time as there are 3 nice bedrooms in this place as well.

Beautiful Property!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at The Silver Heron property. The property is very peaceful and well maintained. The location is great as you’re close to Charlottetown. The pool was fantastic and used throughout our whole stay. We would definitely go back and stay again!

Fabulous Vacation Hideaway

This property is a fantastic secluded gem just on the other side of the bay from Charlottetown. It’s mere minutes from most conveniences, and is easy driving distance from most PEI attractions like Cavendish, and Summerside. The house is cozy, and well equipped with everything you’ll need, including a BBQ and coffee maker. The pool is heated, and in case it’s not warm enough, there is a sauna. The private beach has lots of wildlife including herons and seashells. The house is bright, and lots of windows to let the breeze flow through. I would definitely stay again. For the record, there are no more mosquitos here than any other waterfront property or beach on PEI (that’s life!)

A Special Nest

Our family of four chose this home for our first visit to PEI. It was just what we needed for our vacation! The home was lovely, clean, well equipped, private, spacious, and provided a chance to relax. We very much enjoyed the deck and pool but also the sweet space inside. It felt comfortable from the moment we walked through the door and was hard to leave. We did leave a few times during the week to explore the island and each evening when we returned we felt good coming back to our home for the week. Though the house is affectionately named the Silver Heron, I began to refer to it as “our vacation nest” while we were there. The property owner was easy to communicate with (though we didn’t need much or have lots of questions, as we have done VBRO a few times). The property manager was very accommodating and available on the couple of occasions we needed to ask something. We hope to retun one day. For anyone reading this wondering about bugs, they come with summertime in PEI. We didn’t find them unmanageable (especially while at the house). However, we’re Vermonters so perhaps not as easily phased by them. Just bring along some bug repellent and you’ll likely be fine.

Mosquitoes, mice, but good service

We arrived to the house being 40 degrees. That’s not the fault of Chris or Cynthia because of the unseasonably warm week but there is no AC so it was a hot week. If you have kids be warned. The mosquitoes are so bad the yard and the beach are not usable. We had to alert Chris and Cynthia twice because of mice and/or rats. They were fast in sending pest control but left poison bait traps all around the house. Chris & Cynthia were very good to respond right away but leaving poison around the house was very worrisome with us having a 2 year old and 5 month old in the house.

The most amazing Wedding Week

We had the best day week at Silver Heron House. It was beautiful and we look forward to staying there again. The location, property and pool were perfect! The evenings were cool which even allowed us to have a cozy night by the fire! We will be back!
