Absolute CHARM-Spacious Remodeled Barn~Garden with Guadalupe River View + Access

The Carriage House is a converted Barn located in the owner's gated compound. The barn was previously used to stable horses and store carriages for the family. The entire house has been recently renovated and redecorated. The owners are Antique dealers and travel to France and England to shop for their business. Ray is also a realtor with deep experience in the Hill Country and Carolyn is an award-winning artist and has a studio in the compound.

The home is furnished with European Antiques with modern touches. Guests love the charm and character of the home and garden. The garden is enclosed by a fence with antique gates from Europe. It has seating around a gas fire pit, tables and chairs for outside dining, umbrellas, gas grill, garden art from Europe, two covered porches, and a large deck with a view of the Guadalupe River. Guest love the wildlife and the scenic view of the river and rolling hills. The river is a short walk down the hill to a picturesque walking park along with huge cypress trees lining the river. River equipment is available to rent near or you may bring your own and enjoy the river.

The Carriage House features an open concept that includes the living room, dining area, and kitchen. It is very private and the design of tall french entry doors and a wall of window to the garden allows exquisite light into the house.

Flat-screen televisions in the living room and the master bedroom. Free Wi-Fi is provided for our guests.

This is a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Hill Country and visit places like Comfort, Fredericksburg, Bandera, and Hunt. All a short drive. Great restaurants located in Kerrville (5 minutes to downtown) and other easily driveable areas.

There is a full kitchen with all appliances including a coffee maker. The refrigerator has an ice maker.

If you are looking for a romantic weekend away, a girl's get-a-way, a family Hill Country Adventure or possibly a small wedding have found a place that will create special memories for you and your loved ones.

Charming Carriage House

Enjoyed our stay at the Carriage House. The owners were precious and we loved visiting with them. They were extremely accommodating and the house was so cute with its unique touches. We also enjoyed the nice little walk down to the river. We definitely plan to stay again when back in the area!

Excellent stay at an amazing property. Ray & Carolyn were very accommodating allowing us to change our dates due to family priorities. The property and cottage are amazing. Easy to access, well appointed and decorated in a French style that’s second to none. Truly a refreshing and wonderful stay hosted by very generous, accommodating and kind hosts. Highly recommend!

A Real Retreat

This is a spacious and tastefully decorated, comfortable stay. A lovely combination of rustic charm with all the perks. A lovely view out the back and a well appointed back porch with seating and a grill to enjoy it. We hope to return soon. Carolyn and Ray are very gracious and considerate hosts.

Great place

This carriage house was very nice , clean and a beautiful setting. The back patio is huge with plenty of lighting and views of the river. Ray and Carolyn could not have been nicer they gave us restaurant tips and sights to see. The Texas Hill country is a great place to visit. We would not hesitate to stay at the carriage house again . Perfect!

I cannot say enough good things about this property. it was, in a word, perfect. Beautiful inside and out with a private entrance and a very secluded feel even though the homeowners are fairly close. Such a beautiful home!

Our visit was short and a busy one that we didn’t even get a chance to meet Mr. Ray the host. but he was very responsive to our check-in details to make sure we didn’t get lost or if we had any questions or concerns about our stay. but we sure loved the guest house!! it was so private and spacious for us to stay at! We loved everything about it and specially how close it is to town! We sure will come back to stay another time if it’s available on next visit to kerrville!

Eclipse viewing trip

Our host was wonderful. He met us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the carriage house as well as of his property. He brought us eclipse glasses. He recommended excellent places to eat. The carriage house was lovely and very convenient for us. And it was only about a five minute walk from his backyard to the Guadalupe riverbank and adjacent open field dog park. Overall, everything was delightful.

EXCELLENT!!!

All we can say is EXCELLENT about everything! Ray is such a sweet and gracious host. The house was perfect for our mini family reunion with my mother and myself in one room and my aunt and uncle in another. We had a great time and slept so comfortably. Thank you again, Mr. Ray. Excellent. A fun and relaxing experience.

We wanted to explore the Texas Hill Country, and the barn house turned out to be the perfect location to work from. Thank you Ray! The house just immediately felt like home; although, I'm not sure our real home is quite as nice or interesting. The unique house is tastefully decorated, well-furnished, patio space everywhere, personal touches galore, comfortable arrangements, private, secure, easy access, great hosts, serene views..... This is the place to be for visiting the Hill Country and Kerrville. Great experience. Highly recommend.

Missing Texas

Born and raised in Texas and had not been back for a long time. Went to college at San Marcos. Loved being back to the hill country and the vacation rental did not disappoint. I have used vrbo many times and this has to be the best for me! Clean, roomy, beautiful views from the back porch. Walking distance to the river via a park for exercising. The cottage was perfect for my sister and me! Took many drives to all the places I remembered from my college days. Did not want to leave! Hope to be back!

A touch of France in the Texas Hill Country

We chose this VRBO for a quick anniversay trip for several reasons - we are postponing a trip to France due to Covid, and found the Carriage House the perfect substitute close to home! If I hadn't known I was in Kerrville I would have believed I was in France. The entire visit exceeded our expecations for a VRBO in every way - the house itself was not only beautifully decorated, but comfortable in every way. River views and easy access to walking along the Guadalupe added a perfect outdoor touch - along with all the several spaces to have morning coffee, late evening fire chats and al fresco dining. Ray and Carolyn are enjoyable and considerate hosts, full of warm Texas hospitality. We're returning, without doubt!
