Starting Summer 2017 ---- A 20 Foot Pontoon Boat with 40HP 4-stroke motor docked at the cottage is INCLUDED in rental price. This is a fishing/cruise pontoon and will work well for either purpose.
*Brand new bathroom tile/fixtures in Spring 2016*
The cottage has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a full kitchen, a living room, and a screen porch. One bedroom has a full bed, and the other bedroom has 3 beds (a queen and two twins). There are also two additional twin beds located in the old boat house which has been converted to a bunkhouse. There is a firepit onsite which firewood is provided, as well as a gas grill available for use.
Our cabin is only about 25 feet from the water, giving you a great view of the lake. The setting is very private, as you can not see the neighbors on either side of you due to forests. The water is swimmable with a nice sandy bottom.
Columbus Lake is a 600+ Acre lake located in Sugar Camp Wisconsin. The lake has no 'public' access, therefore it does not have heavy fishing pressure or boat traffic like most other lakes. The lake is abundant with walleyes, panfish, perch, northern pike, and muskie. The shoreline is a sandy bottom, with some reeds surrounding the dock located at the cottage. .
***Two Kayaks are now provided at no additional cost***
**There is no public boat landing on this lake. It is typically NOT possible to launch your own boat**
***Pets are considered with pre-approval - There is a $50 per pet fee (for your entire stay, not per night)***

Very nice lake cottage.
My wife and I stayed here the last week in September. The cottage has many plusses and only a few minusses. On the plus side: total seclusion, total quiet, great pontoon boat, nice kayaks, good Crappie fishing, clean well-equipped cabin, close to everything, lots of deer, resident eagle and loons, nice screen porch. very helpful and responsive owner. On the minus side: very little space for hanging up clothes and outer-wear, only one dresser, small water heater-can’t do two showers in a row, small TV with very limited selection. ( we watched old Lucy Shows and Laugh-In) Then again, the TV is not why you come to this area and specifically this cabin. So, we’ll definately be coming back as the plusses far outweighed the minusses.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again.
Great place to disconnect for a while.
This was our first stay and it was a great experience. Brett was a fantastic host, as he promptly responded to any questions we had. We especially enjoyed the seclusion of the cabin as well as the availability of the pontoon for fishing. Overall, I felt this was a good opportunity to disconnect from the routine stresses of life. We would absolutely stay again.
Nice, clean, fun up north experience.
, The property was in very good condition, very clean. The owner was very responsive to small problems or questions we had. The weather was nice and the boating was great. The lake was clean enough to swim in. I would like to go back again. It was the true northern cottage experience. The. amenities were great
Great location, close to many fun activities. Fishing was great
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Brett had everything you could need inside the cottage and was very quick to respond to any questions we had. The boat was a real plus and the fishing is hard to beat. We plan on returning.
Quaint, quiet and quite lovely cabin
We loved our stay at the Frog's Liar. Weather didn't cooperate the full time but when the weather did, it was wonderful. Fishing was great. Bring bug spray but there is a lovely screened in porch that helps. Close to Eagle River. This is a gem!!
Cabin is located just south of Eagle River Wisconsin on Columbus Lake. Columbus Lake is a 600+ acre lake with no public access. It is a very quiet lake with typically only a few boats on the lake.
