1/1 Cottage in the Dunes! PRIVATE POOL! Dog Friendly! Walk to Beach!

Once upon a time on a natural sand dune in Port Aransas sprung up the most unusual property in this Beach Community, The Dome and Cottage in the Dunes. This quaint, quiet and supremely comfortable beachy cottage shares the pristine pool with the property owner at the Dome house. The owner doesn't use the pool when there are guests at the Cottage so it's yours alone. The Cottage in the Dunes has its own deck overlooking the pool and is elevated from the street by about 20 steps. The landscaping which is both tropical and inviting and will welcome you to this getaway for your weekend, honeymoon, or small family vacation. Be sure and inquire if your group needs to add additional sleeping at our nearby properties.

VRBO does not currently collect city hotel tax for us. We will ask for that and any pet fees prior to check in. We will then make sure you have directions and easy check in procedure.

Perfect Anniversary Trip

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend stay at the cottage in the dunes! It was the perfect place for the two of us plus our dog. We loved having a private pool to cool off in after a day at the beach, and loved how close the property is to the beach access point. It was the perfect location to get to everything in town as well! We would definitely come back.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cottage in the Dunes. Anne was very responsive and followed through on everything we were to expect. The furnishings were comfy and very homelike. Lots of cooking equipment as well. Steep climb to get to house was a little rough for us old folks but well lit. Too cold for pool but was lovely sitting outside, quiet neighborhood.

We love this place

This is our go to property for a relaxing get away in Port Aransas. This place is perfect for two or three people that like to split their time between the beach and private time next to the pool. It's clean and has everything you need to cook and watch movies after a full day hanging at the beach and swimming away the afternoon.

We had such a wonderful stay in Port A! The home was even better than expected. The private pool was perfect for relaxing after the beach, and we loved that it was dog-friendly so our pup could come along too. I was raised in Port Aransas and recently returned to the shore from the hill country. I have also taken over my mother's (BeeGee) Vacation Rental Property Management. I love what I do and I love living in Port Aransas. I enjoy meeting travelers and hope that they continue to return to stay with us year after year. My life's motto is "Carpe Diem !"

Why they chose this property

BeeGee had lived in Port Aransas for 35 years, and was acquainted with the Dome and Cottage property and even visited the construction site when it was being built. In 2007, she purchased the property next door and started her quest to acquire the Dome and Cottage. With luck and hard work, she made that dream a reality this past year after having managed it for the former owner for 4 years. I could not be happier to take over the ownership and management of this lovely property. Anne
