Best spot on the River. The Lodge is perfect for large family gatherings. It has floor to ceiling windows with an outdoor/indoor feeling. The Mountain views as just as stunning as the River view in your backyard. The private river access allows for some of the best fishing in the area. The Lodge is located in what is called a 'blue ribbon' stretch of the Yellowstone.
This is the third River's Edge Property (check out our listings for the River's Edge Bungalow and the River's Edge River House - all on VRBO). The River House, Bungalow and Lodge (this property listing) all border the Chicory Fishing Access on the Yellowstone River. The 'Lodge' is the premier property. Granite counter tops, stainless appliances, upscale furniture, Internet, two laundry facilities, and a place for the kids to run and play.
This was our vacation home for 6 years and now that we decided to build a vacation rental business, we have completely remodeled it and put the 'Lodge' into service.
It has central heat and air, but you will probably find the open windows and propane fired wood stove will keep you comfortable.
A full deck wraps the North and South views of the Yellowstone River. Views from the kitchen, dining, and living room of the river.
A tour of the house...the main floor invites you to sit back, relax and enjoy the river. There is a large dining area, living room and 2 bedroom/2 bath (one is a master suite with bathroom) on this level. With the exception of the bathrooms, circular sawn hardware floors through out. The sliding glass doors open to a wrap around deck with North, South and West views of the river.
Heading upstairs to the loft you will be greeted with even more expansive views of the river. The loft is a cozy open space that leads to a remodeled bedroom through glass french doors...natural light is abundant. Its just a 'feel good' space that is designed for a restful nights sleep. There is a full bath in the loft and a high end king size bed.
Now head downstairs from the main level to the 'dorm'. This space is setup with one queen (Murphy bed) and four twins. It is quiet down here in the walk out basement, and as you may have guessed...views of the river are amazing. There is a 3/4 batch with a custom river rock shower. Another laundry facility and second frig is present on this level. There is also a tv with a dvd player in this "dorm" area making it a great retreat for the kids. As a special addition there is a memory wall where guests can leave a comment or write about their special Yellowstone sightings.
We remodeled this home to be our home, so you will find an attention to detail that is uncompromising. It is functional, fun, and welcoming. It is a gathering place for families and friends. Come see Montana the way we did...you may never leave.
The Lodge boasts 2 laundry areas, two large family size refrigerators an outdoor fire pit. You will love the space!
I stayed there in late October with a group of women who have been hiking together for 25 years. The weather wasn't cooperating so we spent more time indoors than out. We couldn't have been more comfortable. We loved the view, the spacious living and dining areas, and the fully equipped kitchen. We are already planning to return next year. Many, many superlatives for this house!!! Thanks for making our stay so wonderful.
This was a wonderful trip.our host was available when ever we had questions and she gave us lots of information regarding local activities. The home is beautiful and we felt right at home.
We would highly recommend this home to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the beauty of Montana.
I couldn't have chosen a more perfect place for my vacation, it was perfect in every single way. The lodge had everything we needed and more, the owners still provided sweet treats making it extra special. The fishermen in the group enjoyed fishing from the banks of the lodge and the private trail, while us ladies enjoyed a spa day at Chico. This is truly the best location with awesome views, we will definitely be back!
House was very clean and we all enjoyed the freshly made brownies! Great location on the river and the fire pit was awesome. Property was well maintained and super views right outside or inside the home. We spent so much time in Yellowstone we didn't get to spend very much time at the house but it was a pleasure to come home to at the end of the day.
There were a couple of issues with the house but nothing we couldn't live with. The jets did't work in one of the tubs and there was a bad smell coming from the down stairs area that was being aired out with fans when we arrived. If we were using the downstairs there would have been a problem .
My family had a very good time. the house is very well kept and the kitchen was full of things to cook. There are no restaurants within a short distance but the area is extremely quiet and accessible from 89. Yellowstone is surely easy to get to and that entrance does not take long to go thru.
Unfortunately the jacuzzi in the master bedroom was not working and there is no television so we could not know what the weather was going to be or see the news. There are more than enough beds in the house but the closets are full of things and cleaning products. No dresser in the master which made it hard to live out of suitcase for 1 week. We visited many places around the area including Bozeman which has a lovely downtown. Plenty of shopping and went to several falls. Toured Yellowstone 3 times. (different roads each time). Going to Chico Hot Springs is real nice especially if you want to use the pools there.
All together it was a wonderful vacation and we loved Montana a truly beautiful state. DeeDee and Dave were very nice and helped us with several questions. the house was very clean and well decorated.
This is a lovely house and setting, especially suited for the six of us from three generations. DeeDee has a well stocked kitchen for her guests. The wind can be powerful, especially for those in the large downstairs room who were sometimes disturbed by the wind chimes and chairs banging on the deck.
The ride to get into the main attractions in Yellowstone can take around two hours or more. We went four times, and it was well worth it. It was always a pleasure to return to the lovely house on the Yellowstone River.
