The apartment is spacious in a modern style with amazing sea view. It is on the first floor and only 100 m distance from the beach. It has its own balcony and includes a double bed, two single beds, a sofa bed, a private bathroom bath / toilet), kitchen with electric cooker, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, fringe and air conditioning. Suitable for couples or families with children. Access to free wireless internet.

Bed sheets and towels are provided. COCO-MAT mattress. The cleaning is every 4 days. There is free parking available.

The apartment is located very close to the beach, only 100 m distance. The beach of Kokkinos Pirgos is a very long sandy beach.The closest ATM, Bank and Post office are located at Tympani ( 2 km distance). There are a lot of cafes, bars, restaurants and supermarkets in the nearby area.

Available welcome snacks and drinks for the guests.

The apartment has an amazing sea view of the Paximadia Islands. You have the chance to enjoy one day cruise at the Paximadia Islands. The cruise starts at 10:30 a.m. from the harbour of Kokkinos Pirgos to the Paximadia Islands 3 times per week. It includes diving and BBQ at the beach.

There are also a lot of other nice beaches very close to the area, such as Kalamaki, Matala and Komos.

The beach of Agiofarago is locate 18 km distance from Kokkinos Pirgos. The beach is at the exit of the gorge with numerous fine pebbles and clear blue waters, which you can swim.

The visitors have also the chance to visit the Archaeological site of Phaestus (or Phestos) which is famous for its Minoan palace. The palace of Phaestus was built on a low hill in the plain of Messara, with panoramic views to the surrounding area. It is only 15 km distance from Kokkinos Pirgos.

Bei unserer Ankunft hat uns Maria für den Anfang mit allerhand Leckereien verwöhnt !immer wieder gab's Brot und Honig Süße Weintrauben !die Wohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet was mann so braucht um sich selbst verpflegen zu können aber die nächste Taverne ist nur 20m entfernt !alle Räume sind mit Individuell einstellbaren Klimaanlagen ausgestattet !der Ausblick vom Balkon ist fantastisch und die Sonnenuntergänge sind "Golden Sun" !praktisch ist das direkt gegenüber ein kleiner Supermarkt ist wo mann Brot, Gemüse und Getränke kaufen kann !ca. 5km entfernt in Timbaki ist ein Griechischer Supermarkt der wirklich gut sortiert ist da bekommt mann alles was mann als Selbst Versorger braucht !vielen Dank nochmal an Maria die Eigentümerin der Wohnung die uns alle 2 - 3 Tage mit allerlei Leckereien verwöhnt hat die an der Wohnungstür hingen !Wir können diese Unterkunft weiterempfehlen und würden selber gerne wieder kommen !

Un bon séjour à Kokinnos

Nous avons été bien accueillis par Maria. Le logement est un peu ancien, avec des équipements nécessaires. Petit bémol avec le système équilibre, tout est coupé lorsque nous sortons de l’appartement. C’est problématique lorsque l’on veut lancer des machines pendant notre absence, et la Climatisation qui s’arrête aussi.

Kreta 06-07.2024

The apartment was very pretty and quiet, everything was there, shampoo, dishwashing tablets, cleaning products. The garbage was also sorted on request and we also got new toilet paper. Air conditioning was great. The bar under the apartment didn't bother us. The hosts Maria and Giannes are wonderful. As a welcome, Maria gave us a complete menu with homemade treats. Tzatziki, cake, beer, tomato bruschetta and much more. We were very touched by this hospitality. On the last day there was a farewell gift with biscuits and oil on our door. Incredibly lovely. I had forgotten my wallet in the apartment on the day of departure. Giannes immediately called the cleaning lady, who was there 30 minutes later. So we were able to get to the airport on time. The whole area on the street side is terrible, dirty, half-finished houses etc. The supermarket opposite is very convenient though. The beach side with loungers, cafes etc. is quite nice. Unfortunately the wind was often so strong during our week that we couldn't swim. What a shame. The balcony has a lovely view, but it was too small for us and there was no lounger. We could only use it in the mornings and evenings because of the heat and in the evenings it was often too windy. The time on Crete, especially Matala and Agia Galini, was very nice. Because of the surroundings and the strong wind we wouldn't visit this place again.

Lovely Apartment by the Beach

A great Appartement directly by the beach. We had a very warm welcome from the Host who even prepared some Greek food for us and brought a chair and toys for our child. The place is very well equipped (esp. kitchen), tidy and has everything you need for a nice vacation. We would recommend this place any time any time. Thank you very much Maria!!

A lovely place!

Das Appartement liegt in einer sehr schönen Bucht! Die Vermieter sind sehr gastfreundlich. Wir wurden mit Essen und Getränken empfangen! Die Kommunikation war problemlos und sehr freundlich. Der Blick aus dem Appartement ist wunderschön! Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Gerne wieder!

Tolle Wohnung mit einer tollen Gastgeberin

Diese Wohnung hält was sie verspricht. Alles war genauso wie beschrieben. Auch der Name "Golden Sun" passt, da man beim Sonnenuntergang vom Balkon tatsächlich auf eine "golden sun" schaut. Der Blick aus dem Balkon auf das Meer ist atemberaubend schön. Man schäft mit Meeresrauschen ein und wacht mit dem Meeresrauschen wieder auf. Maria ist als Gastgeberin wundervoll, sie hat uns mehrmals mit den schönsten Leckereinen versorgt und war mit Rat und Tat für uns da. Die Lage ich super, wenn man etwas raus aus dem Trubel des Nordens möchte. Die Strände sind schön und werden eher von Einheimischen besucht. Von hier aus können viele interessante Ziele in deutlich unter einer Stunde Fahrzeit errreicht werden, Wanderungen, ärchologische Stätten und Museen, aber auch andere schöne Strände. Wenn es uns irgendwie möglich sein wird, werden wir wiederkommen.

Ein wunderschöner Urlaub in griechischer Atmosphäre

Ein großzügiges, schönes eingerichtetes Appartement, vom Balkon hat man einen herrlichen Blick aufs Meer und kann den Sonnenuntergang genießen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Gegenüber der Straße ist ein Supermarkt, zum Strand sind es ca 50m. Es ist ein langer, schöner Kies/Sandstrand, man kommt gut ins Wasser zum Schwimmen. An der Straße und im Ort etliche Restaurants, am Strand sind Schirme und Liegen, gegen ein (günstiges) Getränk kostenfrei. Hier machen Griechen selber Urlaub, die Preise sind moderat, es geht entspannt zu. Maria und ihr Sohn kümmern sich liebevoll um ihre Gäste. An diese Stelle möchten wir uns nochmal ganz herzlich dafür bedanken!

Tolle Ferienwohnung

Unser Aufenthalt in Marias Ferienwohnung war einfach fantastisch! Die Wohnung ist wunderbar eingerichtet und bietet alles, was man braucht. Maria und ihr Sohn sorgten für einen ausgezeichneten Service und waren immer hilfsbereit. Der Höhepunkt war definitiv der Balkon mit dem atemberaubenden Sonnenuntergang. Die Lage ist perfekt, schön ruhig und doch in der Nähe von allem, was man benötigt. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt wirklich genossen und können diese Ferienwohnung uneingeschränkt empfehlen!

Sehr schöne Unterkunft.

Die Wohnung hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Es war alles das was man braucht. Die Vermieterin hat uns mit einem typisch griechischem Essen sehr nett empfangen. Unter der Woche hing nochmal ein kleiner Beutel mit Gebäck an der Tür. Sehr sehr lieb. Die Aussicht ist super und die Restaurants in der Umgebung sind alle sehr gut. Gleich hinter der Wohnung gibt es einen kleinen Supermarkt, einen großen Supermarkt in der nächsten Stadt nur ein paar Kilometer entfernt. Der Strand ist nicht so überlaufen und Liegen und Schirme haben wir zu jeder Tageszeit bekommen. Sie gehören zu den Restaurants. Man bestellt nur ein Getränk und kann die Liegen kostenlos nutzen. Ausflüge nach Matala und Aglia Galini unbedingt zu empfehlen.

Un emplacement très pratique

Un hébergement de qualité à proximité de la plage, d’un commerce alimentaire et à proximité de Rethymnon ! C’est une très bonne formule pour passer un bon séjour dans ce coin de Crète ! Si l’accès en voiture est un peu sportif c’est sans doute le seul petit bémol à ce logement très agréable ! N’hésitez pas c’est très bien !

Golden Sun kann man durchaus wörtlich nehmen...

Das Appartment ist hell, sauber und freundlich eingerichtet. Wir wurden von der wunderbaren Maria herzlichst empfangen und mit einem unerwarteten, köstlichen Mittagsimbiss überrascht. Ευχαριστώ πολύ, Μαρία. Der Balkon eröffnet einen tollen Blick auf den kleinen Hafen und die dahinter liegenden Berge. Hier kann man den Sonnenuntergang genießen. Wir haben jede Gelegenheit genutzt, dass griechische Essen zu probieren und im Appartment, trotz toller Ausstattung, nicht selber gekocht. Die Promenade entlang des langen, sanft ins Wasser verlaufenden Sandstrands mit Restaurants, Bars und Cafes ist nur wenige Schritte entfernt. Die aufgestellten Liegen und Sonnenschirme konnten kostenlos verwendet werden, sofern man etwas bestellte. Das fanden wir persönlich besser, als eine Tagespauschale. Nachmittags wurde es am Strand häufig windig. Besonders am Wochenende ist der Ort bei Einheimischen jeden Alters beliebt. Hier wird gelebt. Unseren Mietwagen konnten wir problemlos an der parallel verlaufenden Straße parken. Ein kleiner Lebensmittelladen ist in unmittelbarer Nähe. Insgesamt also eine tolle Unterkunft und ein netter Ort für einen erholsamen Urlaub.

Schönes Appartment mit tollen Vermieter

Wonderful

The apartment is spacious, comfortable and has everything one needs. Really good air conditioning throughout. The sunsets from the balcony are really beautiful. Maria laid on a veritable feast for our arrival. Most places will provide perhaps a loaf of bread and a bottle of wine, but Maria's hospitality was amazing. She's a lovely lady and made my wife and I feel very welcome. You're on the beach in two minutes and there are bars and restaurants to choose from. Highly recommended.

Absolut einmalig !!!

Maria und John sind einzigartige Gastgeber. Wir wurden mit einem feinen griechischen Znacht bei unserer Ankunft bewirtet. Der Kontakt vor und während unseren Ferien war sehr nett, immer erreichbar und sehr engagiert. Vielen Dank Maria !! Die Wohnung ist sehr sauber und die Aussicht einzigartig !! Die Trattorias und der Shop sind in Gehdistanz erreichbar und sehr abwechslungsreich. Sehr empfehlens wert !!!

Erholsamer Familien-Strandurlaub

Das Appartement hat all unsere Erwartungen erfüllt. Es war sauber, geräumig und gut klimatisiert. Die Vermieterin war sehr warmherzig, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Wir wurden sogar mit einem zubereiteten Abendessen empfangen. Das Appartement liegt super zentral zwischen dem Supermarkt und dem Strand, direkt an der Promenade. Es empfiehlt sich ein Mietwagen zu haben, da es leider nicht mit der Buslinie erreichbar ist.

Herrliches Feriendomizil

Maria und ihr Sohn Giannis sind wunderbare Gastgeber, die uns in ihrer super ausgestatteten, hellen und sehr gemütlichen Wohnung sogar mit einem vollen Mittagessen erwartet haben. Es war alles in und um die Wohnung da, was wir uns gewünscht haben, inkl. Tips für vegetar. Restaurants, Strände und Ausflüge. Der Strand ist direkt vor der Tür und hauptsächlich von Einheimischen besucht. Die Liegen gibt's gratis, wenn man beim freundlichen Strandservice etwas bestellt. Entsprechend sind auch die Preise in den Tavernen mehr als erschwinglich. Rundum ein super Aufenthalt - vielen herzlichen Dank an Maria & Giannis!!!!!! Teilweise war nur der Wind recht heftig, das kann natürlich jede Woche anders sein ;-)

Gut gelegene Ferienwohnung mit sehr gastfreundlicher Vermieterin, uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen!

Wir haben Marias Wohnung für einen Familienurlaub (Meer/Wandern/Kultur) in Kreta gebucht und können sie nur weiterempfehlen. Schon die Begrüssung war sehr herzlich und persönlich und wir hatten danach - neben dem obligatorischen Raki - einen kleinen Vorrat an örtlichen Delikatessen im Kühlschrank. (Das wiederholte sich bei der wöchentlichen Reinigung und beim Abschied.) Super, so macht Urlaub Spaß! Die Wohnung selber ist ortstypisch eher schlicht und pragmatisch, aber sauber und mit allem Notwendigen (von Kaffeemaschinen bis Klimaanlagen) ausgestattet. Sie liegt quasi direkt an der "Strandpromenade" des kleinen Orts Kokkinos Pyrgos, so dass man schon vom Balkon aus einen optimalen Ausblick auf Strand, Meer und Berge hat. Natürlich bekommt man bei der Lage schon etwas vom "Strandleben" mit, aber da die Schlafzimmer nach hinten sind, und alles eher gesittet abläuft (keine großen Partys etc.), fanden wir das nicht störend. Der Strand wird übrigens nach unserer Wahrnehmung v.a.von Einheimischen besucht (was wir als Vorteil ansehen). In den kleinen Bars und Restaurants im direkten Umfeld kann man sich für wenig Geld gut verpflegen, ein kleiner Supermarkt ist ums Eck. Ein Mietwagen ist aber ansonsten unbedingt Pflicht, da man so von der Wohung aus eigentlich alle Highlights Zentral-Kretas gut erreichen kann. Gibt ein dickes "Daumen hoch" von uns!

Traumhafter Urlaub im Süden von Kreta - alles perfekt

Die Ferienwohnung liegt in Kokkinos Pyrgos, einem kleinen Dorf im Süden von Kreta, ruhig am Beginn der kleinen Promenade mit zahlreichen Tavernen. Parkplätze sind zahlreich in der näheren Umgebung vorhanden, der Supermarkt ist nur ein paar Meter von der Wohnung entfernt. Der Sandstrand ist traumhaft, flach, das Wasser glasklar und sauber. Die Liegen am Strand kann man gegen Erwerb eines Getränks bei der jeweiligen Lokalität kostenlos nutzen. Die Vermieterin ist eine super Gastgeberin - hat uns herzlich begrüßt und mit zahlreichen Leckereien wie verschiedenes Obst, Käse , Wurst, Brot, Gebäck usw. beschenkt. Uns wurde ein früherer Check-In ermöglicht und auch sonst standen sie und ihr Sohn uns bei Problemen stets hilfreich zur Seite. Die Wohnung, die nach 4 Tagen erneut gereinigt wurde, war absolut sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was man sich wünscht. Wir können die Wohnung nur empfehlen und freuen uns darauf, zurück zu kehren.

Klasse Apartment im ruhigen Ort - Wundervolle Aussicht

Ausstattung und Lage sind top. Die Gastgeberin Maria & ihr Sohn Giannis erfüllen einem jeden Wunsch. Wir wurden mit einem traditionellen selbstgemachten Abendessen und zahlreichen Snacks & Getränken im Kühlschrank begrüßt! Der Ort ist etwas ruhiger mit einem schönem flachen Strand. Die Restaurants in der Umgebung sind sehr preiswert und gut. Auch bei der Rekordhitze 2021 war es im Apartment dank den Klimaanlagen sehr angenehm. Das Apartment hatte sonst alles was man sich wünscht: Voll ausgestattete Küche, großes Badezimmer mit Waschmaschine, W-Lan, Fernseher und natürlich ein Balkon direkt vom Strand mit einer super Aussicht! Ausreichend Parkplätze und einen Supermarkt gibt es ebenfalls direkt am Apartment.

Recensione We totally loved our stay at Golden Sun. The apartment is spacious, newly restored, amazingly equipped & super clean with air-conditioning & wi-fi to make the stay even more comfortable . Brand new kitchenware with all you need to cook, very clean and organized. Lovely terrace overlooking the beach (just 2 minutes walk!) perfect to have breakfast and dinner with the family. The surrounding area counts several good beaches such as Matala & Komos which are only 20 minutes drives. South of Crete is wilder & less touristy then the northern part, definitely less commercialised but it feels more authentic & that’s what we loved about it. it’s great to seat in restaurants surrounded only by greek people & to have a chat with them. But the greatest part of out stay were our hosts: Giannis & his mom Made us feel like family, at our arrival we Found water & wine in fridge, a freshly-made salad, fresh fruit & toasted bread waiting for us. The apartment also got all we needed to cook & clean: we appreciated this a lot ‘cause happens very rarely. They were kind enough to give us also a farewell tray of typical greek pastries. Lovely, lovely people! Do yourself a favour and book a stay with them, you won’t be disappointed!

We had a great time

The appartment is highly recommended. It is beautifully furnished with great taste. Everything is quite new and of high quality. The appartment is even better than on the fotos. The balcony is just wonderful and has a great view on the sea and the beach of Kokkinos Pirgos. The town itself has a nice beach and touristic infrastructure (street bars), but it is less touristic in a positive sense than Agia Galini or Matala which are nearby. Lots of locals and Greek travellers at the beach. The town has kept an own, nice atmosphere. The People were always friendly and helpful. There are some beautiful and very good restaurants to be reached by foot. The owner Maria and their sons are very committed and very friendly. On the day of the arrival we were welcomed by them with a selection of really tasty and fresh Greek food, wine and Raki. Kokkinos Pirgos is also a great place as a starting point to visit the whole area by car. Very useful is the supermarket just accross the street.

Das Apartment ist perfekt. Die Ausstattung sehr gut, die Lage perfekt. Der Weg zum Strand 50m. Maria hat uns sehr nett empfangen und uns perfekt betreut.

Very nice holiday

The apartment was very nice, clean and comfortable. The landlady Maria was very welcoming and endeavored for our well-being. The nearby beach was very fine. The water was calm and shallow and suitable for children.

The apartment is located only 60 km from the Heraklion airport.

The most famous and amazing beaches are very close to the apartment. Such as Matala, Kommos, Red beach, Kalamaki and Agiofarago which we highly recommend to visit and see the wild beauty of nature. In addition, Museums, Monasteries gorges and other attractions are close to the apartment.

During the day you will find a lot of restaurants, cafes and shops on the main road.
