THINGS TO KNOW • Parking for up to 3 vehicles • We highly recommend 4-wheel drive during winter weather. Mountain roads are paved and well maintained but are steep and winding, which is common in the Smokies. • Firewood is not provided for the fireplaces. • Like most cabins in the Smoky Mountains, occasional ladybugs, stink bugs, and other mountain critters may appear despite regular pest control treatments due to the natural mountain environment. • Leland’s Lookout is an authentic Smoky Mountain cabin sitting high in the mountain elements, where intense sun, wind, rain, and changing seasons naturally create some weathering over time. Guests should expect a true mountain cabin experience full of warmth, character, and incredible scenery rather than a brand-new luxury property.

One of the best views. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star was due to an AC issue. It was hotter than heck in there the first day. We were all sweating and couldn't be indoors for long. It was cooler outside (this was during June). Overall a beautiful cabin.
This property is beautiful! Clean, spacious, great location. Check-in was a tad difficult as our code to door hadn't been set automatically at check in time. We arrived about 3 hours later than check in time. Used code but it wasn't unlocking the door. Contacted host, and i think it was around 20 minute wait for her to get it corrected. So not bad, only downside to that is it is spotty/slow 4g/5g(I mean it is on a mountain). Only thing I would suggest is for the hosts to provide a landline for contact, just in case data for cell service is unreliable. That was a minor issue. Once we were in, we were comfortable. The cabin is spacious. Wish we had more time though. We'll definitely be returning. The upstairs bed is so comfy! Be aware, this is on a mountain. It is a trek. Narrow paved roads, So drive with caution. It's about a 15 min drive to closest store/restaurant. But the view 10/10 will recommend over and over

Liked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
The cabin was very clean and well decorated, our bed was comfortable, views were pretty. Communication was lacking. Upon check-in we discovered one of the main living space wall A/C units was unplugged and not operational. The cabin was hot ( south facing wall is all windows) After reaching out we were told they were checking with team to get the unit fixed, I was told that 3 times, no further communication that night. The next morning I had to reach out to be told it was too late to get the unit fixed last night and “we’re” working on it. Later that day I was told it wouldn’t be fixed (during my 2 night stay) but that they were working on getting a stand-alone A/C unit delivered. We arrived back at the cabin @4:30pm nothing had been delivered. At this point it had been a somewhat cloudy day and no longer needed the unit. Had they just worked on getting a temporary unit the nIght before maybe it would have been a better outcome. This is a mountainside cabin, with sheer drops, besides the deck there is no outside area.

Thank you for your feedback and for your kind comments about the cleanliness, décor, comfortable beds, and mountain views. We're sorry that one of the cabin's multiple A/C units unexpectedly stopped working just before your arrival.
The issue was isolated to the dining area A/C unit. The cabin has separate A/C units serving the living room and each bedroom. Because the issue was reported around 8:00 p.m., there were unfortunately no HVAC companies or suppliers open that evening to provide an immediate repair or replacement. We contacted our HVAC technician first thing the following morning and learned the unit required a special-order replacement. We also explored temporary portable A/C options, but none available were large enough to effectively cool the dining area.
When we checked back in with you the following morning, you let us know that the dining area was cooler and doing fine, and that the bedrooms had remained cool throughout your stay. We remained in communication throughout your visit, continued looking for the quickest available solution, and did everything we reasonably could under the circumstances. While we're sorry the dining area A/C unit could not be repaired during your two-night stay, we appreciate your feedback and are glad you enjoyed the cleanliness, décor, comfortable bed, and beautiful views.
We had a great stay at this cabin and would definitely come back. The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. It had a nice balance of feeling private and peaceful while still being convenient to nearby attractions. The cabin itself was well-maintained and thoughtfully set up, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the overall layout made it easy to settle in right away. One of the highlights was the setting—quiet, scenic, and perfect for unwinding. Whether sitting outside in the morning or relaxing in the evening, it really had that true cabin feel. The host was responsive and easy to work with, which made the whole experience smooth from start to finish.Overall, a great place to stay if you're looking for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommend.
