Cleaning:

Your comfort is our top propriety. To ensure everything is ready when you arrive, our apartments receive a delivery of fresh linens, comforters and towels for your booking.

Ready to have a taste of the Parisian lifestyle? Come stay on rue Francois Miron, a street whose Parisian charm is indisputable! This gem of an apartment has just been completely renovated and is located on the 6th and top floor of the building (no elevator).

SERVICE FIRST!! We will help you with your bags when you arrive so please do not worry about the stairs! If you need help upon departure, we will do our best to arrange this for you as well. Please let us know your needs when you inquire.

Views of Paris's rooftops abound through the four windows in the apartment, providing plenty of light. You can even see the top of the Pompidou Centre and the Hotel de Ville! The immediate neighborhood is a playground for travelers, with everything you might want from culinary treats, shopping and the river Seine at your doorstep.

You'll enjoy free WiFi and international calling to many countries (including US, Australia, Western Europe & Israel), a laptop computer and iPad/iPhone/iPod docks to help keep you connected! The apartment is a one-bedroom of approximately 35 meters and can sleep up to 4 guests, with a double bed in the master bedroom and a high-quality sofabed in the living room. Please read on for further details about the apartment.

EXTRAS FOR EASY TRAVELING!! The apartment includes toiletries such as shampoo, body wash, toothpaste and our kitchen is stocked with coffee, tea, bottled water and other cooking supplies to help you get settled in right away!

LIVING ROOM: The living room area is the main living space in the apartment. We have tried to think of everything you might need on your vacation, including WiFi; a telephone with free international calling to many destinations: flat-screen TV with a few English news channels; a sofa which opens up into a high-quality sofabed suitable for up to two adults; a selection of guidebooks about Paris; and a stereo system with iPhone/iPod charger. A laptop computer and iPad/iPhone dock are located in the bedroom.

KITCHEN AREA: The kitchen area is in the main living area of the apartment. You have a refrigerator with a small freezer area, a microwave with grill function, a ventilation hood with light, a two-burner induction stovetop, coffee maker and hot water kettle. The kitchen pantry is stocked with basic cooking supplies like salt, pepper, oil & vinegar as well as coffee, tea and sugar. You will find cooking utensils, pots & pans, dishes and silverware in the cabinet opposite the kitchen area. You also have a clothes washer with a dryer functions so you can take care of all of your laundry needs without leaving the apartment! The iron and ironing board are also stored in the kitchen area.

DINING AREA: We call this little area 'The Bistro' - it's your own little private dining area overlooking the rooftops of Paris! The bistro has seating for four guests and windows all around! Enjoy a meal or a glass of wine while you watch the sun set over Paris, or enjoy a sunny morning with your croissants and coffee.

BEDROOM: The bedroom is separated from the main room of the apartment by two French doors. The bed is double bed, suitable for two adults, and the bedroom is on the courtyard side of the building and on the top floor, so it's generally very quiet. There a small closet with an area for hanging clothes and shelves next to the bed, and a writing desk by the window, complete with an Asus Netbook Laptop and an iPhone/iPad/iPod charging dock for guest use.

BATHROOM: The apartment has a full bathroom which includes a toilet, sink/vanity area and a shower stall. The bathroom is located off the main living area and accessible to all guests, even with the sofabed open. We have provided a hair dryer and flat iron for guest use, as well as soap and shampoo.

APARTMENT ACCESS: The apartment is situated on the top floor (6th floor) on the courtyard side of the building, and the apartment building has two coded security doors. The apartment building has no elevator, but we can arrange for help with your luggage upon your arrival. Many buildings in the Marais neighborhood do not have elevators because the buildings are ancient and the staircase areas are too narrow for the addition of an elevator. We like to think of taking the stairs as a way to work off all those irresistible Parisian pastries!

NEIGHBORHOOD: Everything is at your footsteps, with multiple restaurants on the same block as the apartment! A beautiful boulangerie is just on the corner with sweet delights and great sandwiches for lunch, too! A Monoprix supermarket and Metro station St. Paul is just around the corner. The Marais neighborhood offers tons of trendy boutiques, the Picasso Museum, the Carnavalet (History of Paris) Museum, as well as many important sites for the Jewish community, including the Shoa Memorial (Holocaust Memorial Museum) and History of Judaism Museum.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope to welcome you to Paris and to rue Francois Miron!

Manager Ruben Elmaleh is awaiting your email inquiry, so please contact us anytime with questions. We look forward to welcoming you soon and helping you feel at home here in Paris!

About Owner/Manager

My name is Ruben, and I'm the owner and manager of this apartment. I have lived in Paris for almost 20 years and still think it is the most beautiful city in the world! I have worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry for more than a decade and love making people happy. I started my own vacation rental management company a few years ago and my favorite part is greeting guests from all over the world!

Owner/Manager purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Owner/Manager chose Paris

I love the Marais - it's my favorite neighborhood in Paris! The street the apartment is on has everything you need, from a super boulangerie/patisserie to restaurants in every directions, plus a supermarket, pharmacy and all the other essentials. When I first saw this apartment, I just knew it was the one for me. Even before it was renovated, the charm of the old tommette (red tile) floors and wood beams and beautiful rooftop views of Paris really sold me on the apartment. I'm so glad I was able to purchase it and renovate it, and now share it with travelers!

What makes this apartment unique

I manage many apartments in Paris, but I really think the street this apartment is on is just the most charming, centrally-located street in Paris! It's rare to find everything you need in less than a 2-minute walk, but it's really true with this apartment. I just know guests will fall in love with the apartment and neighborhood - just like I did!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Dear Ruben,

The apartment was such a charming addition to our Paris visit. We, my wife and two kids, loved coming back after a long day in the city and recharge for the next day. You've done a splendid job in turning it into a welcoming home away from home. Working with you has been a great pleasure and I would love to recommend your services to anyone visiting Paris. On top of that, this apartment is located in such a great spot - nice street and one of the most charming neighborhoods in Paris.

Thank you and Shalom!

Centerally located apartment was perfect for our visit

  • 5 of 5

Had a great stay here in Marais. Ruben and Sofia were super responsive. The apartment was as described. It has a nice view out over the rooftops of apartments in Paris. The metro was super close by and plenty of cafes, restaurants, and stores for groceries within walking distance. The walk up the 6 flights was great also. Definitely winded at the top but it was good exercise. The apartment was quiet and the neighbors were pleasant to us when we saw them. Oh and also able to walk to the Seine and Notre Dame within in minutes!!

Pleasant Stay in Paris

  • 5 of 5

Overall we had a pleasant stay and would consider returning upon another visit to the area.

The location is excellent. It's a pleasant neighborhood with local shops, cafes, etc. within walking distance of sites as well as a grocery. The closest metro station is a short (max. 5 minutes) walk.

The building is quiet and neighbors courteous. The flat itself was clean and comfortable. The ceiling in the bedroom is a bit low and the common area's floor is slanted. The bathroom is oddly situated, basically in the living room. None of these were a real issue for us, but just a heads up for future guests. It is on the 6th floor, so if you're against walking, book somewhere else. Some people in my group had issues with the water temperature in the shower, moving from scalding to freezing. I'd recommend small adjustments and waiting a few moments, as the change seemed delayed. The shower is also quite small. I'm 6', so bending to shave my legs was a feat. If you're...rounder, you may have issues fitting. But then maybe you stopped viewing this rental once you saw 6 floors... Our largest real complaint was regarding the front door. There are two points of entry, the main door and through the bedroom. A prior guest apparently got the key stuck in the main door, so we had to exit and enter through the bedroom. The stairs to this entryway are a bit more perilous, especially with baggage. It was more of an annoyance than anything. Hopefully they've gotten this fixed and it's a non-issue going forward.

The refrigerator, stove, washer/dryer, basic pots/pans, and coffee machine were all functional and in good condition. A starter supply of coffee was provided, as was detergent for the washer; both of which were appreciated. We were even left a welcome bottle of wine and sparkling water. Both the bed and sofa bed were comfortable. Linens were clean and plenty of towels available. The phone and TV worked. There were only a couple of English speaking channels (BBC, CNN, etc.), but as we were there to tour, not watch TV, it was sufficient.

Upon arrival we were met by Florence. She provided the key and gave us a tutorial on the apartment. We likely would have figured out everything, such as how to use a key and a remote, but it was nice for her to bother. We had no issues during our stay (or when booking), so we had no further contact with the rental management. Our security deposit was refunded in a timely manner. Highly recommended.

Thank you Reuben and Florence....

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 days in Paris as a family of 4 and stayed in the lovely Heart of Maris flat from Reuben. The flat is exactly as the photo's show, it is full of charm and character. When you first enter it seems old but it is just the way of these older buildings. T The rooms are small but the flat is roomy because the rooms are divided up so that as a family of 4 we had no issues at all with space or comfort. The sofa bed was very comfortable as it accommodated my 2 teenage girls .The small dining area is very cozy and we were able to make it work so that we could eat all of our meals in the area overlooking the rooftops of Paris. The view is a lovely view that gives you that Paris view !! We got to see the sunset on a few nights and it was so pretty. The top of Notre dame Cathedral can be seen in the view. The kitchen area is small but very functional. The stovetop works well once you figure out how to use it as do the washer and dryer in the apartment as we used all of them. The bathroom is a good size and had lots of storage space. The shower is a bit unpredictable for temperature but for us it was all part of the experience of being in an apartment. This apartment is very good value for the location as you are in the heart of the Marais district which is fantastic. There is a Patisserie right downstairs which we used every single day, a restaurant right at the bottom of the apartment which is convenient.. The convenience of this area is fantastic. A metro stop is only a 5 minute walk away and along the way is a great little market store for any groceries that you may need. We were welcomed by Florence on our day of arrival and she was fantastic ~ so sweet and welcoming ! We were also greeted by a bottle of wine, some cola, water and chocolates ~ thank you kindly !! Florence actually took us outside and showed us some of the main places to help us become familiar with the area so we knew where to go right away such as metro, groceries and such. She explained everything in the apartment that we would need to know ~ but after a long international flight i did forget some of the pieces and so a reminder in their book on using the stove and the washer/dryer would be helpful Communication with Reuben during booking and after was excellent, quick and efficient. He recommended Citizen limo service from the airport and I highly recommend it. Worth the cost! The stairs are definitely difficult to do each day but we managed !

Charming apartment but challenging communication with owner

  • 2 of 5

My mother and I stayed in Ruben's apartment for 5 nights in early March. The apartment is very charming and exactly as others have described it. The breakfast nook is lovely and has a great view of Paris rooftops. The bed is comfortable and the apartment is well-stocked with everything you need. The stairs are a bit of a challenge, but you can work off all of the sweets that you eat. One thing that we wished we had known ahead of time is that the light switches in the stairwell look like doorbells for the apartments they are next to. At first we were using our cellphone's to get light in the dark stairwells because we thought the switches were doorbells :)

When we arrived in the evening we were greeted by Sophie, who was in the apartment waiting for us. She was wonderful -- very kind and very helpful. The next day we went out and explored the city all day but when we returned to the apartment the key would not work. We tried for 45 minutes to make the key work, and could not. Ultimately we had a neighbor call Ruben's company to request someone come let us in. The person on the phone was incredibly rude. He kept saying it was my fault and I must have broke the lock. It made us feel very uncomfortable (not only are we locked out, but now this man is angry with me for "breaking" the lock, which I did not). After 2 hours someone arrived with a key to a second door. He confirmed that the lock on the initial door does not work. We used the spare door the rest of the time. A handyman came to fix the original lock, but said he would have to return at a different date to fully fix it. The spare door ended up working fine, but the stairs are even more narrow leading to that door (and there is a ladder hanging on the wall, which you must be cautious not to hit) so please use caution there.

My biggest complaint is how the lock issue was handled. When a customer contacts you saying they are locked out, I would expect any rental company to be very apologetic and hurry to fix it. Upon checking out I sent Ruben (the owner) a message with my concerns. His response was "Listen I won't have time to talk over the phone, tell me what do you expect and I get back to you :-) "

I told him that I expected at minimum, an apology, and possibly to be compensated, which he ultimately did both (one free night). He ended up being responsive, but not until after I told him to. While the unit is charming, I would not recommend staying here because of how we were treated.

Owner's Response: Hi Meghan, While we deeply regret that there was an issue with the key to the apartment, steps were taken immediately to remedy the situation: an additional key was dispatched as soon as possible to let the guests in the apartment, a handyman evaluated the situation, and an alternate entrance was made available for the duration of the stay. Problems with locks can sometimes arise in historic apartments, but every effort was made to ensure that the problems would be resolved with the least inconvenience possible to the guests. The guests were then compensated for the inconvenience incurred. We are sorry that you were disappointed with your stay. This apartment has a proven track record of providing a great Paris experience to guests, with its authentic charm and wonderful location, and we will do everything possible to ensure it continues to provide this great experience. Ruben

Wonderful Paris and Marais experience

  • 5 of 5

Our family (2 adults, 2 children) have stayed in the apartment for 9 days. The apartment is lovely, well equipped (excellent wi-fi, TV, laptop, coffee-maker & Expresso machine, books, dishes, all necessary equipment for cooking & and eating in), clean and although quite small we found it ideal for a tourist stay in Paris when you do not stay inside for a long-time daily but enjoy coming back to a well-arranged, stylish, truly Parisian accommodation. We appreciated the soft drinks, chocolates and a bottle of wine that were left in the fridge for our arrival. The bathroom/shower is clean and modern with good water pressure. We did not experience particular problems with the hot/cold water mix: you need to adjust it to desired temperature before stepping into the shower. The location is perfect: it is behind Rue de Rivoli, within few minutes walk from a Metro station, you can walk to Hotel de Ville, Centre Pompidou, Notre-Dame, Les Halles mall, stroll around all attractions and boutiques of charming Marais. There is a great bakery on the same street with the apartment and two supermarkets nearby. We also went twice to the Bastille market, which is only one metro station away. Selection of nearby restaurants, cafes and bars is amazing and can satisfy all tastes. Ms. Florence who met us in the apartment was nice and friendly; she answered our call later in the week and explained the process of of restarting the TV receiver. The only concern could be that the apartment is located on the sixth floor with 120 steps to mount (the children counted them). It is a good aerobic exercise but can be tiring for some.
