Beautiful place. The cabin is better than pictured.
The cabin is cleaner and newer than even good pictures can show. It is located a mile or two down a dirt road. There are 2 neighboring houses near the property but we never saw much of those who live there, and there was zero traffic. We let the dogs off leash in the yard and on the trails. The Low Gap Cafe was recommended in a previous post and we tried it and loved it. Also, we took a short ride into Jasper, AR. It has great breakfast spots. There are hiking trails all over Ponca and the cabin is relaxing. We will do it again!
Quiet, Peaceful, Dog Friendly and Quaint!
Such an adorable little cabin. I love the way it is decorated and it has every basic necessity.
Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I could not get the fireplace to work and it got down to 18 degrees while we were there and we did not get a response from the owner when I messaged about it. I would say that was the only major downside. However, the views and the secluded area was super peaceful. It even ended up snowing which was just gorgeous to see!!! It's also only about a 20 minute hike from some pretty popular hiking such as Whitakers Point. I definitely would come back!
Pro-tip 1: It is hard to find and the address provided did not take you to the exact road on Google or Apple maps. Definitely make sure you review the written directions provided by the owner and also take screenshots of the code to get in.. I have AT&T and had no reception on the way to the cabin. Luckily we stopped at a visitors center and they let us use their WIFI in order to get into the VRBO app.
Pro-tip 2: Our pup had a hard time walking up the steep cabin stairs to get to the bedroom as well and she kept trying to walk up them which was a bit dangerous. I would suggest bringing a baby gate for any little ones or any animals.
Very beautiful setting
We truly enjoyed our two night stay in this cozy little cabin. Although small in size, it was well stocked with all comforts of home. The back porch offered stunning views of the changing leaves and the beautiful sunsets. This cabin is easily accessed from the main road and is centrally located to all of the outdoor adventures in this area. This part of Arkansas is very remote so please remember to pick up supplies before heading out to the Ponca area.
Beautiful property, great view! The cabin is quaintly decorated and very warm and comfortable.
We had fun and would love to visit again in the future.
This cabin is perfect for a couple looking to get away. Just a short drive to Ponca where we saw an elk herd. Be sure to drive to the low gap cafe for surprisingly delicious food from a gourmet chef!
Great cozy cabin. We were in town for a quick mini-vacation. Did some floating, hiking and horseback riding and this place was perfect. Centrally located, we made breakfast each morning and then sat on the screened in patio during the evenings.
