Awesome time

This is the second year in a row we have stayed at the house for our anniversary. It is a quiet neighborhood, and the close proximity to the lake make it an beautiful place to stay. Kathy is a great person to work with and makes your stay as enjoyable as possible. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent Get Away for our Anniversary

My wife and I were looking for a quiet get away for our first anniversary, and that is exactly what we found. We loved everything about this place. Sitting on the patio every night with a bonfire watching the sunset was great. Your in a quiet neighborhood, but still close enough to Port Clinton that you can sight see or hop on jet express. Kathy, the owner, was very helpful with all our questions. I would recommend this place to any couple or group that wants a quiet and relaxing vacation

Great Lake Erie Cottage!

My mom and her friend stayed at this home while the rest of the family stayed just up the street. It was perfect for them. They really enjoyed it 😊. They had no complaints. A handrail going in would have helped them , but they managed. Thanks!

Oak Harbor Lakefront Place

It was close to a birding event that we were participating. The view of the water from the house was fabulous. It is very close to the water. All furnishing were comfortable and tasteful. We could have used better lighting for reading in bed at night. The description in the listing says something on the order of available on-street parking but there is actually a driveway that you can pull into.

We loved being so close to the lake

The house was clean and cute. It was decorated in a nautical/mermaid theme. The wall of windows faces no the lake was really beautiful. We slept with the bedroom window open to hear the waves. Super relaxing. Note, the location does require you to drive to local attractions, but we knew that in advance, so it was not an issue. Magee Marsh is a short drive away, and a beautiful place to bird watch and explore.

Fabulous view of the lake

My mother and I stayed 3 nights and found the cottage very nicely decorated, clean, and comfortable for two people. It's a great place to watch the changing weather over Lake Erie. We're not large people, but found the beds comfortable. With lake breezes and daytime highs around 80, we found no need to use the AC, even at night. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant for walking. During our stay we visited Magee Marsh nearby and Schedel Gardens in Elmore. Our only concern was very poor television reception, which I understand the owner is addressing. Other than the view, my favorite thing about the cottage was the decor - homey without looking dated or beat-up. It has great north light and would be perfect for an artist's retreat. We would certainly consider staying here again.

Great Experience!

Four of my girlfriends and I stayed here for a girls-getaway weekend and couldn't have had a more enjoyable time! The cottage looks exactly like the pictures and is immaculately clean upon arrival- we were instantly impressed. We really wanted to be away from the hoop-lah of the PIB area and Oak Harbor was the perfect solution for a relaxing, quiet stay (and still within a short driving distance from PIB to do some touristy things, and eat out, etc if desired). The only problem we had was figuring out how to get more channels on the tv (only 3 came in) but this was minor and didn't hinder our experience in the least. Overall, it was an excellent long weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if we made this an annual occurrence! Thank you!

Looks Nice - but lacks attention to details

Beautiful cottage, but the owner could do some brushing up on things... When my family arrives at a rental we always explore before bringing in our luggage/unpacking. Upon entering we realized the air had been turned off. It was a hot July day and the temp in the house was 88 degrees. It would have been nice to walk into a house that was cool. It took several hours for to cool down. I noticed that the floors did not seem to be swept (the carpets were vacuumed though) and the counters/table were not wiped clean. Nightstand in small bedroom was dirty. Easy enough to sweep and wipe down - but it should have been clean upon our arrival. I always look at the beds upon arriving at any hotel/rental. The queen bed sheets were dirty in one corner - looked like sand/dirt. There were also small blood stains on the sheets - perhaps from a bug bite/blemish. At that point I called the owner wondering if she was expecting us that day or if there had been confusion and the house not cleaned. She said she was there the previous day and it was spotless. She seemed offended by my phone call. It turns out that she is the one who cleans - instead of having it professionally done. She told me where to find fresh sheets. She did tell me twice that if we didn't want to stay that we could leave and just to let her know if the house was empty. Evolve sent an email with a checkin time of 3:00 and she thought the check-in was 4:00. She turned the conversation into how we were there too early. Even sent a follow up text to me about how she was amazed that I called so quickly complaining to her. Not my idea of a good host. About the house itself... It's decorated beautifully - and the view is great. Some nights you can sit and enjoy the lake, and other nights there are waves that splash on the patio. My husband and son did some great fishing right off the back patio. When we were there the water levels were high enough that there was not a small sandy area off the patio. If you are traveling with children be aware that the air is a window unit that cools the whole house. This makes it difficult to put young children to bed, close the door, and the rest of the family stay up - as the rooms would be too hot. If you plan to cook - bring your own pots/pans. The pots/pans had teflon coating that was scratching off. We went and bought a pot and a pan for our cooking. I would only consider staying here again if it was a new owner.

Breathless Lake View

The sound of the waves cascading over the rocks and to see the sun rise and set...Priceless and the house (minus a few flaws) was perfect in size and had things in stock that you need.

small lake cottage

Very cute place, small but efficient. Had everything nice view of lake, comfy beds, clean, great patio. Only wish there were rails on the entry steps. Would stay again.

Beautiful View

Property was nice located right on the water. Everything inside was very nice and clean. My only suggestion would be to clean up on the sides of the house where the grill is located other than that we enjoyed the property very much.

Beautiful scenery right out the windows

The views from the windows can’t be beat! The sunsets and sunrises are beautiful! Perfect view of the lake and listening to the waves. Very quite neighborhood. We fished right out the back door. The home itself was very clean and stocked with anything you would need. If you forget something Dollar General is a 2 minute drive from the house. We will definitely be back!

Sweet spot on Lake Erie

We were lucky enough to stay right on Lake Erie! We stayed for 3 nights with windy weather that caused the waves and water on the back patio (fun for us to watch), smart to bring ear plugs as the waves crashing got loud at night. Loved the quite and private neighborhood. Kathy was lovely and helped us trouble shoot a power outage for 1 of the 3 days we were staying. Kitchen well stocked and the bedding was good quality. With any lakefront home there is always spider webs and small bugs around. As another review mentions traveling with seniors handrails are needed at the entries.

The location was great for what our visit was about: birding at Magee and surrounding areas.

Great kitchen. Easy to prepare and serve meals. The house was clean and is definitely comfortable for 2 adults, but it was a little tight for three. The door between the master bedroom and the bathroom doesn't latch. One night was stormy, and the door kept banging, keeping us up most of the night. There was little storage for clothes and suitcases . The closets in the small bedroom are filled with owner's property. The exception to storage was a dresser in the master bedroom with empty drawers.

Great location!

We came for the spring walleye run on Lake Erie. The location was outstanding! We really enjoyed walking up and getting an idea of the wave height on the lake. We will be back!
