Space 8,000 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

11 Bedroom, 5 1/2 Bathroom With Mountain Views

Nestled at the base of Bois Mountain in Northern New Hampshire, our shingle style house has a commanding view of a spectacular mountain range. Originally built in the 1800s as part of the mountain resort community as a retreat from formal city living, this grand house is one of the few historic buildings left from that era. With 150 acres, Boismont offers land on which to hike and cross country ski. It is also within 30 minutes of major ski areas (Cannon, Wildcat, Attitash) as well as cross-country areas (Great Glenn Trails in Pinkham Notch, Mt. Washington Hotel). It is an ideal location for weddings, business retreats, and gatherings of family and friends.

The property includes enough bedrooms to fit the extended family or group. It also has a large living room with a fireplace, a screened-in porch, tennis court, swimming hole, barbecue, ping pong, pool table, and laundry facilities.

What makes this house unique

This house is large enough to have an extended group of family or friends without crowding into bunkrooms. The large living room allows everyone to enjoy a winter fire while the screened-in porch provides a place for eating out in the summer air. Beautiful fall foliage on Mount Washington can be viewed from the front lawn.

We loved the victorian styled home, Carter family is doing an awesome job in keeping that victorian character still there, plenty of room for everyone. Very clean place, Adults and kids everyone enjoyed every bit of it.

Quirky, charming, ample space

  • 5 of 5

I and several girlfriends rented this home for a long weekend ladies' getaway. This place is super spacious with plenty of bathrooms and a couple of wonderful deep bathtubs. This was our second time and both times we absolutely loved it. It's an old, quirky place but kept clean. It might be vaguely haunted but whoever is hanging out is friendly. Even with 20+ women in the house we had lots of room to congregate and break away if we wanted to.

The weekend was very rainy, but we made the best of it! And the caretaker Shannon was so thoughtful in bringing us plenty of firewood, and even dragging out the grill for us--which we ended up not being able to use because of the rain. (We still appreciated it though!)

Highly recommend.

Living history weekend in the White Mountains

  • 5 of 5

I rented this house for a home base for a group of living historians for the weekend. 19 adults and 2 children came to the White Mountains to portray tourists from the 1860s. We needed a big space to house all the participants and we were looking for an historic setting. Boy did we find one! This house is full of history. It is truly a special place loved by the same family generation after generation. This was the perfect setting to immerse yourself in history!

The big rooms accommodated our large group. There were so many varied places to sit and visit. We enjoyed the front porch for sitting out and watching the thunderstorms and rain in the evenings. We all fit together in the parlor. The children enjoyed watching television in the other parlor and LOVED playing ping pong and pool in the studio. The dining room and screened in porch fit us all for a formal, sit-down dinner. The kitchen was huge and well stocked with everything we needed. The bedrooms were comfortable and there were enough bathrooms for all. It really was the perfect house for a large group and oh, so comfortable.

The weather was not great, so we did not get to enjoy the property surrounding the house as much as we would have liked. We wandered over to the swimming hole only to get caught in a downpour! But, had it been nice and had we more time, having a fire and a cook-out down by the swimming pool would have been great! The tennis courts were also lovely, but we did not partake. What a great place for a vacation and I'd love to return someday.

I wish I could attach photos to this review because if I could I would share with you a photo of our 1860s living history group in front of the house. We could not have asked for a better place to gather and enjoy the history of the White Mountains!

Family Wedding Weekend Amidst the Mountains

  • 5 of 5

Seventeen family members rented this wonderful Victorian for a family wedding we were attending at the Bellevue Barn at Carlisle Place - just up the road a "spit." ;-) What a wonderful time we had, so many great memories and laughter were shared and new memories created.

The house is very old and holds great history. Although it's old, it is maintained very well. We enjoyed the screened in porch the most as it was a beautiful warm weekend.

I highly recommend this grand Victorian for any large gathering. I hope to rent it again with extended family and/or friends.

Fantastic house with amazing view

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for a weekend away with a large group. The house was fantastic, with more than enough space for us to stretch out and enjoy. The game cottage offered a nice area for some pool and ping pong. The area is spectacular, with views that stretch for miles.

We took in local activities including an highly recommended, amazing zip-line experience at Bretton woods resort.

Debbie was a pleasure to work with, answering all my questions promptly and working with me to best ensure a successful trip.

I highly recommend this house for groups looking to get away and relax.

Excellent Spot for a Team Offsite

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for a leadership team offsite. Had a great and productive time, and the house was terrific. What's a beautiful place! A few good hikes were had, cycling trip, cooking in the spacious kitchen and eating together. Caretaker was nice enough to bring firewood (the upside of rain/chill in June!)--productive and delightful conversations about the fireplace.
