This National Scenic Byway circles Wheeler Peak, the highest in New Mexico, at 13,161 feet. Taos Pueblo
Located just north of the Resort, Taos Pueblo is the only living Native American community designated both a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and a National Historic Landmark. Rio Grande Gorge Bridge
The bridge is located 650 feet above the Rio Grande winding through the rough rock gorge on each side. The bridge was built in the cantilever truss style and is the second highest bridge of its construction in the country. Below, kayakers and river rafts pass, coming out of the famous 'Taos Box', a class IV rapids; above, hot air balloons soar.
