4 Bedrooms 2 Baths With Solid Bamboo Floors-Single Level

We are a legally permitted 4 bedroom short term rental house! Permit #LU 15-267213 CU. We are a registered business with, and pay lodging tax to, the City of Portland (TaySoif LLC). If your booking is on a weekend, please stay four nights.

The four bedroom two bath main house is for guests; we have a tenant in an apartment upstairs which has its own entry and deck.

The perfect house for family or friends, centrally located in the perfect Portland neighborhood. Diverse, rich in culture, excellent food and drink, on transit lines and totally walkable, you won't even need a car we have two or three (single file) off-street parking spaces if you do.

You may not host events including more than twelve people here. Quiet hours must be observed. Please be friendly, it's a friendly street. Our tenant manager lives in a separate apartment above the house, and she has accepted the responsibility to monitor the quiet hours (10PM to 8AM) and occupancy rules.

Awesome clean beds and pillows, and a clean, comfortable, well appointed, great-smelling house in a vibrant neighborhood. Central air! We LOVE to make our guests have the vacation or short term stay they want.

We may negotiate rates if certain dates are not booked, or for a smaller party (1 or 2 people)

This is an urban neighborhood. It's diverse. Most, but not all, of the houses have been restored. You may encounter a panhandler or people with petitions. If these things alarm you, it's not for you. You may want to look in Irvington or in the suburbs. For us, there's everything to love about the Alberta Arts district. Creative and cool, friendly neighbors, fabulous food, flat, walkable, and bikeable. We have Alberta's 'Last Thursday': the divine arts fair on the last Thursday of every warm month, when they close the whole street and the artsy spirit of PDX is in full bloom... Fall in love with Portland here.

We restored this 1970's ranch in 2013 (and again this year when we built the apartment) to give it a geometric, clean, inviting style. Quiet, solid bamboo floors run throughout the house, and every appliance is Energy Star, all the bulbs are LED. It's super private, and the living/outdoor spaces do not intersect with the upstairs tenant's area at all. The front porch is a great place to watch the neighborhood walk by, and the big back yard has a beautiful gazebo with two couches and dining table with umbrella. All for you.

Free wifi.Comcast cable, Netflix. Fully equipped kitchen with such staples as sugar, spices, and oil, cleaning supplies, paper towels, napkins. A private code for each party in the internet-controlled locks. Two bikes with helmets and locks. A charcoal barbecue grill.

It's SUPER important that you realize how much we value the quiet and peace of our neighbors, did I mention that? We understand that you may be on vacation, but they are not. You are their guests in their neighborhood, too.

Public transit is just half a block away!

Hi, I'm Amy. We've been in Oregon 20 years and we love it! We live in a suburb just south of Portland. We bought this house in 2011, gutted it, outfitted it with the greenest solutions we could (solid bamboo floors with a quiet layer of insulation underneath, Energy Star heat and A/C, high efficiency appliances. We love to spend the night here too!

If you know Portland, you know this is the spot. It's diverse, colorful, safe, friendly and fun. You can walk to either corner in the morning for an awesome cup from Fuel Cafe or Extracto, spend a great day in and around Portland, and at night, amble home from the Tin Shed or any number of other establishments within walking distance.

What makes this house unique

We chose this property for its location. It would be hard to find a better one. You can walk to everything, from great food and groceries, to shopping, to public transit. The house is not grand, or deluxe, but it is super inviting with its clean lines and beautiful finishes...the wood floors, the good beds, the open kitchen/living area, which is perfect for groups. We followed that aesthetic in remodeling the front patio with its geometric blue stone and granite path and patio, and a pergola. The front porch and the back yard, weather permitting, are great places to enjoy. The back yard is landscaped with a covered gazebo for those warm months when you'll appreciate the shade. The tenant's upstairs apartment does not intersect with your living space at all.

  • All of our mattresses are new (with the exception of one of the singles). They are of excellent quality - individually wrapped coils - $2,000 beds, and made by Bedco right here in Newburg Oregon. SleepTite mattress covers cover them - clean protection without making you hot. Trust me, we've stayed in hundreds of hotels when we traveled a lot for work. We know what matters when it's bedtime. There's also an airbed with an electric pump.

Wonderfully comfortable, close to shops, restaurants in a great neighborhood. We loved it!

This home was perfect for our needs. Six of us stayed - from age 8 to 87 for an early Christmas celebration. Fun to walk in and be welcomed with a tree! Nice to have some games/puzzle, too.

SUPER CLEAN!!!! Great closet space, nice to have that and feel we could relax without cluttering up the bedrooms.

The kitchen was well stocked, as was the entire home from dishes to linens. Coffee and wine on hand along with a nice selection of spices and condiments. Everything worked beautifully. We contacted Amy a couple of times with quick questions. She was a lovely host, responsive and thoughtful. We would rent again! Having the keyless entry was perfect for the days when we went our separate ways. This was a sweet home away from home.

Lovely home in a quiet neighborhood close to Alberta St., with all the amenities you need.

This was a perfect location for our recent trip to Portland to visit our son. The kitchen was well equipped and made it easy to prepare breakfasts, and a couple of dinners there. The detailed info left in the kitchen was great, and answered most of our questions, and Amy responded promptly to any further questions we had. The lock was easy to use, and secure. Because it was on one level, it was great for my mother-in-law who was traveling with us. The upstairs renter was quiet. We were just a block away from Alberta St., where there were places to eat, shop, get groceries, gifts etc., all within walking distance. Having a driveway really helped, as we rented a car, and street parking was difficult. There was even a lovely Christmas tree to greet us. We would definitely receommend this property, and may stay there again in the future. Thanks again Amy!

Wonderful place for a group of friends to share!

Each fall my friends and I plan a special trip together to explore a new city. Amy's house was a perfect place for us to enjoy the city of Portland. First of all, Amy's house is legally licensed so we had no worries about last minute problems. There was plenty of room for 5 women to be together and have quiet moments as well. The beds and linens were very, very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked for any kind of cooking we may have wanted to do. However, we didn't cook much because there were so many great coffee shops, restaurants, wine bars, food trucks, etc within easy walking distance. An added bonus for this house is that there is a driveway for parking!

The Alberta Arts district is just a great place to stay. It was an easy ride from the airport and a good location to hop on the highways to take us on day trips to wine country or to the Oregon coast.

Amy was a great host. She always responded within a very short time to answer questions, etc. She even brought us a bottle of wine and some treats one day when she came to replace some light bulbs. Thank you, Amy, for helping to make our trip so enjoyable!

Great location. Everything you need in house. Plenty of space.

Great place to stay. Location is awesome. Nice to have a drive way for parking although backing out can be difficult depending on how well street parkers performed. House has everything you will need. Beds comfortable. We had ants in the kitchen but no big deal - those type of things often are beyond anyone's control. Overall a great experience.

Great house

Amy's house is a wonderful place to stay in Portland. It was clean, well-equipped and spacious for our group of five adults. Access was easy and Amy was available to answer questions. The neighborhood is quiet and convenient to any area of Portland.
