About the property

Log cabin on 280 acre Sevier River Ranch - 25 mins to Bryce, 50 mins to Zion

The Wranglers Quarters @ Sevier River Ranch & Cattle Company is a private studio style log cabin located on a quiet 280 acre cattle ranch in Hatch, between Bryce Canyon (25 mins) and Zion National Park (50 mins).

The air conditioned Quarters are newly decorated with ranching antiques and consist of a main room with one California king bed, a kitchenette with sink, microwave, refrigerator and "Nespresso" style automatic espresso and coffee maker (no stove or cooking utensils) and a private bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. It sleeps 2 people and is about the size of a large hotel room.

The private deck offers panoramic view across the ranch's pastures (where you may see cattle being herded by cowboys during the summer), the Sevier River winding through the ranch, and the Hatch valley. A charcoal BBQ is available for your use outside (charcoal not provided).

High speed Internet service (free wifi) and DirecTV satellite TV service are available.

The Wranglers Quarters are located next to the Ranch Hands Bunkhouse (sleeps 2 in 2 twin beds), available for rent via a separate listing. In the event you are renting only the Wranglers Quarters, please be advised that there may be 2 other guests staying at the Ranch Hands Bunkhouse simultaneously.

Should you need even more space for your group, you may consider renting the main Ranch House which sleeps 6 and is available via separate listing.

You will enjoy a good night rest in eery silence. If you're from the big city, it will take some getting used to!

The property is equipped with state-of-the-art electronic locks so that guests can check themselves in at any time, and late check-in is not a problem. Guests can roam freely on the ranch as well as fish (with a Utah fishing license, that can be purchased online) and swim in the Sevier River.

We are always available to answer any questions or give you tips for daytrips or restaurants. We speak fluent French, German, Spanish and English. Do not hesitate to reach out with any question, prior or during your trip.

Whether you are looking to explore the natural wonders of the area (the Quarters are located between 2 of the most visited National Parks in the country) or whether you're an animal lover (there is cattle on the property during the summer, many deer roam on the property, you can watch a large array of birds right from the deck, and we have the biggest animal shelter in the US is 45 minutes away), the Quarters have it all.

The Wranglers Quarters are located on the Sevier River Ranch in Hatch, a small rural town of 200 people. Locals are very friendly and helpful, and you shouldn't hesitate to ask anyone for tips and recommendations.

The Sevier River Ranch is very private on the edge of town. It sits on 280 acres and is traversed by the Sevier River and there are typically 100+ head of cattle on the property during the summer season

Note that there are no grocery stores in Hatch and you should plan to bring at least some food with you. The nearest grocery store is in Panguitch (15 mins) and you will find a Walmart Supercenter in Cedar City (1 hour).

There is no public transportation. You will need a car. 4x4 or high clearance is recommended in order to enjoy the surrounding trails, but a regular low-clearance sedan is sufficient to access the Quarters themselves.

We have a strict no-pet and no-smoking policy.

An oasis on a hill overlooking a beautiful pasture. The first evening we had a wild turkey and her two chicks walk by us in the hillside meadow right in front of us. Right after that a doe and her three fawns came out a pranced around in front of us! I thought it couldn’t get any better until at sunset a team of horses came thundering back and forth across the field below while the sun set behind them. At night the stars were too numerous to count and I have never slept in such quietness. What a gem!

The cabin was clean and had just enough space for two people. The deck was the best feature and a great meeting place for the other guests. The local establishments were quaint and we utilized them to get coffee since we are not espresso fans. Would have liked to have a few more washcloths for our three day stay but it didn’t take away from this five star gem on a hill.

Owner's Response: The view, peacefulness, serenity, night sky, soft beds, cleanliness, wildlife, cattle and horses are the things that set the Sevier River Ranch & Cattle Company apart from the rest.

Owner's Response: I am happy to see that you enjoyed your stay at our Wranglers Quarters cabin. My favorite thing about that cabin is the view of the cattle, horses, birds, and other wildlife and the river flowing through the pasture below. We hope to host you again some day.

I'm truly sad that we have to leave. This place was awesome! The views were amazing, the bed was super comfy, and you could literally enjoy the nature from the pillow. It was really close to Bryce canyon and other national/state parks. I would absolutely stay here again.

Great place to stay while visiting the area!

We enjoyed our time at the log cabin in Hatch. The cabin was very clean and had all we needed for our visit. The owner was very friendly and helpful with places to eat or visit. We enjoyed hiking at Bryce Canyon, Willis Creek Canyon, Kodachrome State Park and Cascading Falls. We saw deer off our deck each day and a very large jack rabbit. This cabin is off the beaten path, but you get beautiful scenery and quiet starry nights.

Serene and peaceful.

My husband and I loved this little gem in the middle of a beautiful ranch. It was a peaceful respite after hectic days of sightseeing in Bryce Canyon and other nearby attractions. It was very clean-which is a priority for me. I loved the cows, deer, magpie, and jack rabbits that frequented the property. It was wonderful sitting on the deck looking down at the Sevier river and the cattle/horses grazing. Beautiful views all around. It is an excellent location near the small town of Hatch-nestled close by Bryce, Zion, and Cedar. We dined at either The Cowboy Smokehouse or Ruby's Inn- both a short 15 minute drive away and both were delicious. There is only a microwave and refrigerator in the cabin- so it's just easier to eat out. Honestly, I only saw one other person while we stayed there and heard no one the entire time-even though there were multiple people staying there in other cabins. I hope to come back again to do more hiking and will want to stay at the Sevier Ranch. The only thing I would have changed was the coffee maker. It uses little coffee/espresso pods and honestly we drink too much coffee for something like that. I would have preferred to take my own coffee and used a regular coffee pot to make as much as we like to drink.

Nice cabin in lovely setting

  • 4 of 5

We booked Wranglers Quarters 2 nights and Gordon was able to graciously place us in The Barn one night on extremely short notice after anther VRBO in Kanab cancelled our reservation at literally the last minute. Both cabins were very clean and comfortable, though a bit spartan when it came to cooking ( no stove or cooktop ), though I suppose most guests don't cook while on holiday. The grounds were very nice to relax in after a day of hiking. Very convenient to Bryce, Kodachrome Basin, and the western part of GSENM. We would stay here again if we're fortunate enough to be back in this area.
