Built in 1916 as a summer residence, which it remains, “Blueberry Hill” features many period architectural details. Situated on the highest spot in the Rockholm section of Annisquam, the house continues to capture the cooling breezes wafting across Ipswich Bay, as it has for nearly a century.
The first floor comprises a sun porch, living room, dining room seating eight, kitchen, laundry room, and half bath. There is a single bedroom off the laundry room, and a bedroom with king sized bed off the living room.
There is a large mahogany deck off the back of the house, which is accessible via the dining room and the back bedroom. It is surrounded by lawn, massive granite rocks, and mature trees and is very private.
The focal point of the living room is a fireplace faced with beautiful granite boulders. Double, sliding glass doors lead to the “Sun Porch” and its three walls of windows. The door in the Sun Porch opens onto granite steps, which lead down to the lower garden with its blueberry bushes, rose bushes and dozens of hosta plants.
On the second floor, three bedrooms, a full bath with tub, and a separate “shower room” are arranged around a central hall. In addition, there is an alcove with single bed – a perfect spot for napping or reading in the afternoons.
The property also features a separate Guest Cottage with queen bed and bath with shower. It has baseboard heat and air conditioning.
Including the Guest Cottage, “Blueberry Hill” sleeps 8 to 10 comfortably.
Renters have rights to one of the most beautiful, white sandy beaches on the North Shore. Known as “Little Lighthouse Beach,” it is a five-minute walk from the house.
“Sunset Rock” is another, very short walk from the house and a perfect spot for sipping cocktails and watching the sun setting over Ipswich Bay.
Boston is easily accessible an approximately 60 minutes by train from the Gloucester depot. In addition to downtown Gloucester and its many retail shops and restaurants, Rockport, Manchester, Beverly Farms, and Salem are all great places to explore.
We will meet you at the house when you arrive, give you a quick tour, and answer any questions you may have.
RENTAL AGREEMENT. We will email the Rental Agreement to you after we've confirmed details with you by phone.
TERMS. 50% with Rental Agreement; 50% 15 days prior to first day of rental period.
NOTE: There is a default statement under Get An Instant Quote Option - 'Taxes and fees are additional.' Other than the $300 Cleaning Fee, we do not charge any additional fees or taxes.
We accept payments via check, bank check, or money order. We do not accept online payments.
CANCELLATION POLICY: The Rental Agreement is not subject to cancellation; any payments made to OWNER by LESSEE are not refundable.
