Rustic Retreat- This cabin in the woods is the perfect getaway!

This 1,400 sq ft cabin in the woods is in the perfect location for all of the things to do in Houghton Lake. Enough parking for all of your toys with a circle driveway for easy in/out to the road. Sleeps up to 7. The 1st floor bedroom has a queen size bed. The 2nd floor loft has a queen and 3 twins/trundle beds. A Roku TV, games and books for the rainy days. A great fire pit includes the wood to use. Free wi-fi. This retreat is just 500 ft to two boat launches or ice fishing. It is also 20 minutes to the Nightmare, Dream, Quest, and Forest Dunes golf courses. There are several beaches located around the lake to swim at. The home is located on an acre of land with 100’s of acres of wooded state land attached. There are some trails out the door and more 3 miles away. Great place for all seasons. Several parks and beaches.

It was peaceful nice property. My only complaint is that I had to buy T. P. , washcloths , and trash bags. There were not enough supplies for 2 people 6 days.

This place was perfect for our family! It had everything we needed. It's a short drive to Houghton Lake, Higgins Lake and the AuSable River. We stayed four nights and were able to take our boys kayaking, swimming, tubing and out on a boat ride so they could fish. And they loved exploring the woods out back. Diane was an amazing host! She responded right away to any questions we had. She even had a s'mores kit and coffee for us when we arrived. The fire pit area was perfect for us to make s'mores and plenty of seating. There are so many things to do close to the Rustic Retreat. If we come back to this area we will definitely try to book this place again. If I could give 10 stars I would!

This was a perfect cabin to stay at for a weekend up north to watch the ausable river canoe marathon and do some bike riding around Higgins lake. This cabin was clean, cozy, and perfect for the weekend. It was a comforting, cozy, cabin.
