Recently retired, own and operate ranch with our house 1/2 mile south of the entrance. The cabin is another quarter mile south out of view of the main house. We run horses and cattle on the ranch, but they will not bother you and we ask you respect their solitude. We love the country, rodeo's, golf, boating on Lake Bridgeport, swimming, tennis, racquetball, travel and the peace and quiet of the country.
Rick Lifto purchased this cabin in 2010
We bought this ranch from the granddaughter of a man who homesteaded this ranch in 1886. The stone house near the gate was originally part of the property. After we rehabilitated it with the intent to start a winery, the neighbors horse pasture was sold and changed the scenery, so we sold the house to a friend and developed the ranch land. As you arrive at the gate, you will have been provided a special temporary code to open the gate. Or, if you lose the code, just call Rick's cell number which will have been provided. Also, the home number is posted on the gate box.
If you enjoy solitude, modern comfort, yet the ability to enjoy the country, we believe you will enjoy staying here. You can fish in the pond close to the cabin. It is stocked with catfish, perch, bass, and crappie. Each year we add more fish. February 21st, 2015 we added another 200 bass, blue gill, & crappie. Due to flooding and loss of much of our fish, we added another 300 catfish and perch in early June 2015 and again In February 2016. Bring your horses, and you can use our corral and trails.
For the ranch bring your ATV, 4 wheeler, or simply enjoy the ranch on hiking the trails, biking, grilling or simply relax around a camp fire. Use the gun range with agreement to abide by the safety agreement. Also, we have bow and arrows for use at the range. We have two flat screen televisions with cable TV, DVD player, movies and Wi-fi. Enjoy an evening soak in the two person hot tub, located in the master bedroom.

This cabin was fantastic! Perfect getaway. My boyfriend and I stayed for a weekend. We arrived Friday and the owner, Rick, gave us a tour and told us all of the ins and outs of the cabin and the land. It was great! There's a grill, picnic table, tree swing, horseshoes, fireplace, fishing pond, and shooting range all right outside the front door of the cabin. We brought our dog and she had a blast exploring!
We will definitely be back in the future and will be telling our friends and family about this cabin!
Thanks for a wonderful weekend!!
My husband and our 11 & 13 year-old sons stayed here for the weekend. We loved the cabin, especially the little electric fireplace which heated the entire kitchen/living area. Rick gave us a tour of the ranch Saturday morning and we saw baby wild hogs and got to feed the horses. We rented 4 wheelers and spent a couple of hours driving all over the ranch. We played horseshoes, shot guns, had a picnic, fished and caught several catfish, watched football and napped. It was such a fun, yet relaxing weekend.
My wife and I were looking for a secluded getaway to celebrate our 9 year anniversary and Estancia de Lifto was exactly that. The weekend weather was perfect, so we enjoyed sitting on the porch, sitting by fires at a large fire pit, and sitting by the pond. The woods are peaceful there and so we likewise enjoyed taking short walks. We saw deer and other wildlife. The owner and ranch hand were very pleasant to speak with and all needs were met. As for our experience in Bridgeport, we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at Brandi's Country Kitchen. The Mexican food at Dos Chiles Grandes was tasty, and the Italian at Pronto's Italian Restaurant and Pizza was so some of the best we've had. The experience was very refreshing for the both of us. We are looking forward to visiting this ranch again!
We absolutely enjoyed ourselves, just me and my husband. The cabin was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. We only had to go up to Bridgeport to get food because we forgot to pick up on the way. We even had cable, in two rooms! We especially enjoyed the shooting range. We loved it and hope to be back soon.
I typically don't write reviews, but this was such a great place and Rick was so good to text us back or show up almost immediately if we had any questions or problems. The pond had some large catfish with the best fishing early or late in the day. The screened in front porch with easy chairs and ceiling fans made for some great naps. There was horses shoes, archery and fire pit with long roasting rods made for hot dogs or marsh mellows. large marsh mellows and assorted goodies were on the dining table when we arrived. The master bedroom had a very nice whirlpool tub.
Rick was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. My boys loved the fishing pond and shooting range. The cabin has updated interior with lots of fans and hot tub. Great lil get-away.....would completely recommend!!!
