4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathroom Beautiful view overlooking the Mouth of Kenai River
Kenai Bluff House is located in downtown historic Kenai. The house was built in 1935, and bought by my grandparents in 1947. My dad was raised in this house! Of course, the house has been remodeled and has all the modern conveniences, but has a wonderful and rich family history. The home has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of room for your whole family.
The property has a large lawn and outdoor furniture for enjoying the stunning view of Cook Inlet. You can watch the fishing boats come and go with the tide. Eagles often land right on the lawn as they are out cruising for their next ocean meal.
Kenai is a small town and the “downtown” is quaint and quiet. The home is located at the end of a residential street. It is located next door to Erik Hansen Scout Park, a small community park and contains a bronze statue of a Boy Scout overlooking the Cook Inlet. Interpretive displays point out many physical features of the landscape and a memorial plaque is attached to the base of the statue. Park includes few trees, some shrubs, two flower gardens, and a gravel walkway leading to the bluff’s edge. This is a great area just to sit, relax and enjoy the extensive views over the lower Cook Inlet, tidal lands, and mouth of the Kenai River.
We are located within walking distance of the historical Russian Orthodox Church and Kenai Visitor and Convention Center which has a historical walking tour available within this area. This property is on the walking tour, as The Showalter House (#10) !!
There are several nice places to eat where you can walk as well.
Reasonable rates per night for four people. No separate cleaning fee. However, guests must not leave fish remains on property. Cleaning fee applies if fish remains are left on property.

About Jennifer and Jason Yeoman
This house was past down to me from my dad. He was raised in this house along with all his siblings in only 4 rooms including the kitchen, which did not have a bathroom or a living room. I was born and raised on the Kenai Peninsula as well and Jason was born in Nome and has lived on the Kenai Peninsula since 1994. We lived in this house with our growing family and loved being so close to town, but feeling like being out of town. We hope to share our culture with you as I, Jennifer, am part Dena'ina Athabaskin and Jason is part Inupiaq.
Jennifer and Jason Yeoman purchased this House in 1947
Why Jennifer and Jason Yeoman chose Kenai
The view that you will have from this property is amazing! You can see all three mountains, Mt. Spurr, Mt. Redoubt and Mt. Iliamna! The sunrise and sun sets are seen from this property, and are incredible, especially in the winter months! You can see the dip net fishery in the month of July, as well as all entire commercial fishing boats coming in and out of the river with the various openings. If you are lucky, you might see a beluga or two and you will definitely see seagulls and eagles flying and landing on the bluff! Alaska has endless places to visit and see! We have tried to bring some of it to the rooms for you to enjoy. Any questions that you may have about what Alaska has to offer you we would be happy to help with!
What makes this House unique
The land of the midnight sun can bring much light that many people are not use to. The rooms have black out blinds that help people who need a little extra help to go to sleep. The house is located on a street which is closed to through traffic, therefore is very quiet!

Better than expected!
Slept 5 adults and 6 kids with no problems at all! Views are AMAZING. Wish we could've stayed longer but only needed it for the weekend. Couldn't get the tv to catch anything but channel 2 but it made no difference to us since we weren't there much. Will absolutely be booking this next year.
The property was beautiful even in the winter. The house was great!
We really enjoyed our stay! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets!! We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving with our family! Amazing kitchen!! Jason and Jennifer were great!! Always answered our calls and very accommodating!!
great location and view, plenty of room and very comfortable. could use more seating (only a couch in living room)
Million Dollar views!
You know you have a good view when tourists come into your yard to take pictures!
Great location for exploring the Kenai Peninsula- Homer, Soldokna, & Seward
Great room inside house and great outdoor living area
Glad you enjoyed the property and the amazing view! Hope to see you again!
An Unbelievable Setting, Historical character on the outside with modern on the inside.
It is clear why this location was built on so many years ago. Literally right on the bluff where the mighty Kenai River dumps into the Cook Inlet. We had a rather long drive down to Deep Creek for our fishing excursions but the drive was well worth it. Would love to make a return trip with others in my family. Loved our stay!
Very glad you enjoyed our town and property. We lived there for 15 years and loved everyday of it! Hope to see you again.
Very special place
It is just as described. This was the second time we have stayed at Bluff Housed. We would like to stay next year but it was already booked. It is close to everything but is on a dead end street and out of the way. The view from the yard or sun room is spectacular. The only problem we had was trying to get hold of the owner. I tried several times to contact her by email, HomeAway message, and phone with no success. She finely got back to me to get my credit card # which is why I was trying to get hold of her in the first place. The bank had changed the # because of suspicious activity. When we got to the house, the code we had did not work but there where four phone numbers posted in the window and we where able to get hold of someone that came promptly down to let us in. In the end, everything worked out.
I would recommend Bluff House to anyone without question.
Sorry about any confusion but glad it all worked out for your trip. Hope we see you again in the future!
Kenai Bluff House is located in historic Old Town Kenai, right on the bluff overlooking the mouth of the Kenai River and Cook Inlet. It is very near the Kenai Visitors Center. It is less than two miles from the airport, restaurants, and fishing. You can walk to the beach for beachcombing. Eagles regularly are in the yard.
