About Mim Miller

We were high school sweethearts and married soon after graduation. The rental suite was actually our first apartment. We have enjoyed living on the farm ever since and it was a great place to raise our 3 children, all of whom are now married.

The farm's lineage has been traced to a deed signed in 1750 and we're passionate about the family farm as an integral part of the fabric of our nation. We really see ourselves as stewards. We have such a connection to the farmland, and that in turn translates into a God connection. We value where the land came from. There's no more being created, and we value it as a treasure. We have a responsibility to it.

As a family-owned and operated business, the Miller Homestead, up until 2012, was a dairy farm. We continue to raise heifers for a neighbor and grow corn, hay, soybeans and barley.

We enjoy traveling and often stay in vacation rentals in out of the way places. Many times through the years we have hosted out of town relatives and friends in our home and love to share in their lives. When the apartment was vacated, we decided it was the right time in our lives to make it available to travelers.

The Miller Homestead is located within easy highway access to Lancaster, York, Harrisburg or Philadelphia, providing many options for day trips. Children can enjoy playing in a large yard or watching the farmer at work. The owner is a Licensed Massage Therapist for those seeking the benefits of a therapeutic massage. Please contact owner prior to arriving to check availability.

Cozy little in law suite apartment on a farm in the relaxing countryside

  • 5 of 5

My second stay at Miller’s R&R so right off you know of all the choices around here this is the place for me. Not far at all to Hersey, Elizabethtown is right there and not just the spot in the road I thought it was before but a nice little town (first visit I never drove through the town) and nice 4 lane highways to get you easily over to Lancaster city or over close to Amish stores in Bird In Hand, Intercourse, Ronks, etc. Or just sit around the apartment, cook, read, go walk the farm trail, watch the cows, listen to the naaa of the little goats, just look around at the nice scenery of the farm and around it, this is a great to just be. And one of favorite Lancaster area activities is just go back roads driving especially in the heart of Amish country and take in scenery and the Amish working the fields, look online there is a website of covered bridges there are more in the county here than any where in the country makes for fun exploring. This place is super clean even the yard around the house and no it doesn’t smell nor is it all muddy like some farms are paved driveway and wide brick walkway to the house. This place puts the few ‘farms’ I saw growing up as a young man to shame. Yeah the farm trail and such is a bit muddy/dirt but that’s on the far side of the barn away from the house and this is a working farm after all. I walked a little bit of the trail took lots of pictures of the scenery and have already posted them to Facebook on the free WiFi. Like I said this is a great cozy little place to relax and enjoy. Nice modern kitchen and air mattress bed good bathroom the shower stall is on the small side but nothing is totally perfect. I will be back!

A peaceful retreat on a working farm.

  • 5 of 5

I was in town for the Hershey AACA car show this last week. Located about 9 miles from Hershey, and just outside of lovely Elizabethtown, the farm is conveniently located. The Millers are welcoming and friendly...I felt right at home. Their farm has a lovely house and barn with cows and goats in the rolling pastures. The private apartment is situated along the back part of their farmhouse, which has been in the family for over 100 years. Everything that I needed for a nice stay was provided...a comfortable bed, homemade soap, a fully-stocked kitchen and everything was spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend the Miller's apartment if you are visiting this area in Pennsylvania.

A Good Find!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 3 nights at the Miller Homestead R & R during a trip to PA that combined business and family fun. Our 3 nights at the R&R were part of the family fun. My husband commented many times throughout our stay that this was "a good find". We enjoyed the peacefulness, coffee on the porch, the cows, goats and walking the property. The accommodations were clean and we enjoyed making meals there as well. We had an opportunity to speak with both Clair and Mim who are a delight. I do hope we have an opportunity to go back.

We attended a family wedding at Ironstone Ranch. The Miller Homestead is conveniently maybe 3 miles. Thank you both.

Peaceful haven

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights after traveling from San Antonio, TX. This is a place where one can leave behind the hectic often fast paced work-a-day world. We enjoyed the setting with the farm animals and the fields of crops. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped for preparing light meals. The bathroom is well appointed. Cleanliness was indeed a plus. We would encourage others who wish to relax. The trip we took to Gettysburg and Hershey, PA was not too far. Thank you Mim and Clair for your hospitality and friendly manner.
