About Mim Miller

We were high school sweethearts and married soon after graduation. The rental suite was actually our first apartment. We have enjoyed living on the farm ever since and it was a great place to raise our 3 children, all of whom are now married.

The farm's lineage has been traced to a deed signed in 1750 and we're passionate about the family farm as an integral part of the fabric of our nation. We really see ourselves as stewards. We have such a connection to the farmland, and that in turn translates into a God connection. We value where the land came from. There's no more being created, and we value it as a treasure. We have a responsibility to it.

As a family-owned and operated business, the Miller Homestead, up until 2012, was a dairy farm. We continue to raise heifers for a neighbor and grow corn, hay, soybeans and barley.

We enjoy traveling and often stay in vacation rentals in out of the way places. Many times through the years we have hosted out of town relatives and friends in our home and love to share in their lives. When the apartment was vacated, we decided it was the right time in our lives to make it available to travelers.

The Miller Homestead is located within easy highway access to Lancaster, York, Harrisburg or Philadelphia, providing many options for day trips. Children can enjoy playing in a large yard or watching the farmer at work. The owner is a Licensed Massage Therapist for those seeking the benefits of a therapeutic massage. Please contact owner prior to arriving to check availability.

What makes this apartment unique

Peaceful haven

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights after traveling from San Antonio, TX. This is a place where one can leave behind the hectic often fast paced work-a-day world. We enjoyed the setting with the farm animals and the fields of crops. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped for preparing light meals. The bathroom is well appointed. Cleanliness was indeed a plus. We would encourage others who wish to relax. The trip we took to Gettysburg and Hershey, PA was not too far. Thank you Mim and Clair for your hospitality and friendly manner.

Tranquil Perfection!

Our family loved our stay! It was the perfect escape following busy days in Hershey! The boys fished in the pond, ran through the fields, visited the cows... it was fantastic! Mim is a wonderful hostess! Thank you for sharing your beautiful property.

Excellent Experience!

  • 5 of 5

Although we weren't at the Homestead very often due to it's convenient location to many attractions, we truly enjoyed our stay. The home was extremely clean and the online description was exceptional, along with the guides for all of the appliances. Very organized! We loved greeting the cows and goats each morning and evening! Mim And Clair were an absolute pleasure and very welcoming!

An absolute gem!

  • 5 of 5

My 8-yr old daughter and I stayed here for a "girls weekend" right before she started 3rd grade. We had plans for a day at Hershey - I thought I would make it an adventure by staying in the area a few nights, but I wasn't finding any reasonable hotels in the area.

This was the perfect solution. 22 minutes from Hershey. While being so quiet and peaceful, it's still very close to anything that you would need. (Restaurants, grocery stores)

The suite is absolutely beautiful - clean and modern. You can see right away that so much care went into the renovations, while at the same time keeping the historical character of the home intact. Everything we could have needed was provided. The sleep number bed was wonderful. We absolutely loved seeing the family history documented in framed photos on the walls.

Owners Mim and Clair are the best! Incredibly friendly and helpful, yet respectful of guests privacy. Mim helped my daughter feed the little goats one evening, and it was an experience of a lifetime for her!

We took a stroll each day on the walking trail through the homestead. So beautiful and relaxing! Such a special place.

P.S. We Lovvvvved the handmade soaps provided that are handmade on the homestead!

Wonderful!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the Miller Homestead. The farm is beautiful and is centrally located (close to Hershey Park, Gettysburg, Harrisburg, and Lancaster). The Miller's were very nice and informative. The farm has cows, goats, and a just beautiful trail. My daughter loved the goats especially Boomer. The Millers let her feed them which was the highlight of the trip for her. The apartment is great and was perfect for our family of four. It has one bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living room. The couch is very comfortable so much so that I fell asleep on it more than a couple times. Thank you to the Miller's for making us feel so comfortable and giving us such a special experience.
