About this property

Get Away Cabin in Claysville ~ Covered deck~ Watch the Sunrise & Sunset~

Nestled in Claysville, this delightful cabin offers 3 cozy bedrooms with a mix of a king, queen, and full bed. Surrounded by game lands & view that allows you to see 3 different states, there is always a show to watch outside. Catch the sunrise on one side & watch the sunset on the other side. Claysville is known for its low human light inference, so it makes a great spot for stargazing. Watch the moon from the covered deck. Listen to the birds and enjoy the quiet as you might not see another car (besides the neighbor) on the secluded gravel road leading upto the 300 yard driveway. Small shops & good eats near bye, also close to historic Washington County & Cabela's. Wildlife is plentiful around with deer, turkey, bobcats & even a few bears. The 2 bathrooms are equipped with a refreshing shower. No hunting on site, but property is connected to state game lands. We look forward to welcoming you to our place.

The property was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Phone service at the property was excellent. Only connected to wifi one time during our stay. Plenty of room for large groups with privacy if needed.

About the host

My wife & I are both born & raised in Pittsburgh. We bought this place as a quick get away for our family with 2 young boys as it reminded me in different ways of the farms my grandparents had. With the crazy life & sports schedule, we wanted to open our place up for more people to have the opportunity at a quick & easy get away from the city life & enjoy rural life surrounded by rolling hills and plenty of song birds.

Why they chose this property

The seclusion of being close to things but having nobody around. You can open hte door & let your kids run free without worry of traffic being close. When you are sitting on the back deck, you might hear an occasional car on the main road but you will not see one. You will feel away from the hustle & bustle of life while watching the hummingbirds fight at the feeder. You will hear the cows next door, you will want to wake up early to watch the sunrise & then after watching the sunset, you will want to stay up late to watch the moon and the stars come out. With being so close to Pittsburgh, it makes this a quick trip get away.

What makes this property unique

The location, it is private, away from the loud noises and fast pace of the city. It use to be a working farm but we have converted into our oases of peace. You can walk through the game lands, fish one of the several lakes near by & just enjoy how quiet it really is.
