Downstairs studio has another double including small second kitchen and second bathroom. Main floor includes kitchen, bathroom, dining booth and living room with fireplace, large windows with view of trees and open floor plan - sliding glass doors open onto deck.

In the winter, you will find yourself in a true winter wonderland. The roads aren't plowed, access is by snowmobile. You will need to arrange your transport in and out with snowmobile either by renting your own or reserving a taxi ride with a local snowmobile company. There are limited hours for transportation (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM) and these need to be reserved in advance. We pay for one ride in and all extra rides are $25. In good snow years, you can ski to the shuttle to Bear Valley ski resort and then ski back at the end of the day. Bear Valley village is just a 15 minute walk away (about six blocks). It is easy and beautiful to walk.

Come enjoy this comfortable cabin in a unique mountain setting.

About Freya McCamant

We purchased this home in spring of 2013, because we love skiing at Bear Valley. It reminds us of what Tahoe used to be with a relaxed family friendly atmosphere. Everyone we have met goes the extra mile. We love the adventure of skiing in and out. After spending time there during the summer of 2013, we have fallen in love with the summer season as well. There are camp opportunities for kids from soccer to archery. There are numerous hiking, mountain biking, swimming and fishing opportunities in the nearby lakes, rivers, National Forests and Wilderness areas. Some people enjoy Bear Valley in the summer more than the winter -- our family loves both seasons. We hope that whatever season you chose to go that you will find the Bear Valley area as inspiring as we have!

Beautiful winter weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for letting us stay at your home, it is cozy, but has a lot of space! We did have to keep the fire going continuously, but it usually went out in the middle of the night. The pictures on the walls that were heaters were actually very effective! And the downstairs bathroom and bedroom were definitely warm for defrosting after being outside, and that’s where we would take showers so it would be the warmest. Otherwise everything else was exactly as stated, no surprises. It’s a great little village with shops, pizza and beer. And it was great that it snowed our last evening there, so we got to enjoy the view and play around in it. The road did get plowed in the morning because there was about 5-6” or more of snow, but our vehicle had four wheel drive for assurance. All in all, it’s a sweet, charming, cozy cabin and no complaints and was an amazing vacation for us!

Great place to relax with friends in the mountains.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at the Rainbow Connection cabin. The quiet neighborhood (away from the roads) was beautiful and peaceful. It was a great area to walk/XC ski and sled right outside the door. We had a nice fire in the woodstove, it was an easy walk to the cabin from the road and parking, and there's quick access to all the good stuff at Bear Valley as well. We enjoyed getting out to ski and sled, but hanging out at the cabin around the fire and cooking meals to share at the big table were probably the best parts of our stay. The cabin had everything we needed and was comfy and cozy. The pictures and descriptions on the site were accurate. The decor is funky, but that was part of the charm. Thanks to Mark and Freya for being responsive and making sure we had what we needed.

Fun, friendly, inviting, and a great vacation home.

We had a great time in the snow, kids loved the bunk beds, and the wood burning fireplace (thank you for the wood) was marvelous with the white (snow) background... Thank you! Will be here again!

Authentic high mountain A frame cabin, perfect for family getaway in Bear Valley

  • 5 of 5

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay over the holidays. This spacious A frame cabin has the perfect location along Bear Valley Rd aka "lunch run" so we were able to ski home, as well as walk to Sky High Pizza in the village not far below. This cabin has much character and features a classic wood stove, distressed wood ceiling, fun diner style booth, and generous loft for the kids. Such a cool place to stay and highly recommend!

Romance with Bear Valley

  • 5 of 5

My romance with Bear Valley begins and ends with the snowmobile community that is tucked behind the BV lodge. Aside from the fantastic mountain, incredible surroundings and friendly locals our stay at the house/cabin located at 11 John Ebbetts was perfect for our large family and friends. A spacious, rustic cabin tucked close to amenities like Sky High Pizza yet, accessible from the backside mountain terrain from ski runs named Lunch Run and Home Run, the latter simply summing up our trip.
