Why Bass Lake Realty chose Yosemite Area

Although walking to the local village shops sounded fun and convenient, it was also more congested and noisier. The deeper year round waters, the large no wake zone surrounding the marina, and the proximity to the mountain bike trails won us over. And it is only a 4 minute drive or boat ride to the village…

What makes this house unique

We enjoy a location just across the street from the lake with awesome sit down views, and right below one of the best mountain bike trails around! Wonderful cul-de-sac neighborhood with plenty of parking for our many guests. We also enjoy the trees and space between the other homes. The quiet waters of the marina are a great relaxer and we have plenty of opportunity for whatever type of exercise we are in the mood for.

Guestbook comments from the manager

This was a first for me, renting a house thru the internet. Started out camping at Denver Church when camping was permissible, 1960;s. From there we camped normally at Wishon Camp ground. Later we stayed there using a motor home, 1970-80. From then on we always rented the same LITTLE cabin at the Forks Resort.

After our grand-child arrived the Forks became a little less desirable. I had to rent 2 cabins, then the noise factor with car alarms, barking dogs, excessive loud people and delivery trucks made our stay uncomfortable. This made me look at alternatives.

Knowing the Lake PRETTY well I always visioned a lake front cabin in Willow Cove, however $5000.00 up was out of my price affordability. We always spent a lot of time near the Dam area to get away form people, boat traffic and noise. We are fairly quiet people.

Knowing of Marina View, as well as seeing it built up I was surprised to find rentals available, yours being one of them. After looking at the available sites in Marina View on the computer yours sounded the best for our needs. I have to admit that my wife, son, and daughter-in-law questioned my computer skills in taking care of the rental and after our stay there admitted that they all were concerned what DAD was up too this time AND IF ALL WOULD WORK OUT ok.

All being said we ALL loved your house, it worked out great. Having 2 levels gave my wife and daughter-in-law some privacy, my wife loved your kitchen and the Lake views, my daughter-in-law loved your sun deck and lake views, My son & I very much liked your Marina although it would have been nice to see my boat from your deck, maybe next year with the Lake being back up to the normal level that might be possible. Oh, I forgot to mention your off the highway parking for my truck and boat trailer was PERFECT.

Looks like next year the same approximate time but maybe 2 weeks. Your plants got plenty of water while we were there also.

With regards,

Bob K

Not what we expected for the cost

  • 2 of 5

this was the second half of a week to the entire yosemite/sequioa national park area when we arrived there was no one there and we had to get the keys from a lock box from the other end of the lake. when we entered the house it was close to 85-90 degrees inside and the swamp cooler didn't work,it took a call to the property management and a whole day to get it working when the manager showed up we informed her that the entire patio area especially the grill were not cleaned at all and nobody ever came back to clean it so we did it so we could use the grill. this house is decorated from the seventies and needs a good update.the lower bathroom is shared with the washer and dryer and the shower looks like a dungeon. i would not rent this house again and it was my sister who paided for it. the beds were not made and we didn't even get fitted sheets for them even though they charged her over a hundred dollars for a linen fee. there are much better homes around this lake to rent

Owner's Response: We are sorry your experience was not in keeping with your expectations. We appreciate your time providing feedback so that we can address your concerns and provide an improved experience for our future guests. We do apologize for the swamp cooler not being prepared for summer. The sudden warm weather closely following a cold spell was a surprise but we should have been prepared for it! The ceiling fans do cool down the house quickly and we trust these helped. High wind events bringing patio debris are beyond our control but, even though yours was a last minute reservation, the BBQ should have been clean and we will speak to the management company concerning this. The shower lighting is being addressed as well, as we agree - it is not adequate. It is standard procedure for a rental homes of this type, to check in and obtain the keys from the management company, which should have been explained to you during the rental process. The lock box key is provided for the convenience of guests arriving after hours. Guests are encouraged to bring their own linens but a linen service is provided for guests that choose to use it. A common practice we prefer is the beds being left unmade, to insure our guests their linens are always fresh and clean. As this home is one of the first homes in the area, we have elected to keep the general look and feel in our renovation of the original property, while still providing the modern amenities we all have become accustomed to. The website accurately describes the look of the home including the shared laundry & bath. We hope folks enjoy the mountain cabin feel in conjunction with the great lake view and convenient location, as we do. Again, thank you for your time. We value and welcome our guests feedback.

An Amazing Memorial Day Weekend

  • 5 of 5

I recently got the great opportunity to take a trip to Bass Lake. I have been going to the lake itself since I was a little kid, but got the opportunity to stay at this house, on my last trip. The whole stay was absolutely incredible. Sunshine and warm water was just the perfect remedy for a much needed vacation. Fishing, hiking, biking, swimming, tubing and boating were just a few of the activities we did. The best part was 10 of my friends and I ended up going and there was plenty of room for everyone! The place was fully furnished with great amenities and bathrooms. We went on a short drive across the lake and rented a boat for the Memorial day weekend and it was perfect. The house even had a boat slip which ensured a 2-3 minute walk, from the house was all that was necessary to hopping on the boat and floating around the lake for the day. The local restaurants and grocery stores are all great too. On the last day, we took the time to head into Yosemite (only :45 minutes away, to the valley) and this was a great ending. Many from my group had never seen the majestic mountains and valleys and were blown away by the sheer beauty. So much to do, so little time. I would highly recommend this for a weekend getaway but there is so much to do, I feel a whole week would have been ideal. Great place, I can't wait to go back!

Winter Wonderland

  • 5 of 5

I usually stay here in the Spring and Summer and always have a great time, but I thought I would see what it's like in the Winter, for a change. It was well beyond what I expected, we had 4 to 6 inches of snow at the house and were able to snowshoe close by, cross country ski at Badger Pass, and even do some mountain biking in the snow. One of the best trips I've had in a while!

The house is very comfortable and accommodating, I love the close proximity to the lake and hiking and biking trails!! There's so many fun things to do, I can't wait to get back up there!

I really like the custom gate at the entrance to the deck, very cool!

Owner's Response: The winter is a great time to go, I agree. Usually a lighter dusting at our elevation, but many near by areas for a number of snow activity... try a snow mobile next time or outdoor ice skating... P.S. Our little gate serves its purpose for the children :)

Beautiful family mountain & lake getaway

  • 5 of 5

Lots of room. Good for one family or more than a few families together. Hiking & lake fun right from the front or back doors. Quaint town near by for shopping & atmosphere. Enjoyed a short drive to Yosemite. Boating on the lake with a private slip for our boat. Used this house in winter also for a beautiful snow vacation. Easy hiking still & beautiful view. Large family room with windows over looking the lake for fun family game time or relaxing.
