Completely remodeled B&B within 9 miles of Talen Energy & 13 of Rickett’s Glen

Stay comfortably in Shickshinny at a Bed & Breakfast. Originally a General Store built in the early 1800s. Later became a Teen House for the youth group of Bloomingdale Bible Church. The house sits on Bloomingdale Corners just outside of Sweet Valley and Shickshinny Lake. Just a short distance from Talen Energy/Susquehanna Nuclear & Rickett’s Glen State Park with 22 named waterfalls. There are many covered bridges throughout the area and across Pennsylvania. Several provide picnic tables making them a great stop for a picnic lunch. We can supply a picnic basket for your adventure and with enough notice you can order that basket to be packed.
We have two rooms available to book. Justin’s Bunk with a Jack & Jill private bath having a lock off but can be shared with Loie’s Suite if desired. An additional shared bath is available for Loie’s Suite and Laura’s room (not available to book). Each room has its own TV. Starlink is the wireless internet available. The rooms are located on the second floor with its own back entrance by the parking area. There is a gathering room where you can sit and relax, read a book, play a game, work on a puzzle or just visit. This is where the buffet, coffee bar and dinning is also located. A step down takes you to a kitchenette just off this shared space and has a full sized refrigerator, sink, counter space and cupboards. A microwave, air fryer, and mini crockpot is available for making simple recipes for lunch or dinner. The drawers and cabinets are filled with dishes and utensils. A step up will take you to the laundry room where you will find a washer/dryer, ironing board/ iron. Additional bedding is located on the built in shelves. Easy fix yourself items and grab and go breakfast is available during the week. Saturday and Sunday enjoy a cooked breakfast.
At the entrance you will find a patio area with seating during the seasons that permit. A firepit area is currently unavailable for upgrade. Future plans for more outdoor seating and amenities.

Laura’s room is not listed so it remains available to help someone in need. Wishing to help others inspired the name Bramble House. As we all walk through difficult moments in life we develop scars, bruises, and wounds. When walking through Brambles you can scraps and scars from thorny branches. Through care and needs met those brambles will blossom with sweet flowers. Having Faith and trusting the Lord will bring forth fruit. Wishing you a Berry Blessed vacation wherever you stay.
