Beautiful home with very accommodating hosts. Everything we could possibly need was provided. Entertainment, beautiful spacious kitchen with top notch appliances, comfortable beds, jacuzzi and more. Highly recommend!!!
The roads are very much what the hosts warn about, so be ready with four wheel drive in weather seasons. We have a 15 passenger van and the turn in to the driveway was a little sketchy and the angle of slop made everyone a bit nervous. This house is fantastic! Very privet setting and the amenities are great. We especially enjoyed the pool table, the neighborhood pool and trout pond, and the access to big bald which is an easy hike with great views after a short drive up the mountain. We were very comfortable at this property with six kids. Lots of room and plenty of bathrooms! This is a gated community so it's super safe. There are deer everywhere and we heard there are bears but we didn't see any at Wolf Laurel, although we did along the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is a great central base for day trips to Biltmore mansion (definitely recommend, even for younger kids 7-10yrs), state and national parks, waterfalls. the Cherokee Nation museum and the Blue Ridge Parkway. That's among many other options; the area is gorgeous and full of history. When we plan another trip to the Smoky Mountains this will be home base again!
We enjoyed our stay overall and found the home to be comfortable and well-maintained. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen and appliances were well-equipped, and we appreciated being able to bring our dogs along—something that is becoming increasingly difficult to find with many rental properties. We didn’t spend much time using all of the community amenities, although we did enjoy a couple of games of billiards, foosball, and both of those tables seemed brand new. We stepped out onto the upstairs deck a few times, and breathed in the nice fresh air. The location worked well for us, with Asheville being an easy drive for dinner and activities. If you’re not familiar with mountain driving, just be prepared for the elevation changes and winding roads, and allow a little extra patience getting up and down the mountain. A couple of minor observations: the air inside the home felt a bit musty at times, and a few of the washcloths had a slight mildew odor. We also noticed that the master bathroom door didn’t fully close. None of these items significantly impacted our stay, but they may be helpful for future guests and the property owner.Overall, this is a nice property that appears to be well cared for, and we appreciated the opportunity to stay here.
