Refused to advise the names of guests or expected arrival time And left extremely odd sarcastic responses in the inbox when finally advised after arrival. I got another sarcastic remark out of the blue upon check-out via inbox.
We chose this home because it was close to the main gate of Ft Sill. We arrived on a Tuesday for a Friday graduation. We were pleasantly surprised at house close it was to the main gate. It is also just around the corner from Walmart and several other stores and eating places.
The house has 2 main bedrooms and a rom converted into a bedroom. Each room was very spacious. There is 1 bathroom, a nice sized living room and kitchen. The washer and dryer was a great added bonus. Overall we were very pleased with the stay.
Pros:
•Ample room for a family and visitors
•well stocked linens and towels. I love this as I have been to many homes that had 4 towels for the whole house. She had lots of towels for all of us
•fully stocked closet with an iron, blow dryer, shampoos and soaps and lots of other stuff just in case you forget to bring them
•Decor was awesome. We loved to look through the many books and learn about the history of the area.
Cons:
•we wish there were 2 couches in the living room for lounging. The small pullout loveseat isn’t sufficient for the family plus our Soldier. There are 3 chairs in the living room to sit on but it would be better to have a full sized couch and just 1 chair.
•the TV didn’t work for the first couple of days. The owner was amazing and brought batteries over immediately. It turned out to be that only 1 HDMI port on the TV worked. Finally got it figured out but by that time we were too busy.
•the side outside light does not work. The owner plans to get it fixed but it wasn’t at the time
Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Thanks for the review. I need to clarify the tv worked, the remote control batteries did not. Also, the 1 HDMI port was checked and found working. Not sure what happened...
Location is on a VERY BUSY road in rather sketchy neighborhood. Felt like cars/trucks were driving in 1 ear & out the other. Dimly lit interior - bought light bulbs to brighten my visit. Lights were out in kitchen altogether. Naked bulb extended from ceiling in 1 room. No good exterior lights at door entry. Relies on solar light at door but in shade all day so doesn't recharge. Fridge clean, oven clean, but stove burners not level making cooking a challenge, no ventilation and window blinds next to stove greasy. BUT WORST WAS leftover food from prior tenants filled cabinets. Had to literally clean out cabinets(scrub insides) so I could put my food in. Fake Plants over cabinets dusty. Washed all dishes & pots before using them, no actual glass-glasses, went & bought 2 to use, also bought serving dishes & new utensils to use. Questioned myself whether being over fussy, so the cork screw has to be okay, right-nope, when I grabbed the wings to pull down they were sticky, sticky to touch. No fresh soaps in bathroom. Shampoos again tenant leftovers. Plastic shower curtain liner not new. Towels were clean. BUT Expect guests to wash & put towels away before leaving!!! No lights at all in laundry. Detached wood steps out back door treacherous. Host feigned knowing nothing about TV, b/c quote, doesn't watch TV. TV is subscription only. If you don't have Hulu or other subscription, no real TV. No real remote. WiFi easily accessible. Tastefully decorated but overall place is falling way short. Host said has 3 homes, daughter has 3. If they are making this a business, they need to up their game. Can't change location but can greatly improve on gracious hospitality. Shower curtain liners are $1 at the Dollar Store. Recycle shampoo conditioner in their own small bottles-heck put your own stamp/label on them. Clean out the cabinets fully after each guest, dust the fake greenery over the cabinets. Get a new stove and clean the blinds next to it. If you do that each and every time, your guests are able to relax. I was there b/c son graduating from BCT so I decided not to spend my limited time angry & upset. I made it work but only b/c I cleaned and bought the items necessary to make us comfortable.

In YEARS of renting this house, no one has ever said any of these things- from asking, demanding the code to get in a week prior, to taking it upon yourself to throw away my NEW child dish set, spices just purchased and many other things I did not notice from the cabinets - you would have been charged for them all. Asking if the house was shared? Sorry, something extemely "wrong" with this person. The audacity to make up things about my daughter never talked to, met, or has nothing to do with my business, was par for the course. Get help.
We had a good experience at this property. There are a lot of rules but they generally rules that make sense. As others have pointed out, make sure you get up early enough to wash and dry the towels properly. We actually bought towels at Walmart for cheap after the 1st day so we didn't have to mess with them.
Kim was communicative and accomodating especially with our checkout process. She was quick to respond and was a great owner to work with.
The only negative is that we had the alarm set to "stay" and I gently pushed - didn't slam - the bedroom door and it set off the alarm. We stayed the rest of the time with the alarm off unless we left the house.
Would stay again if I'm ever in the area.
Glad we selected this property not only was it close to the base, there was enough space for our family and our soldier had enough room to take a nap in a big bed before returning to his barracks. A regular hotel room would not afford this luxury!
Cutely decorated house, convenient location, clean comfy bed
House was cutely decorated, beds very comfortable, towels clean, convenient location, excellent WIFI strength, great AC.
A couple of nearby parks (one a block away), one about a mile way with lots of cute prairie dogs. Close to the Mountains for day hikes. Close enough to go to Duncan for the Brewery.
Much nicer than expected based on price point.
Note you need to wash/dry the towels before leaving - and that can take a while. (we didn't plan on having to stay so long waiting for them to be done).
We were in town for our sons Boot Camp Graduation. This property was close to Ft Sill and fit all our needs. This was our 1st time booking a Vrbo & it did not disappoint!!
My family and I stayed here for my son’s graduation from boot camp. It was the perfect place to hang out with our soldier and have some family time. The place was clean and close to many stores and restaurants. Kim, the host, was very helpful and prompt in responding to our questions. We would stay again. My only suggestion is a new grill.
The cowboy house was as advertised. True to its name the decorations were adorable. The location was close to everything including fort sill. Our host was very accommodating and available. Would book again.
This house was perfect for us. Our soldier was graduating Fort Sill and we needed not only a place to sleep, but also a place for the family to gather and celebrate. It is only 10 minutes or less from everything like restaurants, shopping, and relaxation. The decor is a little much as it leaves little room to actually put out personal belongings, but the kitchen was spacious and beds comfortable. I highly recommend this place as a great choice to stay at whether you only plan for 1 night or 10.
The location of this property was excellent. We were close to stores and to Fort Sill Army base which made traveling easy. The cleanliness and spaciousness of the property was great for the people we had staying.
It was a very good place to stay. We got everything we needed as far as necessities and access to the kitchen. It was in a very good location and we got to and from the base with no worries. The only things I think should be upgraded is the beds. It felt like it was going to break when you get into the bed and it made a lot of noises. The bedding and pillows was dusty and not comfortable(felt too used). Also, it seemed the place was not in use for a while which made everything dusty. Also, the liner for the shower was not new. But all in all, it was a very good place for us. A lot of room and the kitchen was a must for us so we enjoyed that a lot. I would still want to come back for another stay. Kimberly responded quickly and got all my questions answered in a timely manner. I would recommend this place and give it a thumbs up!!! It was great!!!:)))

I am glad you liked the home and "I would recommend this place and give it a thumbs up!!! It was great!!!:)))" I am always booked each week, typically a month or two ahead for years. No one has ever said that about the bed, hmm, I will have to look into it. The good part about having hardwood floors is how, unlike carpet, you would see any tiny dust particle that accumulate during your stay and it is more sterile than carpet. It is always freshly dust mopped with shine and orange scent before each and every guest upon entry.

BCT/AIT/Sill Family Book it now!! 6 minutes to the VCC/gate=more time! This is the place to be!
This house is perfect for anyone wanting visit Lawton or with business on base. The home is minutes to anything and everything you need/want. Walgreens is within walking distance. Fort Sill is a right turn and a few minutes up the street meaning those visitors passes have little wasted time in a car!! It also makes getting them back for formation a snap!
The house is well appointed; the photos do not do it justice and they are beautiful!!
The beds were very comfortable, the rooms spacious, linens were cozy. Kitchen was well stocked and was able to accommodate our party of 6 easily! If you’re like me and like a hot shower at the end of the day this place is a gem! Good water pressure and hot water that lasted through 3 showers before I got to mine! Kim has also found the softest towels known to man! (She has thought of everything really!)
The back yard is huge! Beautiful! Big fat squirrels entertained us with our coffee! There is a grill and picnic table as well if you wanted to hang out under the stars for a late night.
We loved our time there and the time with our soldier! He loved it as well! “I don’t want to do anything, but go back to the house(day 2)” To us his approval is everything!
There is a full size washer and dryer which is excellent! Even an iron and ironing board! There is nothing Kim hasn’t considered! This place has you covered if you forgot a hair dryer or bottle of shampoo. We wanted for nothing! She even had a cozy blanket in each closet if you needed it and hangers as well which came in so handy!
I could go on and on!
She was also so kind to us and to me with my barrage of questions. She was even able to move maintains to let us in early as we arrived ahead of schedule from a 14 hour haul from KY.
That reminds me!! Entry was super simple and home was very secure! Loved that!
Book it. Just do it right now. You will not regret it.
We got so much more for our money staying here than any of the other options we considered. I’m a frequent traveler and I stay all over the country. I have paid 500.00 before for a nights stay in some places to get the level of comfort and amenities afforded me at this place!
Also important for BCT/AIT families! If you are not aware- we were told soldiers cannot stay in hotels or even go in casinos, this left a lot scrambling to find somewhere to be last minute-so a house is a way to have time with them without any risk of conflict with command. :)

Great place in the center of everything
This is a super cute cottage house in the middle of everything in Lawton. Walmart is one block away and there are lots of restaurants nearby. The owner is quick to respond to any needs. There are plenty of clean towels and even toiletries if you run out of yours. AC works well, which is great when it’s 101 degrees in Oklahoma!
