You'll be sitting on top of the world at this spacious 2-bedroom, 2-bath Penthouse with an open living room and fully-equipped kitchen.

The jaw-dropping 270-degree view includes Diamond Head, a sweeping ocean view, the Ala Wai Canal, the Ala Wai golf course, Ft DeRussy Park, the beautiful Koolau Mountain range, and both sunrises and sunsets!

This is a legal vacation rental property managed by a licensed real estate broker with over 20 years of experience with Hawaii vacation rentals. You won't have to worry if your rental will be there when you arrive.

The penthouse is excellent for families and friends; less expensive than a hotel, it features a full kitchen, and at over 1,000 square feet (large by Waikiki standards), the penthouse comfortably accommodates 6. The ocean-side primary bedroom has a king bed, the Diamond Head-side primary bedroom has two full beds, and the living room has a new high-quality Queen sofa bed. In addition, we have a crib available at no charge. The bedrooms, living/dining room and kitchen all have spectacular views. Every Friday night, you can watch the fireworks launched from the nearby Hilton Hawaiian Village, and on special occasions, you'll see a bigger show on Waikiki Beach.

You'll have a fully equipped kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, stove, microwave, blender, coffee pot and grinder, pots and pans, silverware and just about anything else you need. To top it off, the kitchen has a panoramic ocean view!

One bathroom features a Japanese-style deep bathtub (furo) with a shower. The second bathroom has a walk-in shower. You'll also have your own washer and dryer in the penthouse.
A supply cabinet contains beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels and assorted beach items.

You'll enjoy the huge recreation deck featuring a large swimming pool, hot tub, barbecue grills, picnic tables and lounge chairs. There are no resort fees to use these facilities. Also on site is a new fitness center, which is almost free: it only costs $5 for your entire stay (not per day).

There is a large flat-screen TV with cable service and a Roku device. The free high-speed WIFI is your private network, not shared with other units, and is powerful enough for the whole family to share their vacation experience.

The Hawaii Convention Center is within walking distance, as are the Hilton Hawaiian Village and other venues where conventions are held. If you need to conduct business while in Waikiki, there is a desk in one of the bedrooms and a nook in the dining area.

The Hawaiian Monarch is a mixture of hotel-owned and privately owned units. Our penthouse is privately owned, managed, and maintained. which means we can offer more personalized service and a higher standard of care. There are only three other penthouses on the same floor. Four elevators provide access.

Parking is available in the on-site parking garage. The garage is privately owned and the rate at the time of this writing is $45/day with full in and out privileges. Parking is not included in the rent, as most of our guests do not rent a car. The penthouse has a Walk Score of 92 (out of 100). Some guests rent a car for a day of exploring from one of the nearby car rental companies. Turo is available for car rentals, too.

The Hawaii Convention Center is within walking distance, as are the Hilton Hawaiian Village and other venues where conventions are held. If you need to conduct business while in Waikiki, there is a desk in one of the bedrooms and a nook in the dining area.

Within walking distance are many restaurants and shopping, including Ala Moana Shopping Center, resorts, grocery and convenience stores, music venues, sports bar, post office, green parks, Waikiki Beach Walk, and of course, Waikiki Beach itself!

Waikiki and the surrounding area have a gazillion things to do. Of course, there is the world's most famous beach. Many water sports are available, including surfing, paddleboarding, boogieboarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, parasailing, and more. There is shopping for everything from souvenir trinkets to high-end luxury stores and everything in between.

Hear world-class music at many resorts, such as Blue Note Jazz Club, the Waikiki Shell, the Blaisdell Arena, and local musicians playing rock, jazz, and, of course, the soothing sound of Hawaiian music.

Honolulu has an extensive public bus system, and a bus stop is located across the street from the penthouse. Buses reach many areas over the island, including major destinations such as Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, Chinatown, Honolulu Airport, Honolulu Zoo, The Aquarium and others.

In addition to all these visitor attractions, there is another reason to visit Hawaii: the rich Hawaiian culture. Aloha is a real thing, not just a buzzword. You'll know it when you experience it. We encourage you to learn about the culture and history through the many museums and to personally connect with the Hawaiian people.

Our local weatherperson likes to say we have 'the best weather on the planet.' Is it cold where you are? Come to Waikiki and warm up! Are you suffering from unbearable heat and humidity? Come to Waikiki and cool off! Our average daily temperature is in the low to mid-80s F (27 C) all year.

A perfect place to stay for our family of 4! Great location that's just outside of the craziness of Waikiki. A well-stocked kitchen, as well as a cabinet full of beach items to use. But the star of the show is the view that wraps around the corner, so you can see the canal and the ocean at the same time. We would definitely stay here again.

Its all about the view and location

Property is located near Waikiki and the view is awesome! The property manager (Steve) was very responsive. Beach stuff was an unanticipated plus. Only issue our group had was limited comfortable furniture in TV area.

Breathe taking views

The Sisters enjoyed our stay on Honolulu and the people at the Hawaiian Monarch were very courteous, from the security personnel, to the individual Owner Steve. Beds were comfortable, we cooked several meals in their fully equipped kitchen and watched movies with easy Roku devices. The views were spectacular and it was very quiet. The pool and jacuzzi needed to be cleaned on the day we used them and this area is shared with the Monarch's other unit owners. Security is good and we always felt safe. It was a wonderful time. Parking is terrible, sometimes it take 20-30 minutes wait time to get a parking spot. Clearance is 6ft and 2 inches, so if you have bigger vehicles, it is hard. Other thing is elevators, it is worst, it takes 5 minutes sometimes.

The views from this condo can not be beat!

This condo is perfect. It is exactly as advertised. It is clean and stocked with everything you will need. It is very spacious. The views are absolutely breathtaking! You can see the ocean, Diamond Head, the canal and much more from any window in the condo. It is about a 20 minute walk to the beach. There are numerous stores and restaurants within walking distance of the condo as well. The pool and hot tubs are wonderful. There are plenty of lounge chairs and an outdoor cooking area! Steve is an amazing host and answered all of the questions that I had. He also checked in with us during our stay to make sure we were ok and didn’t need anything. We had a small issue with a thermostat and he had it fixed within 20 minutes. We loved everything about the condo and would definitely stay here again! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Beautiful location and views

This is a fabulous condo with ridiculously beautiful views of city, mountain, and ocean. Offers a great set up to enjoy the condo (wifi, comfy couch and beds, and great dining room table) or head off to the beach (with full supplies, including a cooler, beach tent, towels, and umbrellas). Fully stocked kitchen means you can bring home poke, leftovers, or make full advantage of the nearby grocery stores. The building is outdated and the unit itself could use a bathroom refresh, but everything was clean and well taken care of. The air-con works wonders and is adjustable per room (though it is loud, but that's expected in an old Honolulu building). Slight confusion with the owner not receiving messages sent through vrbo or direct text message, but nothing that was significant or that impacted our stay. Would definitely stay again. Pro-Tip: Avoid grouchy parking attendant and confusing, expensive parking situation by using the first floor car rental and return each evening.

Not as expected

It has a very strong musty smell. We stayed Saturday night, and Monday night of our stay with my husband and 4 children. Every time we were in the condo, it had the strong musty smell. My two children who are severely allergic to mold and have asthma, immediately showed signs of being exposed. Sunday we headed to Ko'Olina. At our stay in Ko'Olina, we all felt better and were breathing well. After being back Monday night, we decided we were leaving. There was nothing that the owner could do to make us stay, because the health of my children was highly at risk. Must is a 90% indication of mold. We moved to a new location Tuesday morning. The ramifications had already taken a toll on my oldest who spiked a high fever that evening. We are certain it was his exposure to mold in the condo. Yes you can get that sick from an allergic reaction. We closed up the condo and I emailed the owner that we had vacated. A few emails went back and forth. He told me I should have told him that my children had asthma before traveling. What?? He also said he has had complaints of the musty smell and changed the carpets a year ago and bought an air quality machine that usually runs in the condo, but was out for maintenance. If you change the carpets and the musty smell is still there, then you are now covering up the smell trying to use an air quality machine. Again, there was nothing at all that the owner would be able to do to make us stay. We took my soon to a doctor in Waikiki and explained his condition. The very first thing they asked, "Did you leave the condo yet?" After our last email, the owner told me that my son didn't get sick because of the air quality in the condo. He's not a doctor, so that was an unwise statement. If a person isn't allergic to mold, it takes months before it poses a health issue. For someone who is allergic to mold, it is immediate! I never asked for anything back. The owner did give us back a little refund on his own which was our additional person rate, to which I thanked him. I encouraged him to get his condo tested for mold. Our stay was for Sept 28th- Oct 5th. I am now writing this, because I need to let others know about the air quality and perhaps help them not get ill while they stay here. Also, this is not in a great area of Waikiki, which I had no clue that existed. The building its self is extremely run down, the restaurant at the time hasn't had food in over 3 months, and the parking is actually $30 a day not $25.

amazing view, clean/updated kitchen but rest of condo very dated. furniture in living room was broken down/uncomfortable. showers not clean, door didn't close all the way. building and pool were great. Maleko's pastries on ground level fantastic! lots of stores and restaurants within walking distance.

Perfect Base for exploring Oahu

Waikiki vacation

My family of four had a wonderful stay. Steve was a fabulous host. This was our first trip to Oahu, and Steve was really great with his communication and sharing information. We loved the location and the view from the penthouse is amazing, as advertised. The PH is close to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. We did not rent a car as you can Uber or Lyft anywhere rather quickly. Waikiki is expensive, we reduced our expenses by preparing some meals in the penthouse and enjoying the million dollar view. You can walk to Walmart and Foodland for groceries and supplies. There is also a great food truck court across the street. My adult kids, who are foodies, loved the food trucks. And, the bakery in the complex, Maleko, is a gem. Save room in your suitcase for pineapple coconut jam and chocolate, coconut, peanut butter which can all be purchased at Maleko. If you want high end food and shopping, the PH is 3 to 4 blocks from glitz and glamour.

We had a wonderful two weeks with our adult stepdaughter—plenty of room for the three of us, gorgeous views, lots of Waikiki activities and nearby beach. All the processes and many entertainment opportunities were very clearly laid out. Highly recommended.
