Casa Pelicano is a gorgeous beach home within the semi gated community of Palm Beach Estates, Playa Grande, Costa Rica. We are situated just steps away from one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. At an additional fee Casita Pelicano can be added (sleeps 2 studio apartment) Please note that the main house sleeps 6 and this is the rate that you will be quoted for. Privately owned, owner-managed and owner maintained this exclusive 3 bedrooms 2 bath pool home is a magical find. The Home is literally 120 steps from the front gate to the beach access road where you can stroll, surf, or bike ride along the 3 km long horseshoe surfing bay of Playa Grande.

As owners, we are fortunate to have been able to personally create and design Casa Pelicano using our own artwork and craftsman skills making use of the beautiful indigenous woods, driftwood, shells, canvasses, and all natures findings to complement and complete our home.
The Indoor Space:

A Tropical Beachside home within a stone’s throw of the best surf and sunsets in Costa Rica focused on open plan living spaces. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms include Master Bedroom ensuite with King size bed that opens onto the poolside patio through its own private double glass doorway, the second bedroom with Queen bed also opening up onto the poolside patio through glass private glass doorway with adjacent separate bathroom, and the third bedroom with double bed.
All linens are provided which include high-end bed linen, bath towels, and beach towels. Housekeeping is available on request. A private laundry including washer and dryer extends off the kitchen for days when you prefer to do extra cleaning of your own.
The kitchen includes a large counter top gas stove and oven which is simply the best to cook on. It is built into a kitchen island extending into a long bar counter which is perfect for having the family and friends sit around whilst designing fabulous drinks and smoothies using the blender or cooking fresh fish which we can organize delivered to your front door.
To add the kitchen is well equipped with top end cookware, microwave, dishwasher, high-end coffee machine, extra large fridge freezer and exceptionally large countertop spaces ideal for entertaining or those that love to cook. Foodies always comment on how they love the kitchen!
The living room has a sociable open setting that is incorporated so that during meal preparation or cocktail hour everyone can enjoy each others company whilst taking in the outdoor view. A flat-screen TV DVD player with Cable TV Network, board games, etc will keep you entertained when you need a reprieve from the outdoors.
High-Speed WIFI throughout. Even good enough for Netflix!
The Outdoor Space:
The private garden oasis is the showcase of the home boasting the swimming pool draped with lush flora and fauna that words cannot describe. The fruit trees of coconut, guava, banana, papaya, line the property enticing our treasured visits from howler monkeys, squirrels, hummingbirds, lizards, birds of prey, possum, anteaters, wild green parrots almost daily.
The large spacious undercover patio wraps around the whole front of the casa overlooking the private pool. A great resting zone, entertaining, or social hour retreat.
Complimenting the outdoor living we have a gas BBQ with a convenient utility table for setting out your prepped food as you cook, a large handmade chunky dining table with cozy reading and reflection corner scattered with bright throw pillows. Pool loungers skirt the pool edges with comfy cushions allowing for hours of lazing, dipping in and out of the pool. Rocking chairs on the front porch to watch the world go by - why not? People love them. Morning coffee in a rocking chair works for everyone young and old!
We provide beach chairs, two beach cruiser bicycles, two smaller size surfboards, and 2 boogie boards. If you need to rent more surfboards or would like surf lessons we can arrange it all for you. Additionally, for any tours and activities, shuttle transfers, car rentals, etc we have people on the ground we have worked with for years and would prefer if you make use of our contacts so we always know you are in good hands.

The Surroundings and Location
The house is located in the community Palm Beach Estates which consists of approximately 200 homes. We are 1 hours drive from Liberia International Airport and 35 minutes drive or quick ferry ride from Tamarindo.
We have 4 local restaurants all of which have their own bars. We have a local mini-supermarket, fresh fruit and veggie truck that passes by, the local fish vendor delivers upon request, and local community member is a German pastry chef husband and wife team that make baked goods to order delivered to your door.
We are a 15 - minute walk South to the estuary edge that separates us from Tamarindo town. The estuary ferry boats operate on demand from sunset to sunrise and will transfer you for a dollar+ - per person for a quick 5 - minute ride to get across to Tamarindo. Tamarindo has plenty more to see for those that like tourist activities but you will find a day or two at most will more than certainly be enough and you’ll be thankful you are able to return to your quiet haven of Palm Beach.
Playa Grande town is 2 miles drive down a dirt road or 20 minutes beach walk North from Palm Beach Main Entrance. Playa Grande offers a good selection of restaurants, tennis /pickle ball courts social activities etc
As a community, we have our own privately contracted security team that works onsite at the gated entrance and also patrolling the streets from sunset to sunrise daily. The security team is non-invasive but present and has proven to be a great compliment to the neighborhood security watch system already in place. All the homeowners in the community are well connected and are super helpful when needed.
We also have a beachside clinic with doctors on call for those that are concerned about traveling with medical conditions or otherwise.
As owners we live in the properties neighboring casita so are available to assist in emergencies and otherwise check in with our guests every day or so by text message so as not to invade your privacy.
We have made countless friends with guests who have stayed with us and have many repeat clients

Please note the following - This home has a lot of outdoor spaces (decks, patio, lawn, swimming pool) situated in a natural setting where you may see or come into contact with creatures such as birds, eagles, squirrels, spiders, crabs, flies, bees, ants spiders scorpions raccoons , etc. If you or any of your guests are uncomfortable with natural creatures, this home is not the right choice for you.
