Meeks Bay Resort is right below this neighborhood, has a boat launching ramps to allow for some great days out on the lake in the warm months. Meeks Bay has a beautiful white sand beach that is gorgeous with crystal clear water for swimming! There is a lodge, small store and snack bar and for lunch.

In any case...West Shore is the BEST shore!

We know that once you stay at this special place we love, you will want to come back!

About Linda and Robert Tolin

I grew up in Los Gatos then went to UCSD, then UCSB and followed this by going to graduate school at Cal Poly and then stayed in SLO. I met my husband at masters swimming at the local swim center and the rest is history. My dad built a cabin and our family was fortunate enough to vacation there when it wasn't being rented. I grew up going to Tahoe in the summer and winter and have loved vacationing there ever since. I now like to share that same love for Tahoe with my husband and two kids. I think Lake Tahoe has a very unique calming and serene appeal that will continue to entice our family and many more for generations to come and enjoy it's natural beauty!

Linda and Robert Tolin purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Linda and Robert Tolin chose Tahoma

This property is in the same area as the family cabin that I grew up vacationing at, so the location has a special place in the my heart. We were drawn to the place because it backs up to the forest and has a unique wood and rustic style on the inside with great views. Meeks Bay is my favorite beach to go to during the summer and luckily this cabin was a short 8-10 minute to the beautiful white sand beach!

What makes this cabin unique

Beautiful Meeks Bay Resort and beach is just a short walk (10 mins) or drive and the stunningly famous Emerald Bay is just 15 minutes away. Homewood Mountain Resort is just 4 miles away. It's feels like you are really getting away from it all but you can still dine at some great spots just a short drive away. When you visit this cabin, you will really feel like you have totally relaxed in the high mountain scenery and fresh pine air. The unique structure provides a real feeling of being in the mountains with the beautiful beam design upstairs.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Linda was a fantastic host-always very quick to reply to any emails, answered all questions and sent lots of helpful information with directions prior to the trip. Could not have been more helpful or pleasant to deal with.

The cabin was gorgeous as pictured. Views from the deck were stunning and the location quiet and peaceful but only a short drive to all the major south shore sights - Emerald Bay, DL Bliss etc..

Would love to stay there again.

Gorgeous setting

  • 5 of 5

The views from the panoramic windows are absolutely stunning. Although there were neighboring homes, all that we saw was a gorgeous lake view. The property is walking distance to Desolation Wilderness hiking trails. Our group consisted of my husband and I, in our fifties, and our college aged son and his friends. The two-level set-up served us really well. The master bedroom is the only bedroom upstairs. All the other beds are downstairs. We were able to stay on separate floors and keep our separate hours. I was surprised that the kitchen was upstairs, but that worked to our advantage, too. We get up early in the morning and had access to the kitchen to make coffee or a light breakfast without waking the young adults who like to sleep in. The kitchen was very well stocked - dinnerware for 8, adequate pots and pans, extra details like a cheese grater and a blender, and plenty of storage containers for leftovers. Counter space is limited; it's best with one person working at a time. The owners were exceptionally kind. The young adults did not bring chains for their vehicle and were surprised to find, once in Tahoe, that they couldn't purchase chains; none would fit on their car's tires. It looked like they might get snowed in. The owners brainstormed with us and helped us to resolve the issue with kindness—and no judgment. All in all, a lovely place. We look forward to going back.

Truly a beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at this cabin. There were plenty of towels, and there were many accommodations one would find in a hotel setting. There was plenty of wood for starting fires, we bought wood before we got there, so we just added to the stock. Really easy to get to, beds were comfortable, and the views from the upper deck were amazing!

Owner's Response: We are really happy to hear you and your group enjoyed the lake views, location and spaciousness of the rooms. Our site explains we have two wood burning stoves and it's important to read the instructions we provide for starting them before arrival. (Also there is a video we share in them with guests if you aren't familiar with using them.) We are glad everything worked well once your group got the fires going and we also have electric heat in all rooms that is easy to turn on before the wood stoves are going. *Note we ask our guests to bring fire starter sticks and/or lighter fluid which helps a lot for starting up the fire and we provide the wood and kindling. Luckily we were easy to reach to answer your questions and it all worked out! Thanks again and glad to hear you would like to return! Linda and Robert

Wonderful stay over Thanksgiving. Well equipped kitchen for cooking with beautiful view of the lake.

  • 5 of 5

Our family (6 adults a 4 year old and a one year old) met here over Thanksgiving and enjoyed plenty of room to sleep comfortably and cook 'the feast'. Everything was wonderful. Our 4 year old played pool with Opa and our one year old navigated the stairs safely up and down with supervision. The big table was our gathering space for dinner and the 1000 piece puzzle completed by all. I was up every morning to witness magnificent sunrises and we all enjoyed the deck in the evening with wine. We hiked together Eagles Nest which became our photo opt for our Holiday card. All was terrific in Tahoe! Thank you!
