Our cabin's unique round design creates an amazing wood structure with cupola windows at the top for lots of light. All natural beams are visible up to the ceiling!

Downstairs there is a great large game room with a pool table and TV/DVD that is great for kids or teens to hang out. There are also lots of windows with lake views on this level as well. Each bedroom backs up to the forest for a quiet night's rest.

Meeks Bay Resort and Marina, right below this neighborhood, has a boat launching ramps to allow for some great days out on the lake in the warm months. Meeks Bay has a beautiful white sand beach that is gorgeous with crystal clear water for swimming! There is a lodge, small store and snack bar and they have a marina but we are uncertain if water levels etc.. will allow it the Marina operation for summer of 2017 - you can call the resort.

In any case...West Shore is the BEST shore!

We know that once you stay at this special place we love, you will want to come back!

About Linda and Robert Tolin

I grew up in Los Gatos then went to UCSD, then UCSB and followed this by going to graduate school at Cal Poly and then stayed in SLO. I met my husband at masters swimming at the local swim center and the rest is history. My dad built a cabin and our family was fortunate enough to vacation there when it wasn't being rented. I grew up going to Tahoe in the summer and winter and have loved vacationing there ever since. I now like to share that same love for Tahoe with my husband and two kids. I think Lake Tahoe has a very unique calming and serene appeal that will continue to entice our family and many more for generations to come and enjoy it's natural beauty!

Linda and Robert Tolin purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Linda and Robert Tolin chose Lake Tahoe West Shore CA

This property is in the same area as the family cabin that I grew up vacationing at, so the location has a special place in the my heart. We were drawn to the place because it backs up to the forest and has a unique wood and rustic style on the inside with great views. Meeks Bay is my favorite beach to go to during the summer and luckily this cabin was a short 8-10 minute to the beautiful white sand beach!

What makes this cabin unique

Beautiful Meeks Bay Resort and beach is just a short walk (10 mins) or drive and the stunningly famous Emerald Bay is just 15 minutes away. Homewood Mountain Resort which is owned by the famous Squaw Valley Ski Resort is just 4 miles away. It's feels like you are really getting away from it all but you can still dine at some great spots just a short drive away. When you visit this cabin, you will really feel like you have totally relaxed in the high mountain scenery and fresh pine air. The unique structure provides a real feeling of being in the mountains with the beautiful beam design upstairs.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Linda was a fantastic host-always very quick to reply to any emails, answered all questions and sent lots of helpful information with directions prior to the trip. Could not have been more helpful or pleasant to deal with.

The cabin was gorgeous as pictured. Views from the deck were stunning and the location quiet and peaceful but only a short drive to all the major south shore sights - Emerald Bay, DL Bliss etc..

Would love to stay there again.

GREAT FAMILY GETAWAY AND GREAT VIEWS

  • 5 of 5

The views from the house are great. You see the snow capped mountains, beaches, tall trees, and beautiful lake from different areas of the house. The deck was spacious, which we loved sitting on, to enjoy the quietness of the area. The kitchen and pantry were well stocked. We loved not having to eat out every meal. We could grill out or cook in, so we could enjoy our family time. There are a large variety of things to do in the area; State parks, Kayaks, trails to hike, beaches, boat rides, and Squaw Valley to name a few. This house is in a good location for all the attractions. We loved our time here.

Mountains and Meeks Bay view home

  • 5 of 5

The home was beyond our expectations. We loved the views from the living room which is surrounded by windows looking out onto Meeks Bay and the mountains. The kitchen was well stocked. The living room and dining area are very comfortable. There was plenty of wood for the wood burning stoves and the bedrooms are large and comfortable. There is plenty of seating on the deck and a clean and functioning bar-b-q as well. The home is situated in a very nice and quiet neighborhood close to Alpine/Squaw, Homewood and Northstar ski resorts. Tahoe City is a short drive from the house. The owners have done a great job of anticipating all our needs. We had a great time and looked forward to evenings in this lovely home at the end of each ski day. This is a great place to stay for couples and families.

Views are beautiful

  • 4 of 5

The house does have beautiful views and are as pictured. Wall to wall windows on the living room level make for a open feeling. We and our sweet dog enjoyed stay very much. The house was well kept and clean. I'd like to suggest a larger tile area with a bench upon entering in order to be able to remove shoes and coats more easily as requested. The owner was easy to communicate with and responsive!

Owner's Response: Sarah, We are so happy to hear you enjoyed the views from our home as it is always a pleasure to see in the every changing lighting or weather over the lake at the different times of day. Yes, we like your idea of a bench inside the front door for taking off shoes and we will get one as we had also thought of that as well recently. Thanks for your stay with us! Linda and family

Sweet Escape

  • 5 of 5

We have been lucky enough to stay in this beautiful property twice -- both times in August. Everything about it is lovely. The pictures of the view don't do it justice! You just have to see it for yourself. Incredible.

The house is perfectly set up for a multi-generational get away. Grandparents, parents and children all enjoyed this amazing home. Thank you! We'll be back!

Great summer rental

  • 5 of 5

The house is lovely and the view is amazing. The kitchen is well appointed and the deck is the highlight of the house. The setting is quiet and convenient to Meeks Bay and our other favorite beach, D.L. Bliss. There were plenty of supplies for us and the beds were quite comfortable. It is is nicely decorated with a comfortable sofa and chairs. Highly recommended.

Great location and views

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our family stay...3 couples each with a comfortable bedroom. Great view of lake from deck and also dining area inside. We walked to Meek's bay beach, one of the best on the lake. Also just a few minutes to Sugar Pine beach, where you can rent paddle boards and kayaks. We brought bikes and used the bike trail that starts just before the road to the house. Really interesting and beautiful circular design, but the design does limit the size of the kitchen...only room for one or two cooks at a time. Appreciated how quiet the area is...houses closer to hwy 89 have much more traffic noise.

Owner's Response: We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and the design of our special Tahoe place. The kitchen is unique (and not large) due to the circular design of the house but we have been able to have three people in there working together (one at stove, one at sink and one chopping and it's all fine.) It is so cool to be able to see the view while cooking or doing dishes too! We are also happy to hear you enjoyed the location and quiet setting! We hope you will be back in the future :) Thanks, Linda and family

We are only 1/2 mile from the bike path across highway 89 that goes all the way to Tahoe City. Also within 1/2 mile is Sugar Pine Point State Park which also has the Erhman Estate with summer tours, several historic sites within the grounds and a beautiful outdoor setting and pier. Sugar Pike Point State park also has many bike paths on both sides of the highway through the campgrounds.
