Buckley's of Dunolly, a former goldfields hotel, has three bedrooms with queen size beds, one with private ensuite. The upstairs area is reserved for the guests with only one booking party at a time. The owner lives downstairs on the property.
The upstairs breakfast room has coffee, tea, cereal, microwave and bar fridge.
The former ballroom is for exclusive use by guests, with television, comfortable sofas, board games and books.
We are situated on fifteen acres of garden and bush land just one kilometer from the township of Dunolly.

Gorgeous 1860s original hotel.

Rachel, the lovely welcoming owner and host, made us feel completely at home for our weekend stay at her beautiful historic two story house. We loved our stay and can recommend this 110% for anyone considering a stay in Dunolly.

Luxury and great value

I liked the old world experience of staying here, especially the enormous and luxurious lounge. All the rooms were warm and the beds comfortable. Breakfast choice of cereals and bread

Easter O Event

Rachel is an amazing host, lots of information about the area and the history of the property. Accommodation was great for our group. Lack of a full kitchen was not an issue as the local pub has excellent food and service at reasonable prices.

Amazing

This place is legendary. Full of historical charm, warm cosy and lots of space. Lots of books and curios throughout. Owner is incredibly helpful. We all loved and look forward to going back.

Comfortable and welcoming

A charming historical place with all the olde world fixtures and comforts. Our host was wonderful and always available to help us with anything. Beautiful rooms and the ballroom/lounge room was so gorgeous with a lovely fireplace. Close to many historical sites in the goldfields, including the Melville Caves.

Buckleys of Dunnoly

The accomodation was pretty well as advertised. Additionally, it was just a stone throwout of town. Old world charm with lots of space to move and enjoy the piece and quiet. Plenty of fascinated books and literature to read if you are so inclined. .

What a lovely gem among the Goldfields

We had a such a lovely relaxing time here. Situated just out of Dunolly, the grounds were great to explore. The house was grand and the beds very comfortable. It has such a pleasant vibe and the owner was truly a gem who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the best things to see in the area. We only had a weekend to explore and there's so much more to do in this place. We will be back!

Overnight stop at Rachel’s

Rachel has created a lovely Victorian experience for her guests with the whole space full of antique furniture, photos and books. My bed was warm and comfy with beautiful linen.Rachel also provided cereal and fruit for breakfast, and helped me carry my bags to my room. A really unique and comfortable stopover on my bike ride. Thanks Rachel:)

A Magical Retreat

Oh my goodness what a brilliant stay we had. Rachel was the ultimate host and we were so comfortable and nothign was any trouble. I felt I walked onto a stage and was taking part in a wonderful drama. A perfect venue to recharge. Highly recommended! PS There's fabolous wineries near by too, well worth heading too.

Beautiful Old Style Charm

A wonderful restored historic building full of old time objects. My wife and I spent hours looking at old old books, magazines and the many historic objects that are part of the building's atmosphere. A truly beautiful place to stay.

Delightful

Delightful Georgian property and owner goes to a lot of effort to ensure you are comfortable: electric blankets , heaters for winter and good wi-fi. We had the whole top floor to ourselves with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and large loungeroom. Was great for attending the Goldfields Gothic Festival as a short drive to Maldon. Dunolly itself has a fabulous bakery and vintage shops. Recommended.

Quirky and full of character

What an interesting property, if you are looking for something completely different then this is for you. How often can you say you have stayed somewhere with a ballroom? Rachel the owner is delightful, welcoming and a pleasure to deal with

A Unique Experience Not to be Missed

Our overnight stay at this historical former hotel was such a highlight. Rachel was an excellent and personable host and she went out of her way to add special touches that heightened the pleasure of our visit- for example a bowl of fresh peaches from her garden was in the fridge waiting for us. All of the facilities were very comfortable and we were able to really relax. From the décor, to the bookshelves, to the furniture, we were continually reminded of the magic of bygone eras. We will always remember fondly our stay at Buckleys of Dunolly.

Perfectly impressive.

We will be back! I can honestly say we had a wonderful time. We spent hours looking at all the collections and antiques. The ballroom kept us entertained with vintage games to play and many books to read. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The bathrooms were lovely. The kitchenette was well stocked.

A Joyous Break With Rachel

This historic building was an absolute fascination. It was everything we expected and more. Rachel was so welcoming and generous with her time and we learnt much about Dunolly’s history. We will visit again.

Quaint and spotless

We enjoyed our stay at the Goldfields. Accomodation was charming, spotlessly clean. Beautiful comfortable bed with quality linen. Generous breakfast supplies, fresh fruit. Highly recommend.

Fabulous period Cobb and Co hotel

Rachel is a wonderful host. The photos don't do it justice. The rooms are gorgeous. Beautiful antique furniture, really comfy bed, crisp linen, lovely soft doona and plush towels. Had breakfast room and ballroom all to ourselves. Will be looking for an excuse to come back!

Comfortable.

Excellent accommodation in a well located historical building. Rachel, the property manager, is charming, attentive and has a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding area and its attractions. No hesitation to stay again .

Country gem with rich history

Lovely reception and tour of our accomodation by the host, Rachel on our arrival. We were offered off street secure lock up parking which was appreciated. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Lovely linen on the beds, and air conditioning in the main bedroom. The original ballroom was our sitting area which is delightful. Would absolutely recommend and look forward to returning at a future date.

A Gem with Golden Hospitality

The personal dedication and efforts that have gone into restoring Buckley’s of Dunolly is inspiring. On arrival we were warmly greeted by Rachel, who was excited to welcome us in to her beautiful accommodation. We were overwhelmed that we had found accommodation that we didn’t expect would exist in this day and age; friendly host, the most comfortable beds and beautifully restored bathrooms and kitchenette all perfectly set up. Thank you, we will be back.
