Spring Canyon Properties began restoring, designing, and building custom cabins in 1991. Our first cabin project was the restoration of our listing #492880, which was originally built in 1927. Our cabins offer guests a one-of-a-kind experience with our attention to detail, design, and decor - not to mention the beauty of the natural surroundings of Spring Creek Canyon. Each cabin is nestled on it's own parcel of land to offer privacy to each guest.
Jessica purchased this cabin in 1991
There is not a property like this anywhere in the Black Hills! Quiet, serene, and inviting - yet close to all amenities.
The rustic feel of the cabin offers a step back in time to the history of the Black Hills through displayed artifacts and decor.
jessica provided so much help during out stay---looking forward to our next visit--- we have visited black hills many times and this was the nicest cabin ever😄
We loved staying at this cabin during our recent trip from Denver to see Mount Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial, Jewel Caves and the Bear Country wild animal park. It was wonderfully appointed and taken care of. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub with our kids in the evening, cooking on the fun old-fashioned stove, relaxing in front of the fire, and seeing the wild turkeys, big horn sheep and deer in the yard in the morning. The owners have done a wonderful job of making this place cozy and enjoyable. Nice thick after-hot-tub robes, Starbucks coffee for the coffee maker, a fire blazing in the fireplace when we arrived were all nice touches we appreciated!
Very cute place up in the hills. As another review mentioned you drive through a suburban cul-de-sac, but don't worry.
Every day, on the property, we saw: turkey, big horn sheep and 20+ deer.
Owner was responsive and deposit was returned in a couple of days.
Would absolutely stay here again.
PS, Pat was so sweet.
A great base for exploring the Black Hills and the Badlands. Terrific location, perched on Spring Canyon. A very remote feeling, with surprisingly easy access to all the area's attractions. The house is very well appointed, and the owners are super helpful and friendly. The sunsets over the canyon (e.g. back yard) are not to be missed. All around a very comfortable home to make your own during a stay in the area.
Our family loved staying in this cabin on our trip to SD!! Our two kids (3 & 4yrs old) had a blast on the playset and we all enjoyed seeing the wild turkeys and bighorn sheep every morning and evening. This is one of the nicest places we have rented off of VRBO and the owners clearly take a huge sense of pride in keeping the cabin in top condition. The cabin is very well stocked with supplies, linens, cooking utensils, etc, which made for a relaxed and carefree stay. Highly recommended!!!!
Loved the cabin. Easy to find. The cabin itself was even better than I expected. It has character and is not filled with junk-the decor fits the location. Clean. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare, eat and clean up after ourselves. We visited the meat market and safeway and found what we wanted. The bathroom was also stocked with nice towels and necessities. We also used the hot tub, fire pit and grill, all in clean good working order. Also felt extremely safe - we never used the lock. And we loved the parade of animals. I would never get tired of seeing all the deer and turkey.
Away from the cabin exceptional as well. We hiked, biked(thanks for info Larry), toured and ate our way around for most of 5 days.
If I go back to the Black Hills I will try to stay here, and will recommend this place because it is special.
Cabin is nestled in a central location overlooking Spring Canyon. The cabin is only 15 minutes to downtown Rapid City, the entrance of the southern hills attractions to include Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Needles Highway, Sylvan Lake, Harney Peak, 1880 Train, and entrance of the northern hills to include Sturgis, Deadwood, and scenic Spearfish Canyon! You will be close to all attractions and amenities yet feel like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life!
