Bringing your kids? They will love this family friendly place to explore with no one telling them to keep quiet. Take a short hike to the spring. Look for mushrooms. Read a book. Soak up the beauty of nature surrounding you.
Our well equipped kitchen boasts gas cooktop, microwave, and full-size refrigerator. BBQ masters can use the gas grill outside. Have your morning coffee on the porch or soak up some sun on the deck. There's not another house in sight! In the cooler seasons, enjoy a cozy fire in the wood stove (we keep you supplied with firewood!) Of course, there is heat and air-conditioning with the touch of a button.
Please note: there is no telephone, no television other than DVD's, and no internet service. If you still want to feel connected to the outside world, there is fairly good cell service, especially if you are a Verizon user. You are welcome to bring your own mobile hot-spot if you cannot do without the world wide web (or if it needs to be a working vacay).
The upstairs has a Queen bedroom and an open loft area with 2 twin beds and room for a baby bed or air mattress. There is a sofa sleeper in the main level living area. We also have a hammock ready for your afternoon nap!

About Lorrie Taylor
We have been involved with the music and tourism industries since arriving in the Branson area more than 25 years ago. We have a business in town, and decided to move to the country last year. We have 5 grown children and a 9 year old, plus 10 grandchildren and counting, so life is never boring for us!
Lorrie Taylor purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Lorrie Taylor chose Omaha Township
We started out camping here and ended up with a cabin! We've always worked hard and needed a little place where we could get away. We loved it so much that we ended up building a home and moving just around the corner. We lived here most of the time while building, and still love it! Every time we stay we ask ourselves why don't we just move in? Great plan. Except there's no room for the piano!
What makes this Cabin unique
Comfortable without being Luxury. This is a great place to unwind and forget your worries. Large enough for your family, but small enough to be cozy.

Fantastic cabin with complete privacy
The cabin is set in the woods, up a rather imposing drive, secured by a gate. The property is fantastic, with a nice creek and the lake just down the hill. The cabin itself is excellent - extremely clean, well-kept with two double beds in a loft, along with a full size bed in a separate room. The ladder up to the loft/bedroom is pretty steep. There is also a pull out sofa in the living area. Back deck is great, and in the front there is a large fire pit. Access to the property and to the house was easy with the directions provided. 4x4 to get to the cabin isn't absolutely necessary, but certainly would be recommended. Overall, fantastic stay.
Beautiful property! Cozy cabin! We had a great time at this quiet and peaceful cabin. The kids loved exploring the grounds and we all enjoyed relaxing on the deck. Its location is just far enough away from main attractions to seem remote but close enough for easy day trips. Lorrie and her family are great to work with!
Peaceful and relaxing vacation.
This cabin had everything that was needed. It was so quite and peaceful out in the wilderness. We enjoyed playing bunch of board games with kids that was in cabin. Wake up in the morning to drink a cup of coffee on the front deck enjoying the sounds of nature seeing Hummingbirds, deer and an armadillo. The cabin was perfect for a family get away. There was a nice welcome plate of snacks when we arrived which was perfect for packing in bags that could take on our hikes of the Ozarks. Lorrie does a fantastic job keeping in touch. My family is greatful for everything. Highly recommend this peaceful cabin get away!! Amazing!!
What a perfect retreat to get away from it all! Birds and other wildlife and the water sounds while taking a stroll. Aaahhh!
The cabin is beyond cozy and beautiful. It blew us all away when we stepped inside. The driveway is steep so don't think you'll get your two seater sports car up it. If you are bringing a boat, rent a slip at the marina first. It was almost impossible to get the 21' bass boat to the house but the guys managed.
We loved the house and will definitely be back. If you're looking for a quiet place away from it all it's perfect.
Sure beats camping!
We've never stayed anywhere quite like this! Very cozy and comfortable. We had everything we needed right at our fingertips. Great selection of DVD's in the library. Really enjoyed exploring the trails. Close to the lake - we will bring our boat next time. It's a great place to have a relaxing vacation, but close enough to Branson we could run in for shopping and a show. We will be back!
Thanks for sharing your experience! We feel the same way = )
Although there are many activities and attractions nearby, once you arrive, you may just want to put your feet up and relax! The telephone and cable tv have been replaced by peacefulness and quiet tranquility. We have stocked the shelves with a variety of books, games and puzzles in addition to some of our favorite DVD's and CD's.
If, however, you start to get cabin fever after a day or two, there are plenty of things to choose from. A short drive to the entertainment capital of Branson is where live music shows, shopping and restaurants await. Branson Landing boasts an outdoor mall with a Fire and Water Fountain show throughout the day. For outdoor fun, Cricket Creek Marina is about 3 miles away where boats can be rented. Bringing your own boat? There is lake access nearby. Silver Dollar City is a scenic 25 minute drive away and White Water is in the heart of Branson. There are several beautiful golf courses, as well as a new zoo and many other area attractions for every age.
To the south, visit and float on the Buffalo River and take a day trip to explore historical Eureka Springs. If there is something specific you are looking for, let us know and we will get that information together for you!
We are off the beaten path, but easy to reach by car...We recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle as the last 2 miles of road is gravel after leaving the pavement.
Every season brings its own beauty to our Ozark Mountain region. Deer, turkey and other wildlife inhabit the area. Bring your camera and patience to get some memorable photos. From spring thru September, there are hummingbirds. Wildflowers vary by the season. Nature trails beckon you to wander, so be sure to pack some sturdy shoes!
If flying in, you can check flights into Branson, MO (BKG) - about 20 minutes away; or Springfield, MO (SGF) - a little over an hour away. There is also a small airport in Harrison, AR that is about 20 minutes away. Metro airports you may consider are Kansas City (MCI), Tulsa (TUL), St Louis (STL) and Little Rock (LIT). These are all about 4 hours or so away.
