Our five day stay during the Christmas Holiday was relaxing in the Cabin.

  • 5 of 5

Overall, our experience in the Cabin was fantastic! The kitchen was very well stocked with all of the essentials and items you didn't know would come in handy. We loved the jetted tub and the Epson salt, especially after spending a cold day hiking. Another plus was the comfortable bed! We definitely would stay here again! Thank you for all of the personal touches (flowers ) that made the Cabin cozy and inviting!

A simple getaway with all the amenities of home.

  • 5 of 5

It was a cozy, quiet getaway. Tranquil, spacious and convenient to town. Great river access. The neighbors were a little closer than what I expected at first but after a day or so that was fine. Had a great overall experience and would choose again over the corporate owner lodging in the area hands down!

The perfect home away from home

  • 5 of 5

For our week's stay at River Bend Retreat, my husband and I wouldn't have needed to take much more than our toothbrushes and change of clothes. Calle and Brian prepared the cabin as though they were expecting dear friends, and provided nearly everything needed for our comfort, convenience and entertainment. Fluffy towels, comfortable furniture, snuggly afghans, large TV, DVDs, books, magazines, brochures, emergency info, local restaurant guides, games, writing paper, and a personal note welcoming us with suggestions of things to see. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, appliances, dishes and utensils, as well as basics like coffee, flour, sugar, cooking oil, salt, pepper and spices, condiments, even ziplock bags and saran wrap. Plenty of napkins, paper towels, dish soap, cloths and drying towels, and laundry detergent and dryer sheets for the washer and dryer.

Walking in, we were greeted with a fragrant bouquet of fresh flowers and were pleasantly surprised how spacious and homey the cabin really is. The photos don't do it justice. The bathroom is roomy, with a large walk-in shower and the deep jet tub was a real treat! And last, but far from least, the bed was extremely comfortable and we slept like babies after long days of exploring the park.

The creek is also much closer to the cabin than it appears in photos and we really enjoyed sitting on the deck and enjoying the sounds of water and birds. The city (or someone) happened to spend a few days dredging the creek and reinforcing the banks during our visit, and a large caterpillar-type excavator/backhoe was quite noisy as it churned up and down the creek moving rock and boulders. But instead of being an annoyance, we found the whole experience fascinating and even took video!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Rocky Mountain National Park - the stunning views, beautiful fall colors, listening to the elk bugling - and in no small part because we had a such a great place to come home to each night! For having "blindly" reserved River Bend Retreat during an internet search of accommodations, we couldn't have chosen better. Thank you Calle and Brian!

Great place to stay for a Rocky Mountain National Park getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved staying in this wonderful home during a seven day visit to Rocky Mountain National Park. Besides a generally great property, additional nice touches included fresh flowers upon our arrival, epsom salts for a daily hot soak in a great whirlpool bathtub, a very well stocked kitchen, a library of DVD's, games,. a riverside patio for end of day relaxation and a very reliable and strong wifi signal. This was a place that truly felt like home at the end of our hiking days.

The location is great - close to RMNP and Estes Park, but removed enough from Estes Park to escape traffic, crowds, and tourism.

Perfect Location in Estes

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for five days and wish we could've stayed longer! We enjoyed fishing and sitting by the river each day. Getting to town or into the park was very easy from this cabin but it also felt private and secluded. The best part is hearing the river at night! We would love to return someday. The host left flowers and has the house stocked with coffee and teas, an added bonus. Thanks so much!
