About this property

Beautiful, stylish barn. Family & pet friendly. Close to beach. 3 nights min.

We're happy to offer 3 nights minimum during non-peak periods. Set within the grounds of The Old Manor House, this charming brick and flint Barn offers spacious and well-appointed accommodation, plus is centrally located in Cley Next the Sea. Full of character, it comprises 2 double bedrooms and a 3rd, twin room, that leads off from bedroom 2 - it is divided by a door for privacy, but there's no separate entrance, so is ideal for children. It also has generous living/ dining space, a separate kitchen and 2 bathrooms.

One of the double bedrooms enjoys an en-suite shower room and the other a TV and the adjoining family room. The family room has 2 single beds, plus a truckle bed to sleep a third. High-grade cotton bed linen is provided.

The ground floor bathroom is finished to a high specification, with a Duravit bathroom suite. There is a bath and integrated shower, washbasin and WC. Christy bath and hand towels are provided.

The kitchen is fully equipped, including a Miele oven and Miele hob, microwave, Bosch dishwasher, AEG washer/dryer and fridge with freezer compartment. There is also a large fridge/freezer in the garage (easily accessed via the barn's entrance hall) that is solely for the use of guests. For additional storage space, all the cupboards under the book shelf in main dining/living area are empty and for your use. So there is plenty of space to store things away!

The garage is also useful for guests to store bikes, fishing equipment, body boards or anything else you might wish to store in the dry and out of the barn itself.

The main living/dining area is spacious, with a comfortable seating area and log burner - an initial basket of logs is provided, plus kindling and fire lighters. There is a large, wall-mounted TV with Freeview and internet TV. In addition, there is a DVD player and a selection of DVDs for you to choose from. The dining table is situated near to the kitchen and sits up to 8 comfortably. Two walls are mostly covered with bookshelves and we have plenty for you to read!

Outside there is an attractive garden area, bordered by willow fencing. There is a wooden garden table and chairs with parasol, that sits on a sheltered terrace, plus a small lawn. We provide a BBQ in the summer months. From the back garden you can easily access Cley High Street and all its lovely attractions.

Sunshine in paradise!
A wonderful week in outstanding accommodation. The weather was predicted to be awful but, thanks to the usual accuracy of the Met Office, turned out to be superb! Rachel is a wonderful host and the location is perfect… close enough to everything but isolated enough to be quiet. We recharged our batteries completely and our dog had the best week of his young life. So glad we booked our return at Christmas… Can’t wait!!

Beautiful barn
We had a wonderful week in this comfortable, well-equipped barn. Everything we needed was there, and it was perfectly situated for exploring the coast of north Norfolk.

Relaxed and comfortable.
We enjoyed the family break in this spacious barn. Very comfortable, although beginning to look a little tired in the kitchen and leather sofa in the lounge. We chose the windiest, wettest and coldest weekend in September for many years which meant the log fire was a must to complement the heating. There is a gap around the back door (can see daylight) which meant a real draft at times. Due to Covid we were expecting a really clean property but felt areas were not quite up to standard in the kitchen, bin needed a good clean inside, when stripping beds on leaving as requested, found that not all pillows had pillow protectors on. We did have powercuts each night of our 3 day break, so was pleased to have the log burner to keep property warm. Glad we took a torch when going to the downstairs bathroom during the night. Difficult to make a booking in restaurants within twenty minute drive, due to Covid restrictions. The booking we had made for first night was cancelled due to powercuts. Did meet Rachel who made us feel welcome.

Cley family visit
Very pleased with property. Good location. Good facilities. Excellent dialogue with property Manager as had to change holiday dates due to earlier lockdown. Would recommend.

The Barn is Beautiful!
We had a great time in Cley. it was our first time, but our friends had been there before and have family in the village. The house was lovely, spacious with high ceilings and lots of light. There was a dishwasher and washing machine/dryer - very handy, though we mostly washed dishes by hand. Rachel was very welcoming and helpful with any queries. The conversion was very sympathetically done, with lots of original details to enjoy. The location was perfect for us - close to what we needed and close to friends. We would highly recommend this property!

David and Rachel have lived in Cley Next the Sea since 2009 and have been running the barn as a holiday rental since 2010. David works as a Fund manager and lives in London from Tuesday to Thursday, while Rachel is a copy writer for bp and works from home - so very much on hand to help guests if needed. Between them they have 6 children aged between 30 and 22 - Grace, Josie, Oliver, William, Henry and Eve. The whole family loves the North Norfolk coastal area, so it really does appeal to all ages.
