Great place to stay! Close to downtown Austin!

  • 5 of 5

My cousin and I stayed here for ACL on Oct 7-9. It's a nice bedroom/bathroom/sitting room that can accommodate 2 comfortably, possibly 3. Very nice path that takes you to a gate. Beyond the gate is a patio area that's great for morning coffee. The sliding glass door takes you on into the sitting area that has a sink and mini fridge.

The owner (Kathleen) was very helpful. She responded almost immediately to any questions/concerns we had, and went out of her way to make sure we had a nice stay.

Just down the street is a bike trail that takes you directly to Zilker Park. It was pretty challenging with rocks and roots along the way, but it is very easy to take street roads there as well. That's what we would do at night on the way back.

For the price, location, and amenities...you can't beat this place!

Good location

  • 4 of 5

This space was perfect for us since our son's family lives about six houses away and we could walk back and forth. The space consists of a nice bedroom with a large closet, a bathroom with an awesome walk-in shower, and a small living room with loveseat-size futon, small fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Best feature is the private garden area with umbrella table and chairs where we ate breakfast each morning. There is a television which we never used in the bedroom. If the weather is bad, the futon seating is adequate for two but not very comfortable. A toaster would be a nice addition. Also, returning after dark, the walkway to the entrance is very dark as the solar lights were not working well. We definitely needed a flashlight. The pathway is uneven with stepping stones and so this might be a problem for someone with mobility issues.

Great Location with some restrictions

  • 3 of 5

The location can't get much better, close to the city center to explore Austin - nice quiet neighborhood. But the parking can be a bit of a challange, many people use this area for public parking during their visit of the Barton Springs Pool. Also no cooking plate in the condo to prepare anything small...

In general a nice place, but a bit overrated.

Crashpad in Austin

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for SxSW. The property is located very close to downtown Austin in a quiet neighborhood. Our Uber's were very inexpensive to downtown. Easy access to a walking greenbelt area and Zilker Park. Myself and one other person stayed there and it was enough room. Depending on your level of closeness, 3 people would be tight. The owner was very responsive to our questions. I would stay here again.

austin city limits

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay here for Austin city limits. It was an easy bike ride to the festival and some cool hiking trails just steps from the room. There was a private courtyard that we loved and used alot for coffee/ lunch etc. Kathleen was very easy to work with and lives in the adjoining house. Neighborhood is very safe and quiet. Guest house was small but bedroom/ shower were nice and comfortable and clean and perfect for what we needed (a homebase for the festival). Would need a bike or car to go exploring but close to everything.

Excellent Stay

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with a friend for ACL, and it was perfect. If you don't need a full kitchen, you still have everything you need in the way of plates, cutlery, coffee maker, sink, etc. The courtyard was wonderful to hang out in at night. Kathy, the owner, was very responsive prior to my trip, and answered any emails while I was there. I left a ring that is very dear to me behind, and she is kindly going to mail it to Canada for me. I would recommend this place for any couple to stay in, five stars.
