About the property

2 Bedrooms plus 2 other private sleeping rooms with 2 full Bathrooms

Smugglers Notch is rated as the #1 overall resort by Ski magazine. This is one of the reasons why we chose to build our vacation home right next to the mountain. In fact, our house is actually on the trail map and you can walk to everything at Smuggs as well as surrounding restaurants. Ours is, quite possibly, the closest private home rental at Smugglers Notch resort.

Not only is our location ideal, our house is brand new!

The house has an open floor plan with granite countertops in the kitchen with birch cabinetry. The family room has a gas fireplace, a 50 inch TV, and leather sofa, love seat, and single chair (they are so cozy that it is hard not to fall asleep after a great day on the mountain).

The total square footage is about 1800. There are two queen bedroom sets in the bedrooms and four bunk beds in the two extra rooms on the second floor. This will provide comfortable sleeping for up to 12 people.

At the end of your day you can enjoy watching the ski trails on Madonna Mountain from the front porch.

And FIREWORKS! The resort puts on an amazing fireworks show every Thursday. You will have a spectacular view right from the front porch. The kids will love it!

Summer is great too! You can take advantage of the swimming, fun zone, zip lining and other activities at a fraction of the cost of staying at the resort and you can still walk to just about everything.

Other activities off the mountain include horseback riding, fishing, kayaking, biking, hiking, & fishing. There are some great wine and spirits tasting real close by too.

We have family across the country and frequently look for vacations rentals that accommodate two families. We built our home with that in mind and hopefully you will appreciate our approach too.

About Jim and Paige

Having family close to Smugglers Notch Resort introduced us to this great family vacation spot. We have been vacationing there almost twenty years. We often thought how wonderful it would be to have our own vacation home in this beautiful area.

For years we searched for just the right spot as close to the mountain as possible. We finally found an older house in severe disrepair and we jumped on it. It was in such disrepair that we needed to start from scratch. We decided to donate our house to the Cambridge fire department. They used it for training exercises and then burned it to the ground on a cold snowy day in March 2013. It was a magnificent experience that we will never forget. We will always be grateful to the fire squad and we think they appreciated the opportunity as well.

We started building immediately and tried to consider everything that a large group or multiple families would appreciate. We hope that you enjoyed our story and take the opportunity to visit our custom home and take advantage of the many wonderful things that Smugglers Notch and Vermont have to offer.

Why Jim and Paige chose Jeffersonville

We have family across the country and frequently look for vacations rentals that accommodate two families. We built our home with that in mind and hopefully you will appreciate our approach too.

We love Smuggs and everything the area has to offer. Great skiing, hiking, fishing, swimming, biking, kayaking or simply relaxing are just some of the great things you can do right out the front door.

What makes this house unique

Super location! Walk to everything!

Excellent accomodations

  • 5 of 5

Excellent accommodations. The beds were comfortable. The large kitchen was well equipped. Appliances , including the large washer and dryer, microwave, air conditioner and TV were modern and efficient. The grill on the rear deck worked wonders on our London Broil and flank steaks. And the porch was a great place to have a cigar and a Heady Topper at the end of the day. Trips to Stowe, Ben&Jerry's, The Alchemist, Jeffersonville Art Show and Cabot Cheese Creamery among other day trips kept us busy.

Great house - great location

  • 5 of 5

Everything was perfect for our stay. The house itself was great. We found the house to be very comfortable and the whole family had a great stay. The house is also located perfectly for enjoying the Jeffersonville/Smuggs area for summertime activities. We visit family in the area every year and will definitely return to this home. The owner reached out to make sure everything was going well for our stay shortly after we arrived, which shows how much they care about their home and their visitors.

Terrific Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

We have rented several homes over the past several years in various areas of New England (Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont) and this ranks as one of the best. While it may not be the best for people with extensive disabilities, the first floor bedroom was a big plus for our two senior citizen couples, one of which had minor mobility issues. Also the location was excellent for our exploring of the northern areas of Vermont. The house itself was well equipped and did not lack anything for our stay. We generally prepared breakfast each day and a couple evening meals at the home. We also are at a couple local restaurants that were excellent. The only minor issue we had (due to our own lack of technical ability) with how to navigate the TV was quickly and efficiently resolved. This property was well suited to our style of a relaxed morning followed by mid-day and afternoon and early evening touring, exploring, shopping, etc. Beds were comfortable and while we didn't need more that two bedrooms, the other "bunk" rooms would certainly be a plus for families with children. Also, we visited in summer, but the property would be great for winter visitors as well. I imagine easy access to the washer/dryer and fireplace would serve fall and winter visitors well. We really had no negative comments about the property and we would certainly seek to visit again should we be in the market for a place in this area of Vermont.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. Your trip across the North East sounded great and I am happy that we could accommodate you and your guests. Sorry for the confusion with the TV remote. Having the TV, Satellite, Blue Ray, & Stereo remotes all in the same place can be a bit tricky if you are not used to them. We will try to put together some helpful tips for using them in the future. Thanks again, Jim

Super Summer House

  • 5 of 5

Great house! Super clean and spotless with amenities and plenty of space for a large group or extended family. River, restaurants, hiking, biking, Smugglers Notch (just walk across the street to pools, water slides, mini golf, etc) and Stowe (a short drive to all the town has to offer) are easily accessible. We would recommend this to anyone looking to be in the Smugglers/Stowe area in the summer time.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the awesome review. A lot of people think Smuggs is just for Winter but we love it in the Summer too for all of the reasons you listed. I am glad you enjoyed our house too. We built our home to be a great vacation spot for large groups like yours. Thanks again, Jim
