About Chris Cain

My partner and I grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee and fell in love with the area. I am a professor and my partner is an engineer. We have two daughters and feel so blessed to own property in what we both know to be the most beautiful open place we have ever visited. We love Asheville and hope you find as much joy in this house as we have over the years.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My colleagues and I have tried to work at hotel conference centers before, and had some success, but this location brought a whole other level to our synergy and productivity. The house is nestled in the trees and the quiet atmosphere is a perfect place to relax and re-energize. The layout of the house allowed for several different work spaces when we needed to divide tasks, but also allowed for us to meet in a comfortable common area. We all had our computers connected to Wi-Fi and were able to get so much accomplished! The owner is incredibly easy to work with and responded to our questions quickly. When we looked at the cost of a hotel conference center meeting room plus the cost of our hotel stays, this option was significantly more economical. We were able save money with our food budgets as well. The kitchen is well-equipped for food preparation. I also liked that it's within about a 10 minute drive into Burnsville where there are some lovely little shops and restaurants. The grocery store has a Starbucks! We will definitely be choosing this location again for our future work retreats. I'm even planning on using it as a family vacation spot.

Wonderful home with a great kitchen, washer/dryer, etc.

  • 5 of 5

If you need to relax, look no further than this comfortable home. Only two issues my husband's concern as our I-Phone's didn't work inside/outside of home and he feels landline is needed in case of emergency. Lots of steps into the house excepting for the three steps that lead into the kitchen. I've got major back issues, but I managed. The setting is SO peaceful and serene. Sitting outside listening to the birds, seeing the hummingbird at the feeder, the rainstorm, cooler temperatures. Absolutely fabulous. We ate out only once so the kitchen was well-equipped for our needs. Chris was awesome in his response time back, from the first time I spoke w/him up to our arrival when Jason texted/called him. The hot tub was marvelous at night to use. We ate breakfast on the table outside on the deck. Another time we ate on the front porch sitting in those wonderful rockers. Hope to return someday. Thanks Chris for opening up your home to folks like us that needed to de-stress. 💑

Wonderful vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We really ejoyed our 6 night stay! Amazing views, quiet reteat. We enjoyed breakfast on the back porch and spent every evening on the front watching the humming birds and fire flies were awesome, they lit up the trees! We enjoyed rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway from Looking Glass Falls to Boone then a visit to the Mast General Stores. Shopped at the oulet in Ashville & Farmers Market. Little Switzerland General Store and restaurant had a delicious eclair! We also enjoyed ribs @ Bubba's Good Eats then the best food was Italian pizza & garlic rolls from Papa Nicks in Mars Hill. It was so nice to go out during the day & hang out in a comfortable home @ night. Didn't use the hot tub but there is a nice one there. We wish we were staying longer!

Really enjoyed our vacation! Sat on the front porch every evening. So Relaxing!

What a great place to spend a week. It was just what we needed! Enjoyed beautiful rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway. House was SO comfortable, breakfast on the back porch and evenings on the front porch watching fire flies & hummingbirds. Only spoke with Chris and he was super helpful when we had questions. We could have stayed forever! Couches were the most comfortable I have ever seen! Decor was very nice. Thank you for opening your home to us! The Bailey's, Magnolia, Tx

Awesome

  • 5 of 5

Well where do I start? We were pleasantly surprised of how nice this place was. The pictures of the interior do not do it justice. The owners thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and we available if there were any questions. The views are nice and peaceful and made it nice waking up in the morning and having coffee. The location is close to downtown was convenient, which made it great to visit with our friends who live here. We will definitely stay here again!

Very pleasant house

  • 4 of 5

Wish it was closer to Holly Springs, or we had taken a few more days off.

Quiet place, as we love. Plenty of space. Wifi took a long time to be active. Could not figure out how to tune to Netflix, but not a problem.

Location is really good. Burnsville is actually much better than Asheville. Food was very good in the 2 restaurants we visited (the brewery and Snap Dragon).

It is an area we will probably visit again.
