This was a beautiful home that suited our family well. The house was expertly cleaned before we arrived and we are VERY picky. The view was breathtaking and the home had everything we needed while we were unexpectedly snowed in. The only thing I would caution future visitors about is the driveway. If you are not comfortable with very windy mountain roads and you are not in a four wheel drive vehicle, you may want to find a different location. We managed fine in our truck, but it was a white knuckle drive the first time we got up the driveway.

Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re especially honored to hear that the cleanliness met your standards. We’re also so glad the cabin had everything your family needed and that you were still able to enjoy the breathtaking views, even during the snow. Mountain roads in this part of Western North Carolina can be winding, steep, and occasionally bumpy. Since you visited during the winter month (December through March), we do require AWD or 4WD due to the possibility of snow, ice, and changing mountain conditions. While most 2WD vehicles can make it to the cabin, we recommend that guests who aren’t used to this type of terrain use AWD or 4WD for added comfort and ease. Most guests adjust quickly after the first trip up and drive up is absolutely worth it for the amazing views at the top! It was a pleasure hosting your family, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime.
