About Sandy

A bit of history about Twin Lakes Bear Lodge:

The structure was built in the 1970s as a residence. The owners lived out their lives in comfort and happiness, surrounded by loved ones, until one fateful day when the Mrs. of the house passed due to health complications. Her husband, stricken by grief, rapidly fell victim to dementia and was no longer able to live on his own, placing a huge financial burden on his family. Wanting only the best care for their father, the children are now renting out their parents very home and now wish to invite you to share the majesty and tranquility that this home has held for years.

Sandy purchased this cabin in 1978

Why Sandy chose Rathdrum

For years different pieces of lake property were scouted out, looking for the perfect place to build a home. All the items that had been accumulated for years in the garage and basement, were added in this home during the many years it took to build. Many objects from our parents travels are seen throughout the house also, as you step from the 'Mexican room' into the 'Butterfly room' the 'Clown room' or in front of the river rock fireplace with it's unique mantel, which was brought from Montana, and where each rock was hand selected from a friend's backyard and placed in the fireplace along with coins from different countries. Surrounded by knotty cedar, throughout the house, gives a special feeling of a cabin and a home. Sitting in front of a warm fireplace, being out on the deck watching the lake or the stars or just hanging out in front of the campfire on your own private beach will bring enjoyment and memories that will carry with you forever.

What makes this cabin unique

The View, The Bears, The Sun, The Beach, The Decks,

The Wildlife, The Local Attractions, The Comforts!

They Are All Here To Enjoy.

This vacation property highly exceeded our expectations. Relaxing, convenient location, quiet.

  • 5 of 5

We will definitely be back to the Bear Lodge. It was comfortable and perfect for families with young kids. Sandy is proficient in her customer service. Our only complaint is that we couldn't stay another week 😁?.

Can easily accommodate a big group and was very clean.

This property was great. Sandy was always helpful with returning my emails and phone calls. The beach is very nice and there is a canoe that is available for guests. We had 15 people in the cabin, it accommodated us all comfortably. The one thing that I think it needs is more signs on your way there. It was a little confusing to find. Our family had a blast !

A beautiful home on a beautiful lake

  • 5 of 5

The home was well kept and comfortable. There was plenty of bed space for the 9 people we had there. The majority of the beds are in an open loft then the other two beds are in two bed rooms. This worked fine since we were one family, but might be a bit awkward for more than two couples. There is only one shower and one bath tub, and the water heater is very old and inadequate. This led to long waits and mostly cold showers. The lake is very beautiful and was great fun. The water was warmer than we thought it would be, and was quite pleasant for boating and swimming. We were a bit disappointed that there was no paddle boat as was in the description. I think that with the replacement of the paddle boat and a new water heater, this would be nearly perfect.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice review. We enjoyed having you as our guests. I apologize about the hot water tank. When we came over to look at it, we found it had been turned on to vacation mode (which reduces the heat to half) and the temperature had been turned up as high as it would go. I hope after we got it properly adjusted you had enough hot water. Thanks again.

Great part of the lake to be on. House is in great shape and new carpeting. Nice to have so much deck outdoor seating. The King bedroom. Queen bedroom and loft which slept 8+ chidren / young adults was great.

Sandy manages the place and is always available and genuinely interested in making it a great experience. We'll be back!

For the large city scene, Coeur d'Alene, ID is located only 18 miles away. It is 16 miles to Silverwood Theme Park, the largest theme park of the Pacific Northwest, and approximately 30 miles to Spokane, WA and the Spokane International Airport.

OUTSTANDING environment for the Coeur d'Alene IRONMAN Competition with mountainous hills and roads (also paved roads that extend around the lake) to run and bike in preparation for the big race! And best of all, a warm lake to swim in as often as you like, with your own private beach. Then a short 20-30 minute drive into Coeur d'Alene for the big race day.
