A bit of history about Twin Lakes Bear Lodge:
The structure was built in the 1970s as a residence. The owners lived out their lives in comfort and happiness, surrounded by loved ones, until one fateful day when the Mrs. of the house passed due to health complications. Her husband, stricken by grief, rapidly fell victim to dementia and was no longer able to live on his own, placing a huge financial burden on his family. Wanting only the best care for their father, the children are now renting out their parents very home and now wish to invite you to share the majesty and tranquility that this home has held for years.
Sandy purchased this cabin in 1978
For years different pieces of lake property were scouted out, looking for the perfect place to build a home. All the items that had been accumulated for years in the garage and basement, were added in this home during the many years it took to build. Many objects from our parents travels are seen throughout the house also, as you step from the 'Mexican room' into the 'Butterfly room' the 'Clown room' or in front of the river rock fireplace with it's unique mantel, which was brought from Montana, and where each rock was hand selected from a friend's backyard and placed in the fireplace along with coins from different countries. Surrounded by knotty cedar, throughout the house, gives a special feeling of a cabin and a home. Sitting in front of a warm fireplace, being out on the deck watching the lake or the stars or just hanging out in front of the campfire on your own private beach will bring enjoyment and memories that will carry with you forever.

I stayed at this house with a team of coworkers while we ran the Spokane to Sandpoint relay race. The house was beautiful, and we enjoyed swimming, canoeing, and cooking out when we weren't running. Highly recommended!
Our family had a wonderful time at Bear Lodge. Sandy made sure everything was in perfect order for us. So clean and all the amenities, tons of room, and we enjoyed making good use of the canoe for sunrise and sunset paddles around the warm and lovely lake. Highly recommend staying here!
First time visitors to Bear Lodge. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves along with family and friends. It was an excellent choice for a family reunion away from all the big cities of the east coast. The lake is absolutely beautiful and the cabin location couldn't be better. Plenty of space for all to enjoy; we even had an afternoon party of 27 that was easily accommodated. Can't think of anything that was lacking.
We have made coming to the bear cabin an annual event. The first year we opted to stay to be close to Silverwood but the 2nd and 3rd year we lengthened our stay at the cabin with less time at Silverwood. The cabin is very spacious and the lake in front is priceless. We are looking forward to many more years to come at the cabin.
We were told not to check in before 4. We arrived at 3;55 to find the place had just begun to get cleaned from the party before us. Therefore, we couldn't check in until 6:30 - 7:00. The garbage was not taken care of that day. It was picked up the following day, after it had begun to stink all night long. The owner kept coming over to have people who were staying sign an affidavit...however the affidavit form we signed meant nothing because it didn't refer to any contract or anything. There is no way that affidavit would stand up in court had something gone wrong. The contract said check-out was at 11:00 PM on Monday...the owner said 11:00 AM. She did honor the 11:00 PM and even stated we could stay an extra night. While we were awaiting the house to get cleaned, we hung out by the dock, which was very unsafe and unsteady. We informed the owner who then gave us access to tools and wood to repair. Ridiculously unsafe and we had about 20 people coming the next day.
The house is very outdated, but comfortable. We had access to a paddle boat and canoe, but no life vests. Overall, the house worked for our 50th birthday party. The kitchen and living room are roomy, the decks and beach are nice. Besides, I got to spend a weekend at the lake enjoying the sun and surf.
We had a wonderful time at Bear Lodge. The house is very comfortable and roomy. There were only two of us, but, we could have had three families and still have been comfotable. There's lots to do around the area, Silverwood is only 10 miles away. The lake was awesome and can be so quiet at night. What a relaxing time.
Check out our guest book, at Twin Lakes Bear Lodge, which has many of the local sites and their information available to make your trip as enjoyable as possible.
For the large city scene, Coeur d'Alene, ID is located only 18 miles away. It is 16 miles to Silverwood Theme Park, the largest theme park of the Pacific Northwest, and approximately 30 miles to Spokane, WA and the Spokane International Airport.
OUTSTANDING environment for the Coeur d'Alene IRONMAN Competition with mountainous hills and roads (also paved roads that extend around the lake) to run and bike in preparation for the big race! And best of all, a warm lake to swim in as often as you like, with your own private beach. Then a short 20-30 minute drive into Coeur d'Alene for the big race day.
