Familia y mascotas con vista increíble

La propiedad se encuentra en la zona central del Pacífico justo arriba de la zona de la ciudad de Puntarenas, cerca de la pequeña localidad de San Miguel. Estamos aproximadamente a 1 hora del aeropuerto de San José o 2 horas desde el aeropuerto de Liberia.

Está a unos 15 minutos del mar ya unos 25 minutos del centro de Puntarenas.

Hay una piscina de borde infinito con vistas al valle y al océano.
La habitación está totalmente amueblado e incluye una pequeña cocina, cuarto de baño con ducha, 2 camas dobles, una pequeña zona de comedor, una televisión y sala de estar fuera de la cabina.

Hay Internet WIFI y teléfono disponible.

Tenemos contactos con varios taxistas locales que hablan Inglés. Se le recogerá y te deja en el aeropuerto y también proporcionarán visitas a las atracciones locales por mucho menos que las compañías de turismo. Algunas de las atracciones son tour de canopy (tirolesa), volcanes, parques nacionales, las plantaciones de café, granjas de orquídeas, pesca, paseo en barco a la Isla Tortuga y muchos más. Hemos estado en la mayoría de los tours y son buenos.

En un día cualquiera, de la cabina, se puede ver una gran variedad de pájaros de muchos colores diferentes.

Los taxis son relativamente baratos y hay un autobús local que puede ser marcado en el frente de la propiedad y lo lleve hasta el centro de Puntarenas por menos de $ 1. El autobús te deja fuera a un buen tamaño de mercado, las tiendas para ir de compras y está cerca de los bancos con cajeros automáticos.
Cerca de nuestra propiedad (15 minutos) hay un mercado de agricultores abiertas viernes por la tarde y sábados por la mañana donde se puede comprar la mayoría de las tiendas de comestibles que tendrá a precios razonables.
Dólar y la moneda local (colones) se utilizan en todo el país. Si necesitas cualquier otra información, háganoslo saber y vamos a conseguirlo para usted.

Acércate a Puerto Caldera y Parque de aventuras y hotel Vista Golfo si buscas unas vacaciones activas, aunque para apreciar la belleza natural de la región lo mejor es visitar Playa Boca de Barranca o Playa de Puntarenas. La Casa de la Cultura y NATUWA, Santuario de Conservación de Guacamayas también merecen la pena. Puedes reservar algo de tiempo para explorar la naturaleza realizando actividades como el ecoturismo, aunque quizá prefieras decantarte por la observación de aves.

A welcoming retreat with wonderful views

Ted & Irene were very welcoming hosts. Beautiful garden & great infinity swimming pool with panoramic views. Road up to accommodation is rough but will be paved soon.

Just a stop over

This property is nearly worth the price. We booked it for one night to break up a long drive. The grounds are pretty. The rooms are extremely outdated and could use an army of well trained cleaners. I rely on honest reviews when I book accommodations and I have provided an honest review here.

Property could use updating and better cleaning (cobwebs/ dead bugs). Beds are very firm, bedding could use updating. Exterior lighting is poor, something to keep in mind if you have sight or mobility issues. Tough to find, especially at night. Signage at road and better landmarks on HWY 1 would have been helpful. Ted is very kind, however we would not stay here again.

I am disappointed with the review. I had to wait for 5 hours after their estimated arrival time and talk them to the property because they did not have data. While they were here, they were very good guests but never mentioned any of their issues

We stayed at this place at the beginning of our trip. Great area with stunning views. Excellent restaurant nearby( no signs so ask locals for directions). Nice pool for an afternoon cool down.Ted and his wife are great hosts. Highly recommended.1

Nice place to be

Very nice place with a stunning view and the owner doing mostly everything to accommodate and please you. Need a car to get there and it is very secure and 10 to 15 minutes in car from most of the services in stores.

Beautiful view! Lovely pool! And, very kind and helpful hosts!

Ted and Irene have a wonderful property in the hills, overlooking the Gulf of Nicoya, The grounds are lovely and green and are well kept by their friendly gardener. The rooms are like small, efficiency apts and you have all you need to make your stay enjoyable.

Cottage near Punteranas

The view from this property is fabulous. The studio cottage in which we stayed is simple but met all our needs including cooking our meals, After exploring the locale each day the infinity pool was a great way to relax.

Bit dated and a bit less clean than we like but spectacular view

The room was a bit dated and less clean than we would have preferred included some cobwebs on some of the appliances and some dead bugs around various places. The host was very friendly, great communication and easy process for check in and out. View from the property and the pool is truly spectacular. Little updating and or more frequent cleaning would go a long way here.

Safe, clean, comfortable, and friendly

Ted and Irene's apartment-style accommodations are comfortable and modern, and the kitchen is very well equipped. My husband also said they have the best pillows ever! The infinity pool is gorgeous (definitely cooler than most places but you get used to it), and the view of Puente Arenas is incredible. Ted took us on a money tour where we got to hand-feed wild white-faced monkeys as they climbed on our shoulders - BEST part of our trip so far! And they suggested we go to the Natuwa reserve and it was definitely well worth going. We spent some time down by the cruise ships and took a stroll thru the aquarium which was a bit sad but worth the $10 if you have time to kill (the buildings are air-conditioned and have the best stuff to see). The road to San Hose (to the airport, Walmart, etc) is gorgeous. Good/smooth, twisty roads with great views of the hills and valleys. We also hung out by the town square of Esparza (next town over) one Friday night around supper time - the locals were out relaxing and visiting with each other, and we really enjoyed the peacefulness of it. Puenta Arenas isn't the place to go for gorgeous beaches, but it's an interesting place. Ted and Irene will answer any questions you have and are great hosts. We definitely recommend Iguana Negra!

Infinity View In the Highlands

Ted & Irene have an inviting and friendly escape at the top of the hill and through the gate. The accommodations are simple and well maintained. The grounds are lush, clean & safe. We enjoyed the beautiful pool and patio. The up country of Barranca is convenient to many local sites and Ted/Irene can give you great advice. Take him up on his monkey tour! Thanks again for opening your home to us!

Beautiful property with a great view

We stayed about 9 days & had a great time. The property is beautiful, the view from the pool is amazing, and the owners were very helpful & friendly. They arranged a snorkling trip that was a lot cheaper than what's available online & took us on a monkey tour. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful & affordable place to stay.

We had a great stay at iguana Negra. Ted & Irene are very gracious hosts who took care of our needs. They drove us to Puntarenas for our catamaran trip and was there waiting to pick us up. They have very good knowledge of the area and suggested some exciting side trips such as the monkey tour bird sanctuary. The view from their property over looking the ocean is incredible. The rooms were immaculate with well equipped kitchen facilities. We highly recommend staying at Iguana Negra in San Miguel.

It was a wonderful stay here!

We stayed here for 6 nights. We rented out 2 units for our family. We kept very busy everyday. Ted brought us to a place to feed monkeys and set us up with a boat ride to Tortuga Island for snorkeling and lunch which was a lot of fun! We visited Jaco twice during our stay once for the beach and once to go on an ATV ride. We also went to Monteverde for zip lining and hiking. It was a great location for a "home base" The units were comfortable and the pool was beautiful...sunsets were amazing. We hope to be back again!

Great place, wonderful views, friendly hosts

I spent 6 nights in this place in Dec 2016. The room was very well-lighted, spacious and clean, well-equipped, and having a fully functional kitchen. In the daytime, there was great views of the garden and the sea below. Ted and Irene were wonderful and helpful hosts. The location is suitable for day trips to either Monteverde or the beach. An ideal place for laying back and enjoying the sunshine and warmth of Costa Rica.

Great Hospitality!

First off, I want to say thank you to Ted and Irene. You were both more than friendly to my girlfriend and I and you were incredibly helpful as well. That being said, onto the review we go. This place was amazing. The infinity pool overlooks what may be the best sunset in Central America. The grounds are very well kept and the condos are incredibly clean. As mentioned above, Ted and Irene were super helpful. They had great advice on what to see and where to go while we were there and Ted even woke up at the crack of dawn to take us to a local spot where you can go feed some monkeys. It made our trip. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a place along the central pacific coast of Costa Rica. I know I'll be back if I'm ever in the area.
