About the property

French Street 2 Bedroom 2 Bathroom Cabin

JACK’s CABIN

Jack’s Cabin, formerly an ore traders cabin is nestled right in the middle of the down town historic district. Beautifully restored, this cabin home is nicely appointed and decorated tastefully with original artwork, and some period antiques. The new gourmet kitchen boasts Sub-zero appliances and an antique replica gas range. The dining table seats four comfortably.

This cabin is on the Breckenridge Historic Registry. It is centrally located on French Street, only 2 blocks off main; you can park your car and walk to everything! The free ride shuttle stops just steps out the front door, to whisk you away to the gondola on peak 8 or the beaver run chair on peak 9. Any time, day and evening you will see the romantic horse drawn carriage stroll by. You may want to hitch up with them and take a ride through the historic town of Breckenridge!

If you are planning a wedding please contact us first.

Jack’s cabin will sleep 4, preferably 2 adults and 2 children. The larger queen memory size bed is on the main level. Two twin beds are in the lofted second story. There is one full bath on the main floor and a half bath on the second level.

A pot belly gas stove warms you up when you return from your day exploring Breckenridge. You may find it hard to get up and get going as you are snuggled in reliving the former glory days of the miners and settlers in Breckenridge.

Why stay in a condo with crowded and noisy neighbors, when you can stay in your own private cabin, with private parking. There is onsite parking for one auto. You may request additional offsite parking with your inquiry.

Amenities include indoor and outdoor ski racks, hair dryer, boot dryer, Wifi, two flat screen TV’s, DVD player, and a BBQ Gas grill. If you require laundry services it is straight across the road.

This cabin is owned by a seasoned Breckenridge local who appreciates the simple and wonderful soul that Summit County has to offer. Whether you are an active outdoor enthusiast or you have just come to relax and shop and taste of Breckenridge you will not be disappointed staying at Jack's Cabin.

About Anita Whetstone

I love to travel. I grew up in the Midwest. However when I first came to Colorado I knew this had to be my home.

I would like to share my Historic Cabin with you when I am not there.

Anita Whetstone purchased this house in 2013

Why Anita Whetstone chose Breckenridge

I love history. When I saw this cabin and heard the story of Mickey the ore man who built it 130 years ago I wanted to be a future owner.

What makes this house unique

This is a stand alone guest cabin. On the Historic Registry it has been beautifully restored with reclaimed lumber. This cabin is on the street level so you don't have a bunch of steps to climb!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Jack's cabin in Breckenridge. The cabin was cleverly and tastefully decorated. It had a romantic charm and was well equipped. Very warm and cozy. The location of the cabin was ideal. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great little cabin!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I came up for a weekend getaway and we loved it. The cabin had everything we needed and it was easy to walk to many restaurants and the heart of Breckenridge. We would definitely stay there again. The cabin had all the space and comforts of home that we were looking for. The owner was easy and friendly to work with as well.

Great property!

  • 5 of 5

Jack's cabin is charming and exactly as advertised. It is perfect for a family or single person wishing to get away to the mountains in any season. Plus, the location is perfect! It is only a couple of blocks from Main Street with all of its hustle and bustle, but the cabin is tucked away and quiet in the most charming neighborhood in Breckenridge. I stayed in Jack's Cabin for a week over the 4th of July and would love to return. The owner was helpful and responsive and has taken care to make sure that the cabin is well stocked.

Experience the real Breckenridge at its best

  • 5 of 5

Perfect for 1-4 people. Jacks Cabin is an experience, a very good one, all in itself. Breckinridge is a historic mining town and Jacks is a historic building with top of the line modern accoutrements, tastefully done and well blended period pieces. Jacks is cozy yet roomy. There are plenty of hiking and biking trail heads only a very short distance. All of historic downtown Brekenridge is only blocks away. If you stay in Jacks cabin you will not need a car. The parking is extraordinarily convenient and there is a free public parking day lot very close if you have friends or visitors. The neighbors, Dan & Patty are friendly. I was fortunate to meet the owner who is truly extraordinary and extremely accommodating.

I spent a week at Jacks in the "off season" aka "mud season" and had a great time hiking the nearby trails, enjoying the serenity of the blue river as well as the night life and world class restaurants all without using my car! The kitchen is well laid out with plenty of first class kitchenware. Some of my best meals were at Jacks! Even though the exterior says historic old cabin, everything about Jacks is top drawer. Staying at Jacks is like staying with a very good friend that happens to have an excellent location. Jacks really is the best of Breckenridge!
