About Rachel Brannan

Our family includes two children and a chocolate lab. My husband is a native to Arizona and has grown up hunting and fishing in and around Flagstaff and loves the area’s vegetation and wildlife. I love the charm of Flagstaff after attending NAU for part of college and growing up skiing at Arizona Snowbowl.

Rachel Brannan purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Rachel Brannan chose Flagstaff

We bought this cabin as a retreat for our family in the woods to escape the desert heat and the crowds in Phoenix. We found this area of Flagstaff over 13 years ago and loved it. We were so thrilled this year to be able to find a home in the same area to purchase as our family retreat. The close proximity to skiing/hiking, peacefulness of the large wooded lot and short drive to downtown Flagstaff makes it ideal.

Great location and beautiful space.

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip out west and we knew we wanted to stay in a location that was central to other key scenic vistas and this home meet all our requirements close to shopping, the canyon and other points of interest. Along with being far enough out that you didn't feel crowded in with people and neighbors. The only thing that was a little tough was finding it the first time. We arrived in the late evening and missed our turn off to the house and ended up at the wrong house we turned around and got going in the right direction. Once we got there we couldn't have been happier with the cabin and its surroundings. We give it a big loud 5 gold stars and would stay here again if we get out west again someday in the future.

Great Place to get away

  • 5 of 5

This place was perfect. Peaceful and off on it’s own. Far enough out of Flagstaff but not too far if you need to go to the store or want to go out to eat. It was very clean inside and very well stocked. They supplied things that most VRBO’s don’t. Surprised to find a large flat screen tv but very happy that it was there. The DVD library is huge if you need it. Beds were comfortable and all linens were supplied. There is a binder with all the directions of how to turn things on and off and the general rules of the house. Absolutely loved it. Plan to stay here again. Thank you Rachel, enjoyed your cabin in the pines. Oh yes, let me add, it was unusually warm so I did not see any elk!! EXCEPT saw 3 bull elk on the property and out by the mailbox. Look forward to staying here next year.

Excellent get way retreat that's not too far away

  • 5 of 5

This cabin exceeded our expectations. My husband and eight year old daughter stayed for six days over Thanksgiving. We've stayed in several vacation rentals and this one has been the best. It was clean and uncluttered. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds we're comfortable with plenty of extra pillows. We we're able to easily settle in and feel comfortable. Being able to park in the garage was nice. The road was well maintained and easy to travel up to the house. The instructions for the house were clear and easy to follow. With no neighbors to the sides or behind the cabin felt very private. We kept the windows open during the day to enjoy the view. We were comfortable letting our eight year old explore out side with out us. The location was perfect. Running into town for groceries was easy. We hiked in Sedona, Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater, The Grand Canyon, Red Mountain Trail, and The Lava Tube Cave and visited The Lowell Observatory. All were just a short drive away. The proximity allowed us to have lazy mornings and cozy evenings watching movies by the fire. We highly recommend this cabin.

Relaxing and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is in the perfect location! Beautiful woods all around, we hiked a little and just enjoyed being in such a wonderful outdoor area. Close to town for groceries and meals out but it feels like your in the deep woods. Our family loved the time we spent here.
