“Tranquility Point” – lake front home with amazing views, no steps to the water, and your own private boat ramp to conveniently launch and retrieve your boat.

You’ll love the peace and tranquility this 4 bedroom, with additional kids bonus room, 2.5 bath lakefront home has to offer. The home is nestled on a 1.1 acre private wooded peninsula with 574 feet of shoreline in the beautiful Big Creek area of Norris lake. The main entrance driveway, boat ramp and walk to the water has a very gentle slope making this home a family vacation paradise…great for both young and old.

There is plenty of room to park your cars and keep your boat trailers right on the property.

The two slip boat dock offers a swim platform with a 10' by 16' addition (April 2015), a swim ladder, diving board and water slide for the young and young at heart. Two kayaks are available for your sight seeing enjoyment. The dock area has a shaded concrete patio furnished with a Lux Craft Polyethylene bar table and chairs for your dockside picnic or favorite beverage.


A new stone fire pit was built in 2014 for those evening camp fires to roast hot dogs, smores' and to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the lake after the sunsets. The fire pit is surrounded by 6 new Lux Craft Adirondack folding chairs for your comfort.

The home is tastefully decorated in bright and cheery colors to brighten your every moment while on vacation. The home offers some fabulous views of the lake from the living and dining room along with all 4 bedrooms. You even have a view of the lake from the master bathroom shower…amazing!!!

New for 2015 will be hardwood floors to replace the plush carpet on the main level with the exception of the master bedroom. Carpet will remain throughout the remainder of the house. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to showcase your culinary skills or for mixing your favorite refreshment. The laundry room is located off the kitchen and has a wash basin along with plenty of cabinet storage space.

The main level living and dining area features a wood burning fireplace and large screen tv. The large deck can be accessed from the dining room and the master bedroom. The deck features two sets of patio furniture with seating for up to 12.

The main level master bedroom has a king bed, his and her closets, a very large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and glass enclosed shower.

The upstairs loft functions as an evening tv/game area with two sleeper sofas.

The three upstairs bedrooms feature queen or full beds and have large closets to hang and store your belongings. Two of these bedrooms have private walkout balconies with great views of the lake.

The second floor bathroom is huge. You could have a party in there. A large glass enclosed shower and a jacuzzi tub highlight this bathroom. The sitting area is a big hit with the ladies to put their make-up on. The large two sink vanity offers ample space for many.

The second level also has a separate bonus room furnished with two twin beds and two full size beds. Each of these beds has a weathered wood pallet as a headboard. The kids will love this room designed and decorated just for them.

The basement rec room is a great place to relax and watch tv/movies or play games. This room also offers some great views of the water with a walkout to the lake.

Professional architectural and landscape lighting by Nitelites Inc. adds to the ambiance of the property at sundown. The professionally installed deck lighting creates a soft romantic atmosphere for your late night entertainment.


A two car garage on the main entrance level has a second refrigerator for your use. This garage floor has been professionally coated by Garage Floor Coating of Southwest Ohio and is so beautiful you may want to eat dinner in the garage. There are two single car garages on the lake side. The deck above the entrance to the two single car garages serves as a car port to park your cars.

By water, “Tranquility Point” is equal distance from Sequoyah marina and Whitman Hollow marina for quick and easy access to gas, boating supplies, ice cream, snacks, drinks, pizza and wings.

“Tranquility Point” is located 16 miles off i-75, exit 134. Once you exit i-75 you have approximately 20 to 25 minutes until you arrive at the house.

About the owner: My wife and I have lived in the Dayton, Ohio area for the past 30+ years. We grew up in the St. Mary's and Wapakoneta, Ohio area. I grew up on a dairy farm milking cows and working the farm everyday before and after school while juggling many sports activities as well. My wife worked at the Marina on Grand Lake St. Mary's for many years while in high school and college. We are both graduates of Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. We spent the first three years post college as teachers and coaches in eastern Ohio. We have three grown children and six grandchildren.

Why the Owner Chose Big Creek, La Follette, TN, USA:
The home and property is situated on a private peninsula with a gentle slope to the water and a very easy to navigate driveway. Also, the Big Creek area of the lake is free of all the congestion and boat traffic associated with other areas of the lake.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
We looked at many properties on various areas of the lake. We looked at new homes, under construction homes and existing homes with an open mind regarding what we wanted in a lake house. Most of the homes we viewed had more bedrooms and baths and were priced lower than this home but had steep driveways and/or many steps to the water. Every time we viewed this property and this house it just felt like home. Finally after viewing this property and home for the third time my wife and I looked at each other and said 'why are we continuing to look at other properties. This one feels like home'. The most redeeming feature of this property is the convenience that it offers families of all ages. The gentle slope to the water with no steps is hard to find on the lake. The private boat ramp and convenience of launching and retrieving your boat from the property is another hard to find feature on the lake. The ample parking for cars and boat trailers on the property is another plus compared to many homes we viewed. Many of the homes we have rented in the past have had many steps to the water and steep driveways that made navigating the property a challenge. Not here at Tranquility Point. The gentle slope of the driveway and the private wooded peninsula is a homeowners dream. And then there is the amazing views from virtually every room in the home. The Big Creek area of Norris Lake is peaceful without all the congestion and boat traffic of other areas on the lake. When we factored all these unique features into our decision, this was the perfect place.
